As stated by most...
This is a great idea as a 2 in 1 hydraulic jack and stand. BE mindful this is meant for trucks/jeeps and most SUVS. As clearance is an issue. I did not have any issues with it leaking hydraulic fluid. I do believe that the way the bottle jack is bolted on to the stand is pretty flimsy... Look to another review for someone who modded it to be more solid. With that being said, the thing that this jack suffers from the most has been stated by others. Which is that by design the bottle jack is not directly beneath the stand. Meaning that even if you're lifting this in a completely flat base, there's a good chance that it will lean slightly to the left when lifted. This will cause the jack stand to bind whenever it is lowered. So you may find yourself with a car that's stuck jacked up... This happened to me and for a minute I panicked. Then I realized that by spraying a touch of lubricant (in my case I chose silicon oil) allowed me to bring the jack completely back down. If you find yourself in this situation. Grab your preferred lubricant raise the jack slightly above the point where it bound and lubricate. Then release the jack and it should come down enough for you to be able to remove it. It's handy for basic work required underneath your vehicle. Mechanics may find better uses for it. For changing a tire it's really subjective. As a simple jack should do since you have no reason to get under the car. Thought I suppose with a basic hydraulic jack, there's always the possibility that it may fail. This is the reason this product was created which was two alleviate that possibility.

good idea
This device can save you from having to try to find a place on your vehicle to put the jack and jack stand at the same . Of course that would be when you have jacked up the vehicle but want to place a jack stand to support the weight in case the jack itself should fail and the vehicle fall [ especially with you under it ] . I have owned one of these before and made the mistake of loaning it to jerk who found a way make it stop working. So I know it is possible to do but don't know exactly how he did it . So be careful . My complaint is that I had to go to Powerbuilt's website to try to find out about the warranty . Nothing at Amazon or that came with the tool says anything about a warranty . So the website gives no detail at all and just says "1 year " . I would feel much better if the manufacturer would clearly show details about the warranty that were easy to find .I'm not sure their corporate heart is going to be in it if i have a warranty claim .

Very idea and works. But could be better engineered. For most weekend work they are very handy.

Good combination of lift and support
This Powerbuilt combination hydraulic jack and jack stand is handy. I purchased two and use them to lift my truck prior to setting my 3 ton ESCO jack stands in place. After dropping the truck onto the stands, I pump the Powerbuilt back up until it contacts the frame for back-up support. Pros: Powerful, heavy and stable. Cons: A bit quirky to use at first, although a little practice before the job starts sorts thing out. The pump lever for the hydraulic jack comes in two sections. It's connection point is poorly designed and will not stay in place. I modified mine by fusing the two together permanently with JB Weld. While I was at it, I added a hand grip to the 'grip' end of the lever for better purchase. And lastly, the safety bar has a spring loaded ball bearing inserted (like a ratchet) to keep the bar from falling out of possession after insertion. However, it's so poorly placed that the safety bar slides in and out of position with no resistance when not under actual pressure. This last issue caused me to drop a star from the review.

Solid quality build
The jack initially appears to be very well built. I have just purchased the unit and have not used it on a vehicle yet. Before I purchased the unijack I did a lot of checking on the lift dimensions as there seemed to be much discrepancy in the reviews. The box says that the jack is 11 inches tall at the minimum height. YES, that is the true dimension. I had replies to my question of from 11 to 12 inches. I am not sure where people were measuring. The information also states that the jack has a range of 11 to 21 inches. Again, this is true, but this wide range is only achieved by raising the jack support section. With the jack support in the lowest pin level, the jack is at 11 inches. With the jack support in the highest pin position the jack is at 15 inches. The most important piece of information that is missing anywhere is the stroke length of the bottle jack. One gentlemen was very kind to reply to my inquiry about the stoke length with the CORRECT and EXACT measurement. The STROKE LENGTH of the bottle jack is 6.5 inches. For my case, with the clearance that I have to place the jack under my 2016 Jeep Cherokee, I have to start the jack at its minimum height of 11 inches. This means that my maximum lift height is 11 inches plus 6.5 inches, for a maximum lift height of 17.5 inches. For my requirement this is sufficient with about 1 inch to spare. THIS JACK WILL NOT LIFT FROM 11 TO 21 INCHES IN ONE GO. If you start with the jack support extended to 15 inches, then the maximum lift height will be 21 and a bit inches. There are four holes in the jack support about 1 inches apart, so that is the starting point adjustment that you have. I hope that my explanation makes sense and helps some people make a more informed decision. Thank you to those who replied to my inquiry. UPDATE November 03, 2018. Well, I used this jack in anger two days ago to put my winter tyres on my 2016 Jeep Cherokee after we had out first snow in Edmonton . The jack/support worked great. Very stable, very strong. I used a modified hockey puck to sit on top of the support side. I cut two slots on one side of the puck to match the support top profile, and a small groove on the other side to accept the pinch weld. This cut is basically more of a guide to ensue the jack is centred on the pinch weld. I glued a piece of hard cardboard on the bottom side of the puck to fit between the two grooves so that the puck would not be pushed down and deformed on each lift. After jacking the puck showed not signs of deformation. Just one point. When you release the pressure off the jack and lower the vehicle, the bottle jack will NOT continue to fall down to the original starting position, unlike a floor jack. You will need to reach under the vehicle and put some force on the top of the jack to push the piston down. I only needed to move mine down a bit then could tip the jack out and push the remainder of the distance to the bottom once out from under the vehicle. Just make sure that you have the jack support stop bar lifted. I think that once the jack is used more, it might not be as stiff to push down. Still a great safe jack.

Seems like value for the money for this kind of functionality.
Will after just buying this thing I haven't had to use it yet because of the nature of the device. It looks like a well integrated device using a bottlenose Hydraulic Jack & Jack stand combined. The operation of it is simple as I did try that out of the box. The welding of the jack stand is looking possibly the point of failure that could occur due to heavy Vehicles being put on it, but I'll cross that bridge if I come to it. It's rated at 4000 pounds and there's nothing I would use this on that would put 4,000 pounds of weight on this device. The Jack and protective jack stand all in one. Sure save space on multiple devices

I bought two of these.
These jacks are simply the easiest and most effective jacks i have ever come across. I use two to raise the front on my SUV or two to raise the back as needed. Previously i used a floor jack and two jack stands but tat required more jack points to be successful. Very solid and well made.

Useless...
These are pretty useless in practice. I purchased the smaller 4000lb size to jack up my Hyundai Santa Fe SUV. They just barely fit under the jack points at thier lowest setting, which is OK, except that it damages the piece that the cylinder lifts with, anyway, at full lift (only 4.5 inches!) it couldn't lift the wheel off the ground since the vehicle has more than 5.5 in of negative travel available. For a car, you wouldn't fit these under it. For a truck, you don't need this anyway since you can jack wherever and place jackstands wherever. Therefore, this is a useless product. IF it had a two stage lift cylinder and had a total lift of 8 inches it would be FAR more useful. The advertised lift range is a lie. That is including the extendable JACKSTAND top that you can only set unloaded...like any other jackstand. The key here is the lift is only 4.5in regardless of how you extend that. To lift to 18 inch you would have to fit the unit under the vehicle at rest of 13.5 inch.... I ended up just using traditional jackstands and a floor jack that does 3 inch up to 16 inch no problem.
