They work great and were easy to make
I had my ears molded by E-A-R Inc for Insta-molds back in 2007 and then again in 2013. This is almost the exact same thing. Same binary compound process. These are slightly firmer than Insta-molds, but only noticeable if you’re squeezing both side-by-side. According to Advanced Audiology Services, the recommended protection for small caliber handguns is 22dB, large bore handguns and rifles is 25dB, large caliber handguns and shotguns is 27dB. With these being 26dB reduction, that’s about perfect for anything if you make them slightly thicker. Don’t calculate the decibel reduction at the muzzle. These are meant for the person shooting the gun, not for people sticking their ears against the muzzle of a 3.5” turkey load with ported barrels. I ordered both pink and blue to do a swirl look, and it turned out great! Highly recommend these. Ignore the naysayers on here. If you’re not intelligent enough to use Playdough, you shouldn’t be around guns or heavy machinery anyway.

Work the night shift? Pretty good for day-time sleeping. GET SOME!
Extremely comfortable, fairly low-pressure, and best of all- they absolutely will NOT fall out while you sleep. As a nurse, I have been working 12 hour night shifts for the last 7 years, and sleeping during the day with a 2 little kids and a wife who likes to vacuum is a bit a challenge. Noises like gardeners and lawnmowers, trash trucks and loud (apartment) neighbors have been constant problems that I have mostly learned to ignore. Over the years I have tried many different solutions including other brands of disposable earplugs, fans, and static brown noise. Frankly, usually a combination of several things helps me sleep. However, I always seem to wake up from either noise or uncomfortable changes when one or both of the ear plugs fall out. I stumbled upon this cost-effective solution and overall, I am pretty pleased with these earplugs. Pros: light, soft and comfortable. They don't move around once they're in and I can't think of any activities where they might accidentally fall out. Since they are custom-molded they of course fit like a dream and work well. Bottom line: these earplugs are better than anything I've used and they are 10 times cheaper than custom earplugs made at the audiologist office. I am not ready to invest $150 bucks or more on something that I am likely to misplace, and these custom earplugs are fantastic. Get some, and if you get a good fit you won't be disappointed. Now for the cons. These are somewhat minor, and here is how I overcame these issues. Once these ear plugs dry they are stiff and not pliable or spongy. So, if you don't get a good fit with the initial mold, they probably won't work very well, and I imagine they won't be very comfortable either. The comfort of these ear plugs result from an accurate custom fit, but if you want something soft and squishy these might not be a good product for you. When molding them for the first time just note that it takes a little bit of work to get a deep fit when working them into your ear. I used almost all the material and found that it was a bit too much once it had set. It made the outside surface of the earplug stick out over some more of the sensitive parts of my outer-ear, and when I was side sleeping on my pillow it became sore after a few hours, and I had to roll over. This by no means is a deal breaker though, because for me this is WAY less irritating then regular earplugs, which extend much further past the outer ear, which eventually causes them to loosen and dislodge. I would suggest that you either use less of the included putty material for each ear (especially if you have smallish ears), or you could do use more material, but clean up to extra material after it hardens. My goal was to have as much of my ear covered as possible for better sound blocking. I really filled nearly half of my outer ear- just like the photos on the packaging show. However, the finished surface was not as flat as the advertised picture and so after letting it cure for another day or two I pulled out an exacto knife and sliced off some of the outer surface for a more flat, uniform look. This was an immediate improvement in comfort and it looks a lot more even and gives the plug a more finished and professional appearance. I had some 150 grit sand paper laying around and so I ran them back a forth on the paper to even out the surface and they look and feel perfect now. You can see my results in the pics I uploaded. Before you try and mold these to your ears for the first time I also recommend watching a video (you can Google how-to videos on YouTube and you'll get a great idea of how to do it, or a trip to the official website will work too). You will probably get a better, more comfortable, and more effective fit if you know what you're doing first. In fact, after making several pairs over the last couple of years, I might suggest that you buy 2 kits and makes several pairs, because some attempts might turn out significantly better than others. Also, a little research shows that the putty has a shelf-life of a year after packaging and the product comes with a card with a date of production. I ordered mine on Amazon and it had a packaging date three weeks old. Basically, brand new. Final thoughts: If you take your time and watch an instructional video before proceeding you will probably end up with a better result. Also, do yourself a favor and really clean your ear well before starting this process. If you're like me that means you might want to use an ear hair trimmer get rid of anything that might impede a good fit. This review might be a bit overkill for a product as simple as earplugs, but as a day-time sleeper, I felt like I might be able to help fellow night-shift workers get better rest.

