Great product!

We absolutely loved this product! My daughter has been asking for rainbow hair for a while and I finally checked into it. Turns out it was cheapest and easiest to just do it myself. I came across recommendations for which type to use and I gave it a go. She has lighter brown hair and I read we should bleach it some first which we did but for only 10 minutes. We didn’t go higher than where we would be comfortable cutting just incase it went wrong. After that I chose four colors from pravana vivid colorsilks. Aquamarine, topaz blue, violet and magenta I believe. I mixed half and half with conditioner. It was really easy to cleanup when I washed it off of her too and I didn’t have the other issues I’ve seen people posting about a huge mess in the sink or shower. The colors were a bit dark/heavy until about 3 to 4 washes in and then it is bright and amazing (see my first picture of this two weeks in). After about six to eight weeks it faded more but mostly the pink and the purple. We are 11 weeks in on the second picture and I believe I will reapply soon as the pink is very light/pastel now but we still love it. The blue topaz held the color the best after 11 weeks but aquamarine and purple are still going string as well. We will definitely be using again!

color did not stick or blend well with other color

I use this with a second color, the same brand dye, and did a 50/50 split. Where they met and I blended them just did not look right in the end. The blue did not stick to the hair very well, but the other color (violet) stuck perfectly. I had to go to the store and buy a different dye the next day to actually get the color I wanted. My hair was prelightened to a level 8.

Vivids and pastels

I ordered aquarium and received lavender.... This is the best semi permanent hair dye I've found. I've been buying this brand for years. This is the first time I received the wrong color.

Tube was damaged

The end of the tube came folded and when moved the folded part a hole opened up at the crease. I don't remember ever receiving a pravana color with a folded end before, so it's possible that the box had been opened before I received it. I plan to use the product within a couple days so I won't be returning it, but if you intend to store this it could be a problem

I thought they sent the wrong color...

When I first opened the tube, I thought they'd sent the wrong color. The dye was a dull blue. I was disappointed, but I didn't want to go through the hassle of a return so I decided to use it anyway. When i washed it out, it actually turned out pretty close to the positive results others have posted. Not quite the color on the box, but it's still pretty. The downside is, even though my hair is fairly short, one tube was not enough to get full coverage. Overall, my hair took the color pretty well, aside from a few strands that didn't quite get the full treatment. I wish the color were darker, but overall a decent purchase and I will be ordering more now that i know what to expect.

It's ok

First photo is iroiro turquoise, a true turquoise color. The second shows this color at the top of my hair, it is definitely not teal or turquoise in any sort of way, it's more of a blue. I am not sure that it is even genuine. The violet (which is Pravana and has very blue undertones) stays in my hair for 6-8+ weeks, but this blue is already fading after 2 washes. If you're looking for a turquoise color, I wouldn't really recommend this one. I should've listened to the other reviews. It's pretty, but just not what I was wanting. Should've just left the top with the iroiro.

Best vivids for longevity, color, and hair health

I’ve been using Provana vivids for a year now and I’ve had more compliments than with any other brand. The colors are vibrant and beautiful. I was my hair once a week in cold water and the color last a long time. My hair is also healthier since I’ve been using this brand. My stylist is even impressed at how much it’s grown since I switched (and I’ve changed colors a handful of times within the last year). I would definitely recommend this brand to anyone who wants to play around with color without destroying their hair.
