Almost Perfect, but flawed mesh pockets
These are my favorite pants because they are highly versatile, great for travel but still look like normal pants. The only issue is their mesh pockets, which will rip in the long term. The material is thin and dries very quickly. Making it easy to pack and hand wash while traveling. The pockets are also the jeans style pocket, which makes items far less likely to fall out of than the slit style pockets found in other pants. The only issue I have with them is the mesh material in the pockets, similar to what you would find in swim trunks. Over 1 - 3 years I've gotten a few rips in the pockets. I'm able to sew them up, but eventually I'll have to replace them. The mesh also causes issues in warm climates. My cell phone is in direct contact with my skin because of the holes in the mesh. So if I'm sweating, my phone gets sweaty. Gross. This will also damage papers in your pocket. While this can happen in other pants, this happens much more often with the mesh. I contacted customers support to ask them why they use mesh, the replied that it's so that people could use the pants as impromptu swim trunks. While I understand the trade off, I don't think it's worth it. These are still my favorite pants. When I can't fix the pockets any more I'll probably just get a tailor to replace the mesh with real pockets, or just buy another pair. I haven't found another pair of pants that's quite this versatile while still looking good.

the best material yet, but out of production
prana's zion material is hands-down the best pants material. also, the cut and fit of the brion is about 85% perfect. i've owned/tried products from kuhl, or, mountain hardwear, patagonia, outlier, rei, marmot, and more. for me, the brion's have been perfect because of their versatility and durability allowing me to wear them for traveling abroad, bike commuting, wearing on dates, and standard daily use. this is why it saddens me that prana's not only changed the zion material (to re-zion) but also made minor alterations that's honestly worsened the pants in my opinion. but (honestly) i think prana has always let opportunities slip through their fingers when it comes to their clothes. fyi, these are not "slim" as pictures might suggest. also, these aren't in production anymore.

Prana makes the best pants!
I have 5 pairs of the stretch zion pants and 4 pairs of the shorts, and I love them! They're in my rotation year round and are my go to when I'm not wearing jeans. The Brions are made of the same material as the Zion pants, just without the built in belt (which i kinda wish they had), and no cargo pocket. They're also laid out like jeans in terms of pocket style and location. I can rock these at work with a dress shirt and be good to go, or wear them to dinner. They don't really look like typical North Face hiking pants, that LOOK like hiking pants. These are much more subtle. These are clutch when you need something that looks a lil nicer than jeans while still being breathable and comfortable, especially in hot summer weather. The fit on these is great as well. The thighs are just right err for me at least. I hike, mountain bike, and cycle so my thighs are a lil bigger than most... take that into consideration as fit will depend on your activity/work out level... if you're on the skinnier side these might be a lil baggy in the legs for you. I can also wear these in Chicago in the winter. My base layer fits comfortably underneath them with out feeling tight or bunched up. I'm 5'6", 145, and I got a 30x30. They're a smidge long for me if I'm wearing boots or a bigger shoe, so I cuff them. Vans or chucks, or low top Nikes, you're good to go. Stop reading this review and add to cart! You won't look back.

Very good pants with just some minor set backs.
Alright, so I've worn these pants for literally a month straight while traveling and only took them off to shower (yes, I even slept in them). I bought two pairs - one black and one charcoal. The first criticism I have is about the color. In my opinion, the colors are a bit lighter than expected, with the black looking more charcoal than the charcoal, and the charcoal falling closer to a deeper shade of gray. Not really a big issue to me, as I actually prefer it that way, though it is slightly misleading. My second criticism is that these pants spot a bit easy, whether it's food or dirt. They are incredibly easy to clean though and a damp rag or towel takes off any spots very easily. The last negative thing about these pants are the back pockets. They are a bit short for my phone and the mesh lining in there makes it very easy for it to slip out. I wouldn't risk putting my phone in there as one move could have it slip out and crash onto the ground. Another thing about the mesh pockets is that if you're sweating, the moisture will seep through the pockets, which isn't great if you have stuff in there that shouldn't get moist. Now for the good things... As I said, I wore these pants for a month straight. They are VERY comfortable whether you're being active or just lounging around. The materials is pretty great - a lot of stretch for movement, water proof & fast drying, easy to clean, and breathable. These pants can be dressed up or down depending on which color you get. They look like normal pants, but they are so much more than that. I definitely prefer prAna Brion over jeans now.

Okay so far, "boot cut" style
Quality seems good, and the pants fit well, but the color is not as shown - it is far more green than blue/grey - and these are almost flares. They say slim fit, these are more like boot cut or bigger. The cuffs on both of my pairs measure 9 3/8 - 9 1/2 across - that is not a slim cut leg, that is two inches wider than a slim cut. Otherwise happy with these pants and look forward to wearing them on vacation after a quick trip to the tailor.

Love these!
Full disclosure, I'm a big fan of Prana and these pants are no exception. I own their shirts, vests and multiple styles of pants - all of which seem to fit my body well and the construction holds up to whatever I throw at it. Whether I'm bouldering in the evenings, travelling or camping out of a backpack, doing chores around the house or groceries with the Mrs...this Zion fabric is great! With the charcoal colour, I'm even planning to wear these into the office on casual Fridays! Great fit, great fabric, great build. Buy Prana.

Good fit and feel! Nice stretch and flexibility
Generally hard to find the smaller waist sizes, but this one does work well and feels super comfortable with a nice stretch and fit. The only negative thing I can say about this is that I wish they would make them a bit more low-rise on the waist. Seems like companies like them and Arcteryx don't get the point about fashion these days and that people do want pants that a bit more fashionable with regard to a nice, low-rise fit.

Nice fit..good quality
Well made. Material is as described, not flimsy. Seams are straight and well finished. Good quality zipper. Nice cut. This is the third pair I have purchased for my husband and son. They like them and will purchase again. I have only washed them a couple times. So far they seem to keep their shape/fit after each wash.
