A+
good sharp and strong bit

Older version of this lasted longer
I bought one of these about 8 years ago. I drilled about 30 holes in granite and it was holding up well. I bought a new one to have on hand and decided to switch to see if it would be faster. It seemed about the same speed for drilling but was completing destroyed after about 25 holes. Perhaps I didn’t take enough care with it but I think I treated it the same as other bit. I was able to finish another 20 holes with the old bit and it still works.

Make sure you know that this bit does not fit a standard drill. It is a SDS attachment
It's a sharp bit that went through concrete with ease. After drilling four 3" deep holes I can't even tell I've used it.

Didn't last long! (Updated)
TLDR; GREAT customer service - bit worked great in the end. This drill was working well, and cutting like butter. But, when I took it out of the third hole, the carbide on one side had chipped (see picture). The bit kept cutting, and after the 7th hole, was still in the same shape. I presume it was a manufacturing defect in the carbide. We'll see what DeWalt has to say, and whether their "no break guarantee" gets me anywhere. Other than the chip, so far it has been 5 stars... I'll update with some more wear, and whether or not DeWalt honored their guarantee. ** Update ** In the end, a simple call to DeWalt, and they sent a new drill bit out - no questions asked. While I was waiting for it to arrive, I kept drilling with the chipped carbide. Not quote as effective, but drilled another 21 holes (9" deep) in granite, and no further complications. The remaining carbide looks just like it did after the 3rd hole. So, a bad piece of carbide? Maybe. But, DeWalt took care of it. No complaints, and was WELL worth the money.

Worth ever penny
This but drilled 90+ holes. I thought my hammer still was going to melt before this thing got dull. It did finally got dull, but it kicked the but out of every other bit used the same day on the same slab.

Cuts well, buy two to trade off, prevent heat buildup damage to bits.
Works as Designed! Let Machine do the work, don't lean on it to cut faster, all that does is melt bits.

Drilled 3 holes and dulled to useless
I was only able to drill 3 holes that were less than 4 inches deep before this bit was junk. Don't let the Dewalt name fool you into thinking that you are going to get something of quality.

Good for 8-10 holes before needs sharpening
Bought one bit, drilling various types of stones in the field, after about 8 holes the speed at which the holes are drilled slowed notably. Used a green grinding wheel (TRUPER PIES-6160T 6" Silicon Carbide Bench Grinding Wheel) to sharpen and was good for another 8 holes. Came back and purchased another 4 bits so that I can drill up to 40 holes before heading back into the shop to spend 5 minutes sharpening a total of 5 bits. .

Cuts through concrete like butter
Bought this to help break apart this 30 year old concrete table and benches in my backyard, to make it easier to dispose of. Even with the cheap demolition hammer I have, this goes through like nothing. Even after hitting rebar a few times, there's been no real difference.

They don’t last very long!
Between May 31 - September 26, 2021 I have purchased 9 of these drill bits for drilling holes in granite. I have 2 serviceable bits remaining. They work well for the first few holes. After drilling approximately 8 -10 four inch holes they do not cut very well, and after drilling approximately 10 - 15 four inch holes the carbide tip breaks off. I try to use minimum pressure on the drill and allow the bit to cool before using it to drill the next hole.

Awesome
Great drill bit, has stood up to drilling countless holes in granite, the way it disperses the material that your drilling is ideal. Well worth the price.

Sunk about 100 holes in granite before the carbide tip fell out. There was extensive oxidation between the steel and the braze which no doubt caused the poor bond. The carbide is only retained by a L step in the steel bit compared to the HILTI bits that have a full C around it, which provides much more surface area for the brazing.
