Wowza!/Meh.
So. I wrote a raving review of the blue/white glow in the dark whistle ball at some point. Later, I bought another PD ball from this listing and the ball sucked so I left a "meh" review (below). What I didn't realize was that this review wrote over my last one! Also, it's frustrating that there are like 6+ balls here and the revoews cod be for any one of them, you have no idea which ball unless they specify. 5 Stars So, let me try doing a quick rewrite of the positive/amazing PD ball. The glow in the dark (blue/white) ball has been a staple in my home for 1.5 decades. We cannot live without it, in fact, it's Maggie's "safety ball" (think safety blanket). She can't exist comfortably without it. I actually have 3 of these balls in the house at the moment, 1) Maggie has to have hers, 2) the other pups need one to play with (because playing ball is not playing ball unless we are playing with *this* ball), and then 3) a back-up in case we lose a ball. There have been times in my life where I couldn't afford to have back ups on hand - that was hard. Inevitably, Maggie would lose her ball, or I would throw it and lose it, and then she was a panicked mess for days until the next one arrived. Sometimes we had to order them from the UK and pay $30 in shipping because they were put of stock in the U.S. Point is: these balls are important effing balls. They have the best bounce, they are the perfect weight, they are fun to chew on and aren't easily destroyed (though Maggie does like to pull the blue whistlers out sometimes, still, ball remains functional). My only complaint is that they are truly one of a kind. I have looked for a dupe for as long as I've known this ball - no dupes exist. No one makes anything that even comes close to this ball, not even Planet Dog. I keep hoping they'll release something similar (though, the orange and white glow in the dark comes kinda close...at least bounce-wise, but not texture wise and bounce is still only like 60% of the blue/white ball. Anyway. Planet Dog: more glow balls, please! They actually don't have to glow, they just need to be the same material as the glow ball. Even releasing the same ball in a different color would be something, please! ---‐----now, the review below is for the orange ball, but it could apply to most any other PD ball. the light changing ball is the same as the orange ball, except for the lights. they're too big. they're not squishy. they're hard to squeak. they just aren't it.------- 2 Stars I was hoping this ball would be great. The whistle ball from PD is the best ball ever, and they have a couple other semi-decent ones, so I thought I'd give this one a try. Darla, my 13yo, ~50lb, lab/heeler rescue mix, loves squeak balls, but when it comes to playing ball she prefers the PD whistle ball (don't we all), however, the PD whistle ball belongs to my other dog, Maggie. So, it's a rare occasion for Darla to be able to play with it. I bought this ball in hopes that it might be a decent comingling of the two - squeak and bounce. It's not. This ball is so hard to squeak. I have to use both hands to get a noise out of it, and it's hardly a squeak. Sounds more like 1/5th of a squawk. The bounce is okay, making it decent for playing/throwing, but it's too damn big. I got the medium thinking it would be suitable for medium dogs, but it's definitely not. I just logged on Amazon to see if I could return it and get it in a small, but apparently no small sizes are offered/available. Damnit. If the material was a bit softer, the size would be okay, but seeing how hard it is, the size is an issue for us. I think this ball could work for lots of dogs, it's not a bad ball. But, just know what you are getting and make sure it's right for your pup.

The only toy my dog likes. The squeaker is a bonus
My Basset Hound did not pay much attention to ANY toy until he got this ball, and this almost instantly got him fetching, which he never liked before, either. I bought two more, in case he loses them when I am away. He loves to chew on it and has made no dent in the surface. I think the large size and its compliance help keep it from being torn apart. I believe the squeaker also helps keep him engaged. Dogs make short work of squeakers in stuffed toys. A basket full of other balls, stuffies, ropes and synthetic bones lie unused.

Tougher than it looks!
Our puppy has managed to destroy almost every toy that we have given him. Not this one! And he LOVES it. We call it the moon - he knows it by name and will go looking for it when asked. It is almost as motivating as treats! We don’t usually put treats in it, but it is really easy to clean. Our pup as ingested way too many toy parts (almost had an obstruction at one point!) but even if he managed to chew a part off of this toy, it is really soft, so unless it was a really big chunk, I worry me too much. Of course it puts my mind at ease knowing it doesn’t contain BPA or Phthalates. If you’re on the fence - I would give it, or any of the other planet dog orbee toys, a try!

