I've purchased these for years
I've purchased these bags for years now. I have an odd size trash can and I use these bags. I pack these babies to the limit as they do have a bit of stretch. Interestingly enough, they will puncture pretty easily by edges of cardboard boxes but for my large sized garbage can, I love these. I purchase a box once a year and I never worry about running out of bags.. great price and the bags hold up well.

Ample size for my kitchen garbage can
I am so happy to have trash can liners that won’t be slipping down the sides of the can when it’s full. They are a nice thickness as well. Very happy with this purchase.

HUGE! Affordable.
It's hard to find good recycling bags in stores these days. I ordered these because they came in bulk at a decent price here on Amazon. I didn't expect them to be so large! These bags hold more recyclables than 3 or 4 standard kitchen bags. These bags are large enough to fit your 50-gallon outdoor garbage bins. When used in standard kitchen-sized bins, you'll soon have to remove the bag and use it outside of the can to avoid overflowing and fill it up the rest of the way. They're pretty large, so it may take you awhile. You'll likely have a loose bag hanging out for awhile while you get enough items to fill it. We use them in a standard can, but recycle a lot of items. So the loose bag is usually never hanging out for more than a couple of days. It's in a mudroom where it's not in the way, so it's fine for us. They're fairly durable. The only breakages I've ever had were with sharp/pointy edges (e.g. boxes) piercing through the sides. Even when that happens, the bag is large enough to still stay together and not spill the contents everywhere. I've never had to transfer to another bag when a rip occurs. I'm not sure how much weight these bags are rated for, but we've put the amount of glass that would fill a standard bag in them without a problem. When it's pretty heavy to lift, we stop filling it. They're also great for holding bunches of balloons, packing materials, etc. I would highly recommend these bags to anyone looking for a large-capacity bag for light items.

Alternative Use
Eventually this review will be updated when I use the bags for leaves and other garden refuse, but immediately I had a need to use them in a fairly unique way. My cat, Matt, is 19 inches long. 18 pounds, and is essentially a miniature mountain lion; he is way too big for ordinary litter boxes. As a result, I use a Sterilite storage rectangular box (reasonably priced, believe it or not at Walmart), 34 quarts/32 liters; it takes a 25 pound bag of clay litter. This 40-gallon bag is the liner. I was concerned about whether the bag would be strong enough because when Matt uses the box, he usually tries to dig his way to China to bury everything. Fortunately, this bag will take it, so I am pleased. I wish the cost were a little better than the current 23 cents each, but I guess the price is worth it for the "no aggravation" in dumping the box each week. The other thing that is not helpful is that these bags do not come in a roll; they are flat and do not come out singly. January 25, 2015 update: I had occasion to rake up wet leaves and used a bag, completely filling it. They are sturdy and will take the weight.

Very good value for recycling.
Very large capacity. I collapse cardbord boxes and put them in for recycling and they hold a lot. On the other hand the bag is very easily torn, so if you’re dragging them through the woods or across rough concrete they’re going to tear. On the whole, I like these a lot but I keep them inside a large trashcan until I’m ready to recycle them.
