Lasted 8 years
When the bristles on my pool brush wore down, I did an Amzon search to buy the exact same brush again. I did not realize that my prior purchase a few months shy of 8 years ago. This thing is solid, durable, well made, and just so much better than the mostly plastic stuff you might find at a big box store and this price is much better than the options and our local pool store.

So far, it's ok
While I do like the design of the bristles - not too stiff, not too soft, I do believe the engineers designed this for more round-bottom swimming pools. The angle of the brush when installed on the pole is pointed more downward rather than forward. When brushing the walls down to the floor in the pool, the front outer plastic edge drags on the surface of the pool bottom unless you maneuver the pool just right. I've only had this for a few days and there are already scratches all over the front and sides of the black plastic section on the brush. It's also a bet heavy compared to a plastic design brush. For wall brushing, it's great however.

The Poolmaster Brush is an Amazon "Best-seller" for a reason!
Our family has lived in Florida, in the same home, with same pool since the late '90s. I maintain my own pool, and typically get about 5 years of use from our pool brushes before either the bristles wear out, or the frame breaks. I ordered this Poolmaster brush based on two factors - THE PRICE and the REVIEWS. The 18" Die-cast Aluminum back and handle, curved-body design and 5 rows of nylon bristles are typical features you will find on most brushes. I paid nearly half the price for this brush versus other similar brushes so if I'm able to get even 3 years out of the brush, it's still a good investment. USE: I've used the brush a few times now and it does a great job cleaning the surface walls, steps and bottom surface. The 5 rows of bristles ensure most of the debris moves forward ahead of the brush. It comes with the standard plastic butterfly V spring clip, so it will fit the nearly all telescopic poles. Like most Amazon shoppers, I count on honest, unbiased reviews. I hope you have found this review helpful in making your purchase decision.

Good quality - spend the extra on it
So far I am really impressed by the quality of this brush. The handle seems pretty typical for this type of product, but the nylon bristles are very good. They are stiffer than the cheap Walmart plastic ones, which helps get into the crevices of my Pebbletec pool coating. And, I scrubbed vigorously at the pool and tile with it, and NO bristles broke off like the cheap Walmart ones do. I'll try to remember to update after a summer in the sun, but I don't anticipate it breaking down nearly as fast. But even if it eventually does, it's worth the extra $3 on it over the Walmart version. ---- Update June 2014: I've had this brush for two years and the bristles are still in good condition with almost no shedding, and the metal hasn't bent or warped (and I leave it outside year round). I did replace the retainer clips but those are only a few bucks at a pool store. ---- Update May 2015: I just placed an order for a replacement (original purchase May 2012). The bristles finally wore down on the Pebbletec pool surface, but never 'shedded' full bristles like cheaper ones.

I think that's pretty good considering the sun beats down on the brush ...
This lasted about 2 1/2 years in the Las Vegas sun. Recently went to brush the pool and noticed about half the bristles had fallen out, all in one area. I think that's pretty good considering the sun beats down on the brush for a few hours a day, however, I never was crazy about this particular brush. Because of the angle its at, it was difficult to get into corners and transition from walls to floor in one sweep. I found myself scraping along the plaster. That doesn't happen to me when using other brushes, I assume its because this one isn't as angled as other brushes I've tried. Either way, 2 1/2 years of use isn't bad, but will look for a different brush now that it's time to replace.

Does the job
This brush replaced a workhorse that had cleaned my pool long past its useful life. This past summer I found far too many broken bristles floating in the pool and finally succumbed to the inevitable. This new brush has bristles that don't seem as stiff as my prior brushes but still does a good job. I hope that they'll hold up better when assaulted by the combined effects of chlorine and UV degradation. Only complaint I have is that, because of the "give" of these more flexible bristles, the base in which they are embedded feels like it contacts the pool which I find only slightly annoying. Other than that, the brush works great.

The brush is still like new, and it still appears to have all ...
I bought this pool brush on March 1, 2016, and I am writing this review on August 6, 2017. The pole has proved durable. I use it several times per week, throughout the year. The brush is still like new, and it still appears to have all of its bristles. Of course, it has lost a few bristles – once in a while, I'll notice a stray bristle floating in the pool – but that is to be expected. I am very pleased with this brush. My previous brushes were of poor quality. The plastic deteriorated quickly and bristles constantly fell off.

Worth the extra few bucks
So far, best pool brush I've owned. Much better than those cheap blue ones and worth the extra few bucks. My problem in the past has been the bristles- they fall out after less than one pool season. This brush feels and looks like excellent quality when you take it out of the box. I won't go so far as to say that I couldn't wait to go out and scrub my pool, but, when I did go to scrub at least I wasn't worried about spending an extra half-hour skimming bristles out of the pool afterward! It hasn't been a full season yet, so the verdict is still out, but so far there's been nary a bristle floating in the pool.

Just Perfect!!!
As a pool owner of many years, I have had and used several pool brushes over this time. What makes this brush different are the nylon bristles! This particular bristle will last longer than the typical non-nylon pool brush due to effects of the chlorine composition of most pools. The brush itself will clean the pool but the longevity of owning this brush will last much longer and to me that is value for my money!
