Center tube is too short for wide paper rolls

We purchased this toilet paper holder for our guest bath. It is very well made, and has a nice appearance and solid quality feel. The center tube that holds the paper roll is actually machined from solid brass, not a thin tube with a spring inside most like other designs. However, we are returning it to Amazon, because the center tube is too short to use with the wider toilet paper rolls that we prefer. It will probably work with the narrower (cheaper) rolls that have become popular with toilet paper manufacturers in the past few years. The problem here is the combination of the tube length and the thickness (width) of the bulb-shaped holders at the ends. The holders provided with this style "Kingston Brass BA1758ORB Heritage" are so wide that they greatly reduce the available space for the paper roll between the holders. The present tube length may work with other end pieces that are narrower and less bulbous designs, but Kingston Brass should provide a longer center tube with this style of holder. I have given this product 4 stars, because although it is a very well made, it cannot accommodate all standard sizes of paper rolls, and this limitation was not noted in the description.

Nice, but not easy to install

This product matches our faucets which are also Kingston Brass, but these toilet rolls are very finicky to install. You will need a tiny flathead screwdriver (like the ones you use for fixing eyeglasses) as it does not come with one. And the plastic screw backs they give you are very flimsy and did not hold the product, which is heavy; my husband ended up having to buy new screw backs. Also, be aware of the spacing; if you space the ends too close the toilet paper will not roll. After all that hassle, they are pretty to look at and do match the sink.

Also had spring break inside

Similar to another review, We also had a spring break and be stuck inside of the roller so it’s no longer functional. can’t seem to find a replacement. We’ve had it a couple years. It’s mounted to the tiles on the wall (install during a renovation), so the only option would be buying an entire new one just to get another roller.

Kingston Brass Bath Toilet Paper Holder

I purchased the toilet paper holder to match the towel bar, ring and faucet. Very nice to match all the fixtures. The pice feels solid and has a heavy feel. It was a bit tricky installing as you have to install each mounting bracket so that it is level and close enough to apply the right amount of pressure to hold the tension bar. I gave it 4 stars rather than 5 due the annoying install. I think they should have included a template. That said it looks great. A very rich looking piece.

Nice and heavy

I like the Kingston Brass products. Heavy, and nice finishes. This tp holder matches my faucets great. Seems durable. Can't install it so the reveals are equal on either side of the rod, but not many people would probably notice it.

But the quality is good but kind of disappointing too

I bought this to go with the towel holders. This will not hold a full roll of toilet paper without fighting to get it off!! It says 11 inches but my measurements say 7 inches at the widest point. But the quality is good but kind of disappointing too.
