Good design and materials; poor quality control
This door stop looks like a strong design not likely to break, but at the same time can be used with a door that has as little as 3/16" gap above the floor (but not more than about 9/16"). The rubber portion is fairly hard (a little harder than a pencil eraser), but that's probably good for long wear. The design -- a steel post at the rear, which goes through the rubber insert and screws in to the door stop casting, to absorb the force of a door strike, with one screw in the front to anchor and orient the stop -- does require one hole in the flooring and subfloor that's bigger than a design that just uses screws (1/4" diameter x 1 3/16" deep hole). But that seems like a reasonable tradeoff to have a robust stop. Note that, although the packaging asserts this product is solid brass, it clearly is not. You can see from areas that have been machined on the bottom that the door stop body is some kind of pot metal (probably zinc alloy). But the one I received only warrants two stars at best, because the threaded hole in the casting was not bored straight, so that the steel post, once screwed-in, is not perpendicular to the door stop body. See photos showing that the post itself is straight, but once installed in the door stop the post is at an angle. This makes it almost impossible to install the door stop, with no way to drill the hole for the post into the floor at the correct angle and orientation. (Note that, even if the post had been straight, it would have been far easier to install if the blisterpac cardboard, or an insert, had included a template, since one can't mark the post position when the door stop body is sitting on the floor.)

It stops every door
Remember Gandalf and the Balrog in Lord of the Rings? "You cannot pass!". Well, this door stop is like that, but for doors. When properly installed, no door can defeat it.
