Not for a first timer,must know a little about RC boats
I love the boat very sturdy,but as I live in the northeast it's still. Cold and witery so I haven't had the chance for a maiden run yet but I'm very excited to take it out on the water as soon as the. Ice melts on the lake.

defective boat on many levels. Very unhappy with this boat. If Horizon Hobby doesnt work with me on this issue, then I will have a hard timte supporting them in the future. Not to mention, I just created a Youtube channel to show off the boats. This boat had a defective plug on the esc, a scratch on the top of it, and the flex shaft broke after 5 mins of running the boat for the very first time.

So far I'm very pleased with this rc boat. Very little setup to get running good. Out of the box almost ready to go. First thing, after checking and tightening hardware I pulled the flex shaft cleaned it off and throughly greased and reinstalled. I then replaced stock prop with an Octura x445, installed 2 HRB 11.1 5000 lipos and 4 AA batteries in transmitter and hit the water. All I can say is WOW, this little sweetheart is blistering fast. It doesn't take turns at high speeds very well as it tends to roll easily. After getting the batteries in just the right place for proper CG it's all out full throttle high speed passes. Run times are a conservative 5 to 6 minutes with a pair of 5000's which isn't too bad. Using a Skyrc GPS speed meter the peak speed is 56 mph. One thing that I didn't like is the battery hookup wire harness, its very short and makes it difficult to connect the batteries in such a small space. I'll probably redo the ESC wiring in the future to make it easier to connect and disconnect the batteries. Another thing that I'll probably upgrade is the cooling system to a dual water pickup rudder to cool the motor and esc separately. For the price I would have liked if the dual pickup rudder came stock like the Blackjack 42 does.

Do not buy this garbage
This has so much potential but it is so poorly made. The first time I took it out parts started falling off, then the prop went. For $600 this is an absolute piece of garbage. The manufacturer should be embarrassed to even sell this. Find something better out there, do not waste your time on this junk.
