Good for women's small frame/narrow frame faces

I am in a clinical laboratory science/med tech program starting this fall, and we need to have well-fitting safety glasses for obvious reasons. However, as a smaller woman with a relatively narrow face AND prescription Rx glasses that I have to wear, there were no real options for suitable safety glasses offered by the program. I was afraid I would either be doomed to constant use of the Sucking Goggles, or to have to invest already in appropriately-sized prescription safety glasses. I checked around online, and was also dismayed to find that even "out there" there are very limited options for women in my situation - apparently, while there are (I'm sure) a lot of women like me in this field who need safety glasses, they are all buying prescription ones. I suppose I get this dearth of options from a business standpoint - once I'm in the working world, if I really need safety glasses all the time I'll probably invest in Rx safety glasses too. But what about women students trying to save money??? Well, I ordered this Pyramex pair and theUvex S3160X Ambient OTG Safety Eyewear, Medium Blue Frame, Clear UV Extreme Anti-Fog Lens from Amazon just to try them out.... what do you know, the Uvex (which was specifically stated as smaller sized) was still way too big, but the Pyramex OTS fits almost perfectly! The Pyramex also looks and feels better on the face, and seems to be more of a seamless design where I don't notice it as much when I'm wearing it either. Plus it's DIRT CHEAP compared to the other options out there. Ladies, these may be your best bet. Be warned, however, that while I have a narrower face than most men, I also have a bit of a round face. Those of you who are super petite with truly narrow faces, these may not work either. But they're cheap enough that you should try them anyway, I haven't found any others that are narrower. YMMV. (FYI Grainger does sell little slip-on sidepieces that turn your regular glasses into "safety" glasses, so those might be worth a look - but I know my program wouldn't have let me, as a student, get away with using those instead of actual safety glasses. In that other strange land known as the Real World however, those may be my first option.)

Nice safety glasses

I have to wear safety glasses at work & the ones my employer gave me to wear over my glasses were horrible. They didn't fit at all & were constantly sliding around over my glasses, which was irritating. These fit well with my smaller, contemporary frames and they are comfortable. I no longer feel like I'm wearing a snorkel mask at work. I took a star off because my employer requires that safety glasses have the ANSI info etched into the lens or noted on the frame. I could not locate this anywhere. Even though the description states that these meet ANSI standards, there is nothing on the glasses (that I could see) that indicates this, which my employer wants. If you are buying these for your job, check out what your employer's requirements are for safety glasses.

Clear and protective

Nothing to really complain about them. They are nice and clear. I put them over my glasses with no issue. It does catch my glasses when I take them off but it is not a big deal. I used them in the fog and it did not fog up during use. I was drilling through stone and bricks with an SDS hammer drill and it blocked anything that came toward the safety glasses. I was also drilling and cleaning the soffits. There was lots of little soil, dust and dirt came down on my back and the glasses protected my eyes and prescription glasses with no issue.

Too narrow to fit over my prescription glasses

I bought these glasses for shooting to fit over my prescription lenses. My prescription frames are common rectangular shaped with rounded corners and are overall 5.625" from outside edge to outside edge, and these safety glasses don't quite fit over my frames. The safety lenses themselves are effectively 5.5" inside edge to insidge edge, and they are concave so the width decreases as you get closer to the lens itself. So these safety glasses were really made to go over prescription frames that are 5.5" or narrower. If I tilt my prescription glasses slightly, I get them inside these safety glasses. Each black temple is three pieces: 1) a hard black plastic part that attaches to the lens itself and is hinged to, 2) a 1.25" black plastic piece on the other side of the hinge, and 3) a 3.25" ear hook that is a hardened "rubber" material to comfortably go over the ear. The ear hook actually slides in and out, adding another 0.5" of length to the overall temple piece to adjust the length and fit over the ear. These safety glasses are comfortable and clear to see through. I just wish they fit over my prescription lenses.

Accurate description. Great product.

They are very sturdy and light. After a few seconds, you hardly realize there on. In other words, they are not in your way. Did not experience any fogging of the lenses, indoors or outside. They should be able to fit lenses as large as 2 inches wide by 1.5 inches high. The total width across both lenses combined is 5.5 inches. The side shields are slightly wider to accommodate for your lens frames. There are holes in each Temple Tip if you need to secure them with a lanyard, string, or chain. Best regards

I can't really review this item properly. I did try them on once, and yes they did seem to fit over my glasses well. Even doing well to limit the total dork factor you get with any over the glasses safety glasses. The down side, Some dogs may be drawn to the smell, shine or taste of these. Mine decided to test the chew resistance while I was away at my regular job, so I can only report on her test. Shepard Mix Chew test - The black arms chew up nice easy to swallow pieces. The lenses themselves do offer a bit more resistance, but with some effort, chunks can be chewed off. Resists shattering well, unlike acrylic butter dishes. There will be definite deformation, and complete unreadability causing the owner to resort to wearing the provided super dork over the glasses safety glasses. Bottom line - I would recommend them, but don't leave your brand new safety glasses where the dog can eat them.

Comfortable over small glasses for an 8h shift

I work in a hospital and eyewear is required for all point of care patient interactions. These were one of the few approved eyewear models I could self purchase. I’ve been wearing these for a few weeks now and I really like them. I’m a woman with an average size head, I wear these with the extendable ear pieces completely in. My glasses are 52-16-135, lens height about 35mm. If my glasses were bigger I don’t think the goggles would fit overtop. I like how the lens part can tilt to reduce glare, and the goggles end up sitting on the top of my eyeglasses reducing the weight on my nose. The ear pieces are a bendable rubber, I straightened them out to reduce pinch points. The ear pieces stay put resting over a scrub cap, headband or tucked overtop my eyeglasses. I’ve cleaned these with soap and water, Oxivir peroxide wipes and rubbing alcohol. None of these options caused any etching on the plastic. I used glasses cleaner to remove and residual smudges. At the end of the day sometimes I feel a bit of a pinch point over my ears, but it sure beats the full visor or the procedure mask + visor combo.

Perfect fit for people with small faces!

I am a petite woman who usually has to buy my eyeglass frames in the kids section so I have a hard time finding fit-over safety glasses that properly fit. These glasses fit comfortably and most importantly they don't slide down off my face whenever I put my head down. Five Stars!

These are perfect!

I absolutely love these safety glasses! I was worried after reading some reviews that they won't fit over my prescription glasses but they fit like a glove. My glasses are 52-18-142 and the safety's fit over them without adding pressure to my nose or ears. Since I'm a teacher and do ALOT of talking they do fog up slightly on occasion. Mostly after coming in from outside. It's really comfortable to the point I completely forget that I'm wearing it. I definitely give these 5 stars :)
