Good purchase
Had several months now and it's held up fine. Packaging said to hand clean, but I've washed it in the washer twice on the delicate cycle with cold water and dried it in the dryer on extra low heat and it's in fine shape. Haven't used the travel bag. The only cons would be that it's not non-slip on the bottom and it could stand to be a little bigger.

3 mats in 3 years (original/updated reviews)
Update (10/2016) - 3 stars: Well these only last about 18 months and looks like I'll need them for more than a few years. My 3.5yo still manages to make a crazy mess and I'm pregnant with my third now. I purchased 3 of these total since about July 2013 and I just said goodbye to my second, the backing coming completely apart basically from putting it through the washer and dryer. That's one left and not putting it in the dryer is helping keep it in good condition. I paid (about) $9.50 for the first, $10.50 for the second and $13.50 for the third. Now that I needed a new one at about $15.50 it was getting too expensive to be worth it. Bottom line: Buy the bumkins. I found one on sale for just under $14 though it's not the pattern I'd prefer I'll live with it. The bumkins is lighter weight (for shaking crumbs into the sink) and can go in the dryer as per the tag. And it folds up smaller for storage Wish I'd started out with it. Original Review April 2015 - 4 stars: I have two of these. One for each kid. I put this in the washer and the dryer. After a bunch of washes in the dryer it starts to separate the top and bottom a little and it's softer but it doesn't take away the purpose which is to keep all the baby/toddler bits off the floor and easily able to dump and clean. I honestly like the bumkins material better and it's thinner (easily transportable) and square. It's lighter weight and dries faster but the difference between paying $20 and $8 for something that I would only need for a few years and may grab a few more future uses from wasn't worth the extra $. Especially because I already had one of these. Plus the bumkins patterns are so ugly. Oh, and they still manage to get food outside the circle.... ;)

Thin, slick, and not safe under kiddie table
I wouldn’t recommend this be placed on a hard surface. We placed this under a kiddie table on our hardwood floor, and our 1 year old slipped twice the first day. This mat is thin, very slick, and not heavy enough for the rounded edges to lay flat. Because of this, placing it under the table meant that the table would slide across the mat when the kids tried to sit down or leaned on it. Depending on how they sat in their chairs, their chair would slide backwards on the mat. Then of course, if they’re both on opposite sides of the table, and one is sitting, and the other is standing or leaning against the table too much, they end up pushing the other kid backwards. I’m considering using this mat as a kiddie table cover during arts & crafts. My biggest concern is that it might lead to paint and water cups sliding across the table. And having to clean up my floor because I’m having to use the floor mat as a table cover is just really backwards and NOT on my list of fun things to do. Purpose: Purchased for under a kiddie play table. Cleaning: It seemed like it would be really easy to clean.

Great/multipurpose
I love this for under my son’s high chair any time we eat out. It makes it so much easier to clean up after him! I keep it in my diaper bag for traveling. I’ve also used it as a picnic mat. One of my favorite purchases.

Great
I got this to go under my highchair, which is really what it's meant fot. 1. It's plenty big. Anything my daughter is going to toss or drop from her high chair will be caught by this. When she's 2 and decides to throw things across the room, maybe not, but at the current size, it offers full coverage under the highchair with at least a full foot around it. 2. The quality is great! It's similar to a Bumkins bibs, but a bit thicker. It's that crinkly water resistant material that's still softer than a slick plastic and almost feels like cloth. It is not at ALL cheap quality. If you were looking for a play space, this isn't it. If you were looking for something to put under your kid who is sitting to eat or paint or do something similar, this is great. And yeah, it's gray/white/orange and no "beige" anywhere. That's great for me. Highly recommend. When it gets gross, just run it under the faucet in the tub and ring dry. Nothing messy to toss in the washer.

Makes life less messy
I really like this but to clean it, don’t be lazy and put it in the washer, mine unraveled at the seams a little, I think it’s cute, I like it, I can fix the seam issue but I can sweep crumbs off it or take it outside and spray it with the hose and let hang to dry twice a week, better than mopping and sweeping everyday I think

Super Helpful!
This makes cleaning up after mealtime easier. We put this under our one-year-olds highchair and it catches most of what hits the floor. Whether it's solids or liquids, this keeps it off of our hardwood and area rug. After meals, we shake it off outside, wipe it down, and I occasionally throw in the washer on the delicate cycle.

Perfect splat mat. Easy to clean and light-weight
I've been using this for about 3 months to protect the carpet from all the food my almost 1-year-old son drops, and I have no complaints whatsoever. I use it under our high chair and the size is perfect. It catches all the food my son drops. Lately, he's been trying to use a spoon to feed himself and often times he ends up throwing food all over by swinging the spoon too hard, but it still catches everything. After a messy meal, I simply remove the high chair, roll up the mat with all the food, walk to the trash can and dump it all off. When there's stain, I wipe it with a wipe and it cleans very nicely. For crunchy food that got stuck, I recommend using the Boogie wipes. Every couple days I throw it in the washing machine and dryer (cold water, low dryer setting) and it comes out perfectly. It is also very light weight and folds up pretty compactly, so you could totally tuck this in a pouch and take it along when you know you're going to be eating at someone's house. Recommended to my sister and she loves it for her almost 3-year-old too.

Catch All Floor Mat
This is ideal to protect your carpet when baby starts on solids.

Does the job
I mean, you're not going to be getting dexter levels of splash protection but if you buy a house off someone who inexplicably thinks cream wool pile is a excellent choice of flooring for a dining room this'll keep you sane when your wee one is being a bawsack with his beans. For example.

Buy something more suitable
On top of the poor buying experience by me having the wrong item sent - it was square, not circular and the pattern is completely different - the material really isn't fit for purpose. Because it is a fabric-type material any food going on this would not be cleaned off easily. Also the poor stitching around the edges started coming apart before we even tried it and would also make cleaning tricky. Sent back for a refund but still waiting weeks later.
