Solid piece of hardware. Useless instructions.

This does what it is supposed to do, but the instructions were essentially useless. Suggestions around the size of drillbit to use would be welcome, as well as suggestions for doors set up other than the way in the example. It works, though it’s not simple to install.

They are re-keyable!

OK, being a locksmith by trade, they are not intended as such, but if you're technically-minded, having discovered that if you purchase more than one, that they are random-keyed (not keyed-alike), you can easily pull the core out and re-arrange the tumblers to a limited degree and achieve some of your purchase keyed-alike. Of course, a locksmith has a tumbler kit to make this easier. So just realize, if you need a bunch of these for a project, some will come keyed-alike, others won't. For example, my order of a dozen resulted in Keyed-Alike groups of 4, 3, 3, 2. Lock wholesale suppliers don't generally carry this stuff, as they're considered "trinket" cheapy locks, but they have their place for low-security needs. You will want to use different screws if installed on metal doors/windows, the supplied ones are too soft. And, needless to say, they shouldn't be installed on doors/windows where they would impede egress in an emergency. And white is not my desired color, but beggars can't be choosers. These are marketed under various names, but seems if intended for residential market, they're white, for commercial, they're dull silver.

Sturdy, easy to use lock

Needed to lock our terrace door, for the safety of visiting grandchildren. Once installed (drill was needed) the lock was simple to use.

This is a great product for sliding windows we have.

This product is easy to install and is very sturdy. I bought other products and didn’t like them as well as I like these locks. I highly recommend buying.

Reccomended by a longtime professional contractor

Not the easiest install, it takes a bit of skill with drilling holes and a chisel or carving knife to used the metal plate on a wooden window or door. I do like the metal insert for the drilled hole and the way the ateike plate is designed. Pretty decent little lock that ia pretty strong. It works very well once installed, very easy to operate. I installed 2 onto swing in or french casement windows that I made for a client. I am a renovation contractor and have done some high end work with top products and I would buy these again for the right job. No complaints. They do what they're supposed to do, they are inexpensive and not bad looking at all. Reccomended.

Used to Keep Alzheimer's Patient from Wandering Outside

Works great to lock my patio doors. My 91 year old father who has Alzheimer's is now safe from being able to leave the house and wander at night. I was able to secure my front door, but needed something so that he couldn't leave through the patio doors. I gave it 4 stars for installation because you do need to drill holes in the frame of the patio doors to install it. Fortunately I am a 'handy woman" who knows how to use drills and tools. If you are not handy with a drill you may have to have someone help you with this part of the installation. Once installed, you just push it in when you want the doors locked and no one can open the door from the inside or the outside without the key. When you want to unlock the door, just unlock with the key.

Great for keeping my autistic son from running out the door

I already had a mounting for a different sliding door pin lock so I just removed it and installed this one with a key lock. Comes with two keys. Easy to mount. This prevents my 11 year old son from leaving out the back door unexpectedly. wouldn't recommend for outdoor use as water would accumulate in the mechanism.