My dog only loves me more than this ball.
My dog destroys balls, even supposedly tough ones. But this ball LASTS. I ordered a new one today to replace the identical one I bought 13 months ago. He finally chewed a hole in it. A doggie tennis ball doesn’t last 5 minutes. I will never buy anything different.

Great tough dog toy
It has been a couple months since I got the ball and it had lasted incredibly well! It still is exactly the same as when we bought it, except for the squeaker. The squeaker still works but it doesn’t squeak as easily as it did when we bought it. However that is the only “negative” thing I have to say about it! Other than that it is my dogs favorite toy and it’s one of my favorites as well! It has a coating on it that keeps it from getting super slobbery and it’s so easy to clean. Literally rinse it off and it’s as good as new. It has some grip to it which is nice when trying to hold it and throw it. Overall, worth the money and I would highly suggest it if your dog destroys every other toy on the market.

Squeak ball is larger than most but a fav
I bought a few of the yellow squeak balls and they have been a favorite of my dogs and other dogs at the dog park. It’s not the easiest to squeak and it is comparable in size to the large sized Chuck it balls. But it’s very durable and dogs love it. It has a fun bounce, cleans up nicely and is pretty darn durable.

This ball is truely indestructible!
Our very picky dog loves this ball so much & usually he tears everything apart within 10 minutes - it’s been a week and not a tear or rip, love the lights too! So nice to see him excited to play with this every day!

The best for strong chewers
My dogs DESROY all of their toys but these last! I have a German Shepherd and Lab that are pretty rough and these balls are still going strong!

Excellent buy for chewers
Awesome. My power chewing, possessive, strong staffy loves this ball and the fact it actually squeaks is awesome. Certainly the only squeaking ball I've owned that I can give him that doesn't get destroyed in seconds. Nice and visible (orange) for fetch in all lighting and environments. The bounce isn't great but it is unpredictable which to me is an asset and just adds to playing fetch. Not very easy to remove from my dogs mouth but they never are! I can leave him unattended with it at not worry about coming back to a mess. Not cheap for a single ball in comparison to others but worth every penny! Saving loads by not having to replace cheap and/or supposedly premium products that just don't stand up to his chewing. Fast delivery. Me and my dog both love it.

My dogs favourite toy
This is a great toy and my dog loves it. It feels way more durable than any other toy my dog has to chew on. However, it is quite hard to squeeze the ball to make it squeak. In a way this is a good thing as it means that it doesn't squeak too often when the dog is chewing it. I need to use both hands to squeeze the ball to get the dogs attention. After a few months of use, I've found that the squeaker has become temperamental, as if it has rotated around in the ball. However, my dog still loves it as he doesn't realise that it doesn't always squeak now.

Orbees are truly indestructible!
I've seen my boy destroy a 'tough toy' in under 20 seconds, but Orbees genuinely seem to be indestructible. They're my go-to toys for any friend who complains their dog wrecks toys. 8 years and almost every model in the range - still haven't had a casuality! This squeaking ball is loved by a full grown labrador- he has to put effort in to chew strongly enough to make it squeak, but he loves a challenge! Probably best for a large breed or strong jaw (staffing type) to get the noise.

Well done Orbee-Tuff
He's had this for 3 hours now. You may consider this very early days but previous best for a squeaky is 10 minutes and the best for any ball shaped object is about half an hour. We have an American Staffie you see and that is 3 hours of constant power chewing. Thus far it's still intact, it's still bouncing and it still squeaks. He's really not used to this and he's determined to destroy it, should take him ages. The definite winner in the Squeaky Ball category.

A bit like when your dog does an almost silent fart and ...
Did you hear it whistle yet? No, still no, wait.... no nothing. This ball does not WHISTLE! Even when you throw it as hard as you physically can without dislocating a shoulder it makes a tiny pfff sound in the air. A bit like when your dog does an almost silent fart and all you hear is a tiny pfffffffffu and an innocent look on it's face, but that might actually be louder. It claims to be DURABLE but my small Jack Russell only needed a few seconds of chew time for this to be confetti. However it does glow in the dark (but you need to shine a light on it first for it to react) and it does smell of mint which was a lovely addition that my dog did enjoy. Doesn't really make up for the fact it's main features and point of being are completely false though. Can't believe I just spent 17 quid on a bouncy ball
