If you have time - make your own. If you are busy - buy this.
NOTE: This covers the Trainer and the Riser Ring. The Riser Ring is near the end. KINETIC ROAD MACHINE SMART BIKE TRAINER I purchased the Kinetic Road Machine Smart Bike Trainer to supplement my mountain bike riding. I only get to ride in the mountains once per week. However, I wanted to work on my strength and endurance several times per week by adding something to my usual workouts. I had been looking at “spin” type cycles. However, they take up a lot of room and are hard to move around. My home gym already has machines, free weights, a treadmill, an elliptical, and boxing apparatus. Adding a spin cycle would have meant losing something else or seriously cramping the gym. So, I figured the Kinetic might work. I use an older Trek 950 hardtail (no suspension) mountain bike with the Kinetic. It hooks up in seconds and has the added advantage that I am riding a bike similar to what I normally ride. I did change out the off-road back tire for a “slick” tire. This works extremely well with the Kinetic. There is very little noise and it is easy to watch the TV while riding. Another benefit is that I can move the setup to another room if my wife is using the gym. When not in use it takes a few seconds to disconnect the bike and move it out of the gym. The Kinetic takes up very little floor space. One more benefit: The cost is much, much less than a suitable spin cycle. KINETIC APP: After reading some of the reviews on the Kinetic app I was prepared to be underwhelmed. However, I have only had the app drop the program once in the several months I have been using the machine. The app has enough varied programs (plus you can just do a non-programmed “free ride”) that I have been enjoying it. I like that I can see how I stack up against the program in real time. The only real “problem” I have had is when I forget to turn on my tablet’s Bluetooth. FIXED RISER RING I use this to even up the height of the rear and front wheels. Is it worth $26? Probably not. You could make something for a few dollars using a few boards. However, if your time is valuable you might consider using this. It works. It is just too expensive. CAVEATS When I tighten the bike into the machine I notice that the frame flexes a little bit (as you might expect). While I do not mind that on my 27 year old Trek I am not willing to tighten my full carbon MB within the frame. It might be fine but I am not willing to try it. OVERALL I am very pleased with the Kinetic. My wife (also a biker) is very pleased with the Kinetic.

Sturdy
Although a little pricey for such a simple product, I'm glad I purchased this riser with my Kinectic bike trainer. It levels out my front wheel and provides the sturdiness I was looking for versus setting my front tire on a stack of books like I have seen my friends do with their trainers The grooves are pretty wide and they fit my cross bike tire nicely and would accommodate even a larger tire. It would be nice if the base was padded a bit. I was worried about it scratching my floor, but setting it on a piece of scrap foam pad did the trick.

Good match for the Kinetic trainer, well built, and worth a little extra.
What do you want, it sits on the ground and holds your wheel. The scalloped slots are well shaped so there is no chance of falling out of a slot if you sprint a little too hard, and the elevations offered seem to provide a few good options for leveling your bike. I worried about the design marking/wearing the front tire compared to the designs that cradle the tire more, but I don't think this has been an issue. Even if it were, I'd chose to spin the tire periodically to be able to use this riser since it is so solid and offers more options than some of the cheapest ones.

....I am no longer going down hill and sliding down the saddle.
The gyms are closed and cardio is hard to get. I am riding mindlessly listening to Amazon Music without having to attend to the cars. The stand makes my bike level on the trainer so I am not sliding forward all of the time. It is much sturdier and prettier than the 2X6 's wrapped in the bathroom rug. My wife was not very fond of that look. Good purchase

Does a great job....but
Okay, I would give this a five stars rating but for one reason.. It does a great job of leveling your bike. I ride indoors about 120 miles a week (winter). The one problem I have is how the tires sit on the riser. The "U" shaped edges where your front tire goes are flat rather than rounded at the edges. Not so much a problem. However, when you get cranking on your ride the riser leaves little dent marks in your tire from the riser. I am not a snob about my tires, but I am surprised the mold did not have rounded edges to protect the tire more. Sometimes I think my tire may pop. I use a triathlon bike and expensive tires. I also use it with a Kurt Kinetic Road Machine. Works as described.

No-nonsense construction. Beware sharp edges though.
This device works exactly as it appears. It has a grip on the bottom side that holds the wheel securely. The design uses just enough material to be very sturdy while also being remaining bulk-free. You can hang it from an empty bike hook for storage. ...and if you wear it your head, you'll have a funny snapshot to share on Facebook, entitled 'Burger King' :) This works very, very well. It was a solid choice. The only thing I can think of that would make this better is if they had rounded out the sharp corners. The material is made of a very hard thermoplastic. I came close to scraping their leg on the edge when I was stepping around it to place my tire in it.

VERY VERY nice trainer block - 5 stars
This is the 2nd trainer block I've ever purchased. My first one was a Cyclo Ops block which was basically three "prongs" of different heights. The wheel sat in the "groove" and it took a couple of moments to get the front wheel centered. Now, I bought this Kinetic trainer block. The center of the wheel fits in the middle of the "hole" without any guesswork. Again, this is only my 2nd trainer block - but it's far superior to my old one. I would HIGHLY recommend this to everyone for off-season training!

Good, but very noisy
Solid, but when you slide it across an un-carpeted concrete floor, it makes a fingernails-on-chalkboard noise that would wake the dead. And you can't avoid having to slide it into the right position. Your fitness level will increase but your hearing may get worse over time.

Front wheel riser
Bought the riser to enable me to either keep both wheels at the same height or to lift the front wheel further to emulate climbing. Works really well and although it's not cheap it does provide a range of heights and helps keep the bike very stable and helps provide a more life like turbo experience

Five Stars
Very pricey considering its simple, basic function is to level the bike out at the front

Ring
I thought that if I'd invested in the Kinetic trainer I might as well get the dedicated ring. I can't compare it to other rings but I can report that with the Kinetic trainer and ring the ride is as solid as a rock, even when pedalling for my life. Mount/dismount the bike with confidence too. Great
