Hard to break, Are they really reversible?

Holy cow are these hard to break off at the lines. I bent and distorted and tried and could not get a clean break. Maybe I just got a bad batch? I also had a hard time making them fit on the left side. I could only get them to work on the right side...did not seem reversible? Instructions showing how to reverse install would have been nice.

Decent crank, annoying break off arm

Good product, at least for the first week of use. But the "break off" link was a total annoyance -- it's quite challenging to get a clean break without distorting the adjacent link hole. No clue why "sheerness" is on here, it actually makes me worried about review hijacking or other shenanigans.

Works as it should

Great replacement for my stripped out operators. Easy to assemble and use. I used a dremel with a cutoff disc to cut the unneeded length off just so I didn’t bend the metal. I will be getting more to replace all the others.

Nice but aint reversible

Works pretty well. Has all the hardware you need. Buuutttt it aint reversible. Only worked one way for me. Just sayin. Update. Uummm now that I look at it some more. I believe it is reversible. My first time installing these. Had to puzzle it out some. Now its easy

Perfect replacement for tropical climate glass jalousie operators

Replaced quite a few of my old window operators with these, works on both left and right hand sides if you rotate the product 180 degrees. Very smooth, and sturdy product. Comes with a light grease in the gears for easy operation.

I have some older doors, so I was concerned I might not be able to find the right replacement part, but this louver operator fits perfectly and works great!

Too bad both my husband and I wasted at least two ...

Unfortunately this is not usable as left or right hand side opener as shown by the product description. Too bad both my husband and I wasted at least two hours thinking we are dumb. After a nights rest We both came to the conclusion that we received left hand side hardware. The return time limit is Oct 20th so thank you for that. I am sure it's a good product but the hassle is reason for 1 star. The time we wasted and of all things I ordered an extra just in case we need it for an other window. We have all right side openers. I have no use for this product. I think you just need to describe it Left Side Only Opener. The photo will show you that the pin and clip ends up sticking out where it needs to be flush to let the mechanism pass smoothly instead of blocking as this happens to be. This is kind of funny since my husband is a rocket scientist engineer and he implicitly trusted me to have ordered the right thing. Please don't take this review too hard, just trying to save time for any one that might fall for the universal thing. I just came home with model 17370 window replacement operator from Ace Hardware and I assure you we did not fare better, until I purchased

Quality of item exceeds original.

Much easier than trying to find locally this dated piece of window hardware. If you are somewhat talented in home repair you have all of what you need to replace the old with the new.
