not cheap, but good if you have problems with feet
I got a pair of the bone and black of these for my mom, and she just loves them. She is the type that has sensitive feet, and has a hard time finding shoes that do not bother her feet. Usually the insoles are not very good, or have lumps somewhere in them, or something that makes them uncomfortable. My mom had a pair like these before, and they lasted her a few years (she is not hard on her shoes). In comparison, she has gotten Dr Scholl brand shoes, and those usually only lasted her maybe, or about a year, before she could not wear them anymore. It was because of the padding breaking down on the inside of the shoe (the bottoms still had tread left). So in comparison, even though these were much more costly, they also lasted her many times longer too. I felt them and the insoles seemed to be much thicker then standard insoles, so maybe that is the reason why they seem to last longer. She has had no problems with anything coming apart with her last pair, so they are made very well. Also, If I remember right, i also believe that these were Rx, made for people with problems with their feet, or diabetics, too.. So taking that into consideration, the price is not really that bad considering the Rx tag put on them. Overall, my mom is very happy with them and just loves these shoes. They are definitely recommended. One last side note. there was a person that stated that they tried them and that they were heavy and pushed her toes forward, or something like that. All I have to say is this. i have felt many pairs of sneakers over the years.. regular sneakers.. not high tops, but the kind that exposes the ankle. and from picking them up, these shoes feel lighter compared to sneakers made like that. My guess is one of 2 things. and that is that the problem was not the shoes, but maybe they bought a size too small, and in turn, that would explain the pushing on toes remark (not wide or long enough), and if that happened, you can strain your feet/ankles trying to adjust for the uncomfortable feel, which means that they would not be walking properly which could strain your muscles. Think about how you walk if you get a cut, or a soar, or something on a spot on the bottom of your feet. You try to walk differently then what is natural, which means you strain your muscles by your feet. That is what it sounds like happened to me.. either that or they are used to wearing flip flops, which weigh almost nothing, and the extra weight of actual shoes did them in. but that is just my guess.

But funny thing the leading question should be about the fit
These are very comfy as has been my experience with Propet. But funny thing the leading question should be about the fit. Is it just me or have shoe sizes gotten smaller? I've worn a size 10 for as long as I can remember in my adult life. Now, all of a sudden with this winter season coming up, the shoes I've purchased online and have tried on in brick and mortar stores fit best at 1/2 to a whole size larger! I tried it with this shoe, ordering online, I ordered a 10.5 instead of my usual 10 as I have ordered online from Propet in the past. And sure enough, the 1/2 size larger fits perfect! I'm 58 so I don't think my feet have grown any since last year. This phenomenon is about as strange as when women's pant sizes started getting larger. At 150 lbs I know I'm not really a size 10, at least in the way size 10 used to be. So bottom line is if you are ordering these, they are extremely comfy! But as far as the size goes, maybe go to a Payless and try on this season's new winter offerings first, and I hope you get the right size on your first try.

Almost
Length seems to be a bit inconsistent with this brand. I think the trick is the combo of width and length. In other brands the wide (C/D) is okay but with many of Propet's shoes I find I need the 2E (much harder to find and very limiting - also much more expensive). So it seems if I get the wider one, then I don't need the same length. A bit of trial and error. So although these are slightly too big and my heel rides up a bit, other than that they are extremely supportive and comfortable. I guess I will hope that the correct size/width combo comes down a bit in price.

Great for mom with really bad feet
Bought for my mom and she loves them. She has a high instep and swollen ankles, with a wide foot. Shoes are hard to find for her that allows her to be on her feet all day. These shoes are a good fit because the sides stretch out a bit. I am not sure that she will get a long time use out of them. I did buy her two pairs (a different Propet) so she could switch them out, maybe that will extend the life of them. They look really nice on her, not the typical medically necessary shoe. She is 73 but does like to wear regular looking shoes :)

A picture of disappointment.
My wife was very happy with these shoes until she wore them then the fabric sides started to have the red color come off. As you can imagine, she is now very unhappy with this pair of shoes.

I will have to spend $6-10 on some archy inserts to remedy the situation, but for this price, I can afford to do that.
Nice enough looking shoes, quality construction, and I like the color. (3 stars) I purchased these on sale for $28.98 and think they are a great value for that price. Now the honest criticism: Arch support is about a 2 out of 5 so -1 star The insole/insert is very slim and flimsy, the writing inside wore off on day 1, and the shoe is on a downward slope, so I slide forward -1 star When I look down at the shoes, the lining of the shoes is a light tan, and the lining is visible around the edges, and I think that gives them a low-quality appearance. These are the first shoes I've purchased by Propet, I will have to spend $6-10 on some archy inserts to remedy the situation, but for this price, I can afford to do that.

Great shoe to fit ankle/foot orthotic
I really like these shoes. I have a different problem with shoes than most women have. I wear an ankle/foot orthotic on my right foot that is made of hard plastic. That makes my right foot wider than my left. I need shoes that are wider and stretchable is very helpful. In the summer, I can wear sandals and most of the time, in winter, I can wear athletic shoes. But I occasionally need dressier shoes and these fit the bill. They stretch to accommodate my orthotic and the strap can be tightened on my left foot. I also like that these shoes has 2 insoles that can be used together or singly to get the proper fit. Both insoles are out to accommodate my orthotic and both insoles stay in so my left foot fits. I would highly recommend these shoes. At least try them if you have trouble with different sized feet or wear an orthotic.

Very pleased with the shoe quality
Very pleased with the shoe quality. The fit was a larger than expected. I actually ordered 1 size lower than I normally buy in shoe stores. I have a bunion and normally order 9.5 in store to accommodate my wider foot. I ordered 8.5 here in the wider width. I could have gotten the regular wide. BUT - Love the sides - which are softer leather and fit the front of the foot very comfortable. For those that want a wider fit, comfortable shoe - this is it!
