Second Purchase

This is the second time I purchased this coat. I had the first coat for roughly 6 years and I probably could’ve continue to use it because it’s in really good shape but I snagged the arm and ripped it and it was just an unsightly repair. I love this coat it’s thin and light weight, but keeps me very warm and I still look like a female and not a giant marshmallow. I purchase a small.

I've never done a review this soon after delivery

I got this coat just in time. I live in NC and the weather is very finicky. Just 2 hours after it was delivered, the temp dropped and it decided to snow. Hours later, I'm outside in 23' weather (real feel 16') for an hour with my 11 year old son. My son helped me choose this coat. I bought him a Columbia with the omni heat lining and he told me that it performed great...i should buy this one. I LOVE IT! I was incredibly comfortable the whole hour outside...except my hands... no gloves. The length comes just above my knees. I'm 5'2", or so. I layered a fleece under the coat with room to spare. I'm abt 110 lbs and bought the xs. The coat is flattering, especially with the waist cinch. The cuffs at the wrists keep the cold out. The omni heat lining extends the length of the coat and down the arms. I like how light the coat is; not bulky at all. It looks and feels thin but, that's the beauty of down. Down doesn't need to be packed thick to work... in fact, too much is unnecessary. The coat is going to feel thin. I don't recommend layering so much that the coat is pulled tight. That will make the down ineffective. You need that layer of air in the down pockets for it to work properly. If you plan on multiple layers, you may want to order a size up. I wore a tank top, a thin fleece, and the coat and was plenty warm. The hood is removable, which I love. I did use the hood during my hour outside and it performed great. The collar and hood kept my neck and chin very warm. I cinched the hood and was surprised how comfortable it was. Other coats I've had, I hated the hoods because they irritated me. This one is nice... I'll use it often. The pockets are fleece lined and have zippers. I do wish the pockets were larger, though. I have very small hands and they just fit. I don't think they would fit a pair of gloves easily. I'll try gloves in the pockets tomorrow to be sure. The coat is long so that makes the zipper tricky but, I was able to figure that out quickly. There is Velcro along the zipper to prevent airflow and that's nice. It gives it a smooth clean look. All in all, this is the best and warmest coat I've ever owned. Between my son's coat and this one, I'm sold on Columbia. As for all of my other coats....I'm going to donate to a shelter.

Finally a lightweight coat that is warm...

I was not sure this coat would "work" for me for I am very picky but to my shock it did fit! I ordered a medium and a lot of the times certain brands mediums are smalls or are made "smaller" so this is why I was not too sure at first. Luckily the fitting worked out nicely. I wished however the design of the front pockets were deeper. The cinch band inside broke but I am great with sewing so not an issue but I think that the prior wearer (this coat is from amazon warehouse and was "used") may have pulled a little too tight thus making my pull the last!! Who knows....this coat was greatly discounted however due to shipping carrier delays, so the sewing aspect is really NOT a big deal in my case of course because after the discount I probably paid for the hood of the coat only!!! It is light and not bulky the inner wrist sleeve (something I always look for) is made out some type of material that actually works. It is not elastic but something stronger and lighter in fabric. The added velcro protection was somewhat annoying in that I kept my gloves on and so taking off my coat or doing any kind of adjusting, whether it be zipping up and zipping down, your gloves, mitten WILL get stuck on the velcro. It may not be a big deal but when you are out and about in the cold, it can be a pain. Overall, this coat will bring the warmth factor and today it is Sunday, and VERY windy here in NYC and it may be the day for REAL test!!! but I have faith!!

Versatile and warm

I've enjoyed wearing this coat the last month. It has kept me warm on cold nights, but when sitting outside on a warmer night I didn't feel as though I was sweating or overheated. My favorite feature is the pockets, which are lined with a fleece-like fabric (may be fleece, but can't find in the product description so don't want to be misadvertising) and keep my hands warm even when I don't have gloves on me. It looks flattering when worn with sneakers and leggings or jeans. I ordered a small (5'5, 120 lbs.) and it fits well and doesn't feel too tight around the shoulders/the sleeves are a good length. Sitting down with it entirely zipped and velcroed up isn't awkward or tight either in my opinion. I bought it when it was on sale (~$93) which I think is a fair price point (I'd maybe wait for it to go on sale again if purchasing.)

I like that it’s light yet warm. I fly around the world in all kinds of weather & other coats were too bulky. There’s room enough for a sweater. I wish Columbia made a knee length one. I live it.

Very well made

I love the lining, the inside zip pocket, the felt-lined zip outer pockets, the matt finish, the color gray (not too dark or too light). I am 5'10" and weight 150, and it fits very well once I synch the waist (it has a cord inside). It's warm but not bulky, so it's nice for looking well-put-together.

Best winter coat!!

Best winter coat!! I bought for my trip to London and it was easily stuffed in my carry on. It's warm but light weight. It's what I've been looking for. It also is form fitting which is necessary When you are short and small.

Perfecta y ligera

La compré para mi viaje a Nueva York en febrero, soy una persona sumamente friolenta, y esta chamarra fue perfecta, la usé con nieve y viento y fue ideal, todo el tiempo me sentí protegida, nunca sentí que se pasara el frío y con la nieve no me mojé, quedé encantada, además es muy ligera y doblada queda pequeña, pedí talla chica, mis medias son 92-79-94 cm y hubo espacio para una sudadera gruesa más térmicas, en las fotos tengo sudadera gruesa y no me veo grande. Mido 1.55 cm y me quedó arriba de la rodilla. En cuanto al relleno de pluma si saca plumas pero nada grave, una que otra y ya. Perfecta, le doy 10/10.

Hermosa chaqueta, no esta nada bromosa pero es extremadamente calientita, en las mangas tiene una tipo tela de licra para que el frio no entre por las mangas ¡Excelente idea!

Great for Canadian winter

Love this jacket, it's is super warm and does prevent the harsh Canadian cold and wind out.. Wish the hood has a like more flare and not so small. The feathers are already poking and coming out of it.
