Rugged
I have one that is 6 or 7 years old very sturdy wanted another one. The stitching on the new one is not as flat and smooth as my original. Quality is the same but sewing could be better

Like a Backpack in Your Pocket
I've been meaning to get a new wallet for months, now, but, when I recently pulled out my wallet at Lowe's only to see my credit cards go sailing across the floor, I knew it was time to act! I went to all the usual places, but could only find more thin leather wallets with names like Hilfiger, Abboud, and Kors emblazoned across them. Having just had a similar wallet virtually disintegrate over the course of a year, I knew I wanted something heavy-duty. That's where the Maxpedition Spartan comes in. I'd read a bunch of reviews, and even watched a few "box openings" on YouTube, and it piqued my interest. I figured, for $17 bucks and change, I'd give it a shot, and ordered one. The wallet came super fast (thanks seller!) and, when I opened the package, I was shocked to see that it was more than two inches taller than the wallet it was destined to replace. I emptied out the overflowing contents of the ratty leather number and jammed them into the Maxpedition's myriad nooks and crannies. When I was done, the Maxpedition was about an inch thick, but still had plenty of space for more, including a nifty "hidden" pocket, numerous credit card slots, and a smartly divided area for currency. There's even a netted "window" on the outside of the wallet for my license. "Sounds great, Head Cheeze! So why not five stars?" you ask. Well, I'll tell you why. While the Maxpedition does fit in my pocket, a good inch or so peaks out from it, making it a prime target for fast-fingered thieves! I began to consider various means of attaching a lanyard to it so I can at least clip it to a belt loop, but, sadly, the wallet doesn't have any sort of attachments to hook onto (unlike the Civilian Labs offerings, which I also considered). So, while I'm exceptionally pleased by the construction and roominess, I'm not thrilled about the so-enticing extra inch of wallet sticking out of my back pocket.

Love it
I've used the Maxpedition Micro Wallet for years. But, the plastic ID cover was cracking so I decided to get a new wallet. I thought about just picking up another Micro, but, I had long been a little unhappy with just how little I could carry. Yes, I want to minimize my wallet size (I have friends who have wallets that are easily an inch thick with crap), but I still need to carry slightly more than 8 cards (no, I'm not some crazed credit card freak, but if you have an drivers license, an ID card, and just two credit cards, you're already up to four, now add in a medical card, airport lounge membership card and a couple of other IDs and you already won't have room for business cards or a challenge coin). So, I went with the Spartan. It is bigger. Maybe even, slightly, too big. But, it's made out of the same tough material that my Micro was (and several other Maxpedition bags that I own). And it's laid out in an excellent way so that I'll be able to carrry a minimum of junk in a secure fashion, but carry more than I could with the Micro. While I do like the tie down velcro straps on the inside, I kind of wish there was only one, so I could have a set of easily accessed pockets as well as a set of very secure pockets. The wallet fits well in my front pocket, although it is, just a tad big. I would never carry any wallet in my back pocket, but unlike others reviews here, it fits within my back pockets, no problem. Everything about this just screams of the quality of construction of other Maxpedition gear.

Sturdy wallet with lots of pockets
I had been carrying the same inexpensive leather wallet for many years, until it began to fall apart. I recently became a fan of Maxpedition products after purchasing several pouches and a jumbo verispack. So I decided to give this wallet a try. Overall, I'm very pleased with the quality and design of the Spartan wallet. After carrying it around for several months, it still looks brand new. The wallet features numerous pockets, including two long enough to hold paper currency and three that can hold credit and business cards. Finally, there's a small mesh pouch on the outside that can hold a few cards or some spare change. The wallet shuts via a velcro strip; it is quite noisy when opening but everything is held very securely. In addition, two small velcro strips inside hold in the credit/business cards, so nothing is going to fall out of this wallet. I personally am not a fan of the small interior velcro strips, as they are somewhat difficult to keep open when rummaging through the wallet -- they keep flopping shut. Presumably, they can be cut out of the wallet, although I'm hesitant to do so. Despite the few drawbacks, I'm very pleased with this wallet. The Maxpedition quality is evident here, and the price is a real bargain. The wallet also is quite slim, so it easily fits in my front pants pocket. What the Spartan lacks in elegance is more than compensated by its excellent functionality.

Great Wallet
Very functional wallet. It is made in the typical Maxpedition high quality style. Several compartments and card slots are very functional. Two velcro straps go over each of the credit card slot columns which hold the cards in place even though the cards do not slide out without the strap. The wallet falls into the category of most nylon style tactical wallets in that it is not a slim style at all. I carry it in my front pocket. It fits fine, but it prints clearly on the pocket fabric and I can feel it's presence. These are not problems for me, just an FYI point.

I guess maybe my own fault I was disappointed, because the listing had a lot of detail ...
a lot bigger than I expected and holds a bit less. I guess maybe my own fault I was disappointed, because the listing had a lot of detail in it. But as a warning, you would struggle to fit this bad boy in your pack pocket of a normal pair of trousers.

Best wallet I have ever had
This is a capacious wallet without being too bulky. The velcro seal on the card section means your cards won't fall out. I particularly like the card pocket at the back which lets you scan the card without taking it out of the wallet. The wallet is not slippery like leather wallets - so it stays where you put it. A high quality, strongly constructed item - well worth the money.

Very large
Much larger than I anticipated. My mistake and the only reason for 4 stars. Other than that the wallet is very well made with the materials. The little Velcro straps for the cards can be kinda clumsy when using then and the wallet is stiff to open.

Quality.
You get what you pay for. This is quality. I don't miss a coin section and if you wanted this could hold them. Not as bulky as some say and plenty of storage.