These are great!
I have purchased these multiple times and they are far superior to the expanding foam kind. They give you more material than I tend to need so judge how much you need based on your ears and do not feel like you have to use it all. I've also noticed that I get a better fit if I don't talk or move my mouth while it is curing in my ears. Highly recommend

From one of the worst products to a very good one in a short time span...
Please read the whole review Radians redeemed themselves and it will make you think twice about buying these online Well if these were marketed as ultra-tacky non-setting ear plugs that were permanent then man these would be great. I had to get a friend that is a doctor to come over and carefully remove the ear plug that has cemented itself into my ear canal. It wasn't placed overly far into my ear canal either, I had used another brand before this many times, but couldn't find it anywhere so I decided to go with these since I needed some new ear pro for shooting, doing loud odd jobs, or for using as custom fit ear bud with in ear head phones. I am really glad I didn't clean my ears to do this, the cleaner the surface of my skin was the more it stuck. It's all over my sink, and I've been scouring it with steel wool... I've never been this dissatisfied with a product in my life. Well I emailed Radians and they had me look into the product date codes, I was sold product that had expired over a year prior to my purchase, Radians has been trying to tell retailers that the product does go bad. Also Radians improved the life and formula a lot. They sent me 3, that's THREE, sets to try out. I got one and didn't let it touch my ears, just played with it, worked flawlessly, audiologist quality. So I'm very pleased with the results. That being said I would make sure you are getting "fresh" product, which is hard to do online, not saying that it can't be done, but make sure you buy from Amazon and not a third party vendor. Radians customer service is amazing, I got such prompt response and their absolute concern for my health and safety was nice to see.

I like them alot
I really like these and I want to like them more but they are great in every aspect that they are comfortable and block out noise but the durability is the biggest issue. They aren't cheap and after about a couple months I have to replace them cause they start falling apart. I put them in and take them out a couple dozen times a day though. So I do recommend them but not if you have to take them out and put them in alot.

Love it!
Love these, I've gotten several sets. I got each of my daughter a set and 4 sets for myself. We all suffer from migraines and these are great for loud places. I keep a set in my truck, travel bag, shop, and tool box. They allow you to hear normal talking but muffle loud noses. great for operating equipment or sporting events.

Great Product
These Custom Molded Earplugs really are good. I have been using them daily for about a month and will never go back. I have worked in factories years ago where some folks utilised Custom Molded Earplugs, and swore by them. I'd been using silicone earplugs (they are like a soft putty and need to be fitted each time) for a few years which work great but can get pricey. Reading the reviews now after using them for a month, I fully recommend them. I've used every possible kind of hearing protection available and these work great. A word of caution to anyone who does not typically use earplugs. These are not soundproof, far from it. They do however cut a considerable amount of noise out. And I would agree with other reviews, mine would not be comfortable to sleep with if you are a side sleeper. These are so easy to get in and out and fit perfectly every time, and they work at an optimum level immediately, unlike foam earplugs. Great in the shop, at races, concerts, flying, while cutting the grass with gas mower, to name a few. They cut the noise down considerably but you are still aware of your surroundings. The instructions are easy to follow and forming them is a breeze. My first order, while doing the initial moulding, I was hesitant to push them into my ear cavity too far. They were not as effective as the second order that I formed a bit deeper into my ear cavity.

Good form fitting earplugs - dependant on initial molding.
If fitted properly, these earplugs should compete well with the disposable foam plug hearing protection - especially when paired with earmuffs. Fitting the plugs takes about 10 minutes per ear, of which you have about one minute of useful time after mixing to mold each plug into your ear. If you put excessive material into your ear canal, the plugs are easy to trim with a utility blade. I've used these to sleep in noisy environments (caused by heavy machinery), and they work well, feel comfortable and didn't interfere with my sleep like foam plugs and especially the silicon flanged plugs have. However, regular use for sleeping has caused irritation in my ears as they effectively trap warm air and allow for bacteria growth.Regular cleaning is required. Overall, these plugs are effective for reducing noise overall and are comparable in noise reduction to foam plugs. However, they are dependent on proper fitting. If fitted properly during molding, they can be placed quickly and are handy to have in environments that can become noisy suddenly - a great advantage over foam plugs which may take longer to fit in cold environments. These are the best earplugs. Period.
UPDATE: Well cricket and motorcycle season are over and these earplugs performed flawlessly allowing my partner and I to sleep through the night and ride without losing our hearing. Don't mess with conventional earplugs. Get these. Yes theres a bit of a learning curve in mixing and holding them to your ear canal but you won't be sorry. They're now my go-to when I use power tools and chainsaws. Beats bulky ear protection and these cut so much sound you won't believe it. Have seen these sold at motorcycle shows for a LOT more money. Told them yourself and save a ton. Been using these earplugs for years now while riding motorcycles, using power tools or even escaping the sometimes mind altering noise crickets make at night when they're right under your window. These earplugs are easy to mold to the ear canal and block out so much sound youll never go back to foam earplugs. Follow the mixing and molding instructions and you won't go wrong. I've had one set for five years without incident and bought another two sets. Now I don't have to carry the one set with me all the time. A worthwhile purchase!

Awesome ear molds
Perfect! The molding process was easy to follow and turned out perfectly. Quite comfortable in the ear and great for working. Muffles louder noises and still makes it manageable to communicate without screaming. Top notch!

Not good for side sleepers
I bought these early plugs for sleeping as my husband is a very loud snorer and foam ear plugs irritate my ears. I though custom molded would be the way to go. I carefully followed the instructions but was over-cautious about how far into the ear canal I pushed them when molding. If molding another pair, I would push them in further. I found that these barely blocked any sound. This could be because I didn't push them deep enough into my ear canal when molding them. Finally, DO NOT BUY THESE IF YOU'RE A SIDE SLEEPER!! Your ears will feel bruised in the morning.
