Works Well After Two Seasons + Tips for the About-to-be-Experienced
Once again, Made in China has cropped up in another consumer market. That alone may dissuade pump customers, but they should be prepared to fork over a lot of money for the satisfaction of comparable non-Chinese equipment. Unhappy about this, I still went ahead and bought a Total Pond 1200 gph pump. (BTW, Total Pond is Geoglobal Partners, a division of OASE.) Fortunately, I've had better luck with this pump than other Amazon customers. It has served a medium sized pond with a 5 foot head waterfall through about 30 feet of 1.25 inch tubing for two seasons. Aside from continuing to operate properly, what I like about this pump is the easy disassembly for cleaning. This is critical for longevity of ceramic shaft pumps. It uses 82 watts, info that is not easy to find. Customers complaining about outlet connection sizes: I gave up trying to make proper plumbing connections on pond pumps when it seemed that every manufacturer (and perhaps product runs of the same manufacturer) produced outlets with different size / threads. Finding fittings is just too much work and expense. My advice to everyone for any pond pump: take the pump to a decent hardware store, find tubing that fits snugly over the pump outlet, and secure it with a stainless steel aircraft clamp (see photo--the pump is sitting on the filter box I run it in, just a black storage container with slots cut in it). My last observation for what it's worth is that pond pumps of any manufacturer (I've had many) are fickle; they may last a long time, they may not. They are tiny little machines that work in often tough conditions 24 hours a day for months; that they may last for years is amazing in itself. The best bet is to use a prefilter of some sort (even the bag that comes with this one) and clean everything frequently.

5 1/2 years!!
I just ordered a replacement for my last pump, same model, which lasted for 5 and a half years!! Due to the size of my pond, it runs 24/7 all year. The only thing I don't like about this is the part that connects to the hose is not the same size as the hose, so I had to order a size adjustment part to make it fit. But it runs continuously and does a good job.

Expensive pump requires parts - be prepared to spend $10 to properly connect this pump.
Pump is fairly expensive compaired to other pumps with similar chacteristics - it is included as part of a suggested set of Total Pond products to get you up and running quickly. However, this pump comes with a threaded outlet that is not "pipe thread". The booklet that comes with the pump indicates that a threaded tubing adapter is included. I finally figured out the the pump I received has a model number of - "52325" - the tubing adapter is included with a pump with model number - "52321" - I have been unable to determine which pump that is because the model numbers are not included in the descriptions. I have also been unable to find the tubing adapter in the Total Pond offers on Amazon. So - ACE hardware was able to provide a brass fitting with a "garden hose" thread on one end (attacheds to the pump outlet) and a "pipe thread" on the other end which I can find a tubing adapter of the right size (1"). Be prepared to spend an additional $10 to properly connect this pump.

would like to know why same pump has different specs
This is the newer version of my old pump that only lasted 2 years. I had 2 of the older version each only last about 2 years. The issue on both was the inpeller cover would break of of the pump housing. On the 2nd pump I use a SS hose clamp to tryto give it more strenght this seems to help. On the new version it is softer plastic than the ond one so I hope it does not break loose! The new one uses about 33% less watts than the ond one, that said and done, my from amazon was spec. as 150 watts, same one at Home Depot was spec. as 200 watts, would like to know why same pump has different specs.-- I test my ond one it drew 312 watts this one one draws 188 watts so is a big saver of $. One more issue seems like Total pond may not keep/stock spare parts, I called about parts for my old pumps and was told no longer made buy a new pump, I think they should stock parts for a few years! This pump is use as areplacement for an aquascape pump that cost 2x this one but last about twice as long as you break even. This pump is a very easy refofit fot the aquascape, and easy to find

Pretty powerful
I bought the used one they offered, in my little pond and small falls i had to put a valve to slow it down. Clean the bag every now and then, make sure the water level is above the pump. So far so good after about six months

These last a long time
I had one of these running my pond filter and it ran 12 hrs a day for about 5 years before giving up. So I just replaced it with the same unit, hope this one goes as long. And I have tried more expensive pumps which have died after just a couple years. And the wattage is pretty low on these so cost of running is better than some others with the same GPH

Quality pump - smooth and silent (Update: lasted for six years)
This is a very nice pump. It has a quality feeling in the way it looks, feels and operates. It is nearly silent and very smooth running. The flow is very steady and uniform. It easily achieves the claimed 1200 GPH, and I have confirmed this by timing it in emptying 400 gallons from a pond. I have included a photo of the pump in use in its mesh filter bag, and also of the flow it creates over a 12 inch wide spillway (at only a few inches lift) through about 20' of 1.25 inch tubing. I have used the pump for over six months so far with flawless performance, and will update if any problems arise with more use. *Update* The pump has been in continuous use (24 x 7 x 365) for almost four years now with no issues. It is still running perfectly. *Update* This pump lasted for almost exactly six years of continuous use, then failed without warning. While in use it was smooth, quiet and flawless. I consider that to be good durability for the cost. I would have replaced it with the identical pump, but needed to get up and running again quickly. I had to buy something locally instead of ordering and waiting for delivery. I still highly recommend the pump. I recommend replacing it after five years, and keeping the old one as a spare in case of failure. Well worth the money.

Very Impressed
I've had this pump for an entire season now and am very impressed. It's one powerful, well made unit! My pond is roughly 15 feet long, 5 feet wide with a massive 5 foot high waterfall and this thing is so powerful I had to place stones strategically in front of the flow of water to slow it down somewhat because it comes out of the hose with such a force! It's so powerful that I decided to surround the suction area with aquarium sponges and use its suction as a filter as well and it worked beautifully, my huge pond was nice and clear, with a good strong flowing waterfall.

This thing slaps
Very low energy consumption compared to the old style pond pumps. Very high flow rate and lift capacity. We did have the bearing go on the impeller a year ago and customer service was excellent, replaced the entire pump for free. I'd recommend storing it DRY for the winter or you may have problems with the bearing seizing. Ours runs continuously from may till October and the motor has never given us any problem. Will buy another if ours ever fails! Can't beat the price and energy consumption, even if it only lasted one season! (Ours is on season two).

Excellent for my duck pond
I used this to make a small waterfall on our duck pond. I almost returned it because it was a little too powerful at first. I had to install a tee splitter and send the tubing in 2 different directions, which cut the water pressure in half and gave me the trickling waterfall effect I wanted. It helped clear the water after only a few days. Perfect!

noisy pump
Bought this for my 1500 gallon outdoor koi pond. It was easy to setup and does a pretty good job at pushing the water. The filter bag is a nice feature. Unfortunately, it is very loud and vibrates horribly. As a result I am returning it and will seek out a replacement.

Solid & Powerful Pump
After a lot of research into pond pumps and figuring out the sizing requirements based on pond dimensions and waterfall height, we decided on the the Total Pond LL3600. It connected easily, comes with a mesh bag to put the pump in to prevent debris clogging the intake and we plugged in and it works great. It doesn't look like it would be as powerful as it is and it moves the water very well, so well that i probably could have gone down a size. It's only been a couple of weeks but so far everything is working perfectly
