Dog Walker Safety Jacket!

Bought this jacket for our daughter who walks her dog early mornings and in the evenings. She needed something for safety so that cars along the busy streets she walks would see her as she and her dog are walking or getting ready to cross the street. It has already been useful on several occasions! The only downside is that it is a man's jacket - they didn't have a women's jacket. Keeping her safety in mind - I still bought this one figuring she could wear another jacket beneath it to keep her warm (we live in Colorado). She does wear it with another coat beneath in chilly weather. The many pockets it has have come in handy for keys, wallet, doggy bags, dog treats, gloves, hat, leash, mini-flashlight and cell phone (so many useful pockets!). The neon green helps (wish there was another color), however it is the reflective strips on the jacket that are very useful. The strips do not look metallic or reflective when you look at them in normal lighting, but when car lights shine on them, they positively glow and become very reflective (even when it is snowing). There have been construction workers and other dog walkers asking where she got her jacket and if it comes in different colors or styles (I WISH!). Seriously, this is one of the best gifts to give a dog walker who has to walk along busy streets when it is cold and dark outside - SAFETY FIRST - style and color, well - let's hope they are working on more choices!). I also bought a matching vest for warmer weather.

Kept me warm

I work outside doing traffic control and it kept me very warm wish they had gloves to and it would be nice if the hood was bigger but besides that love it!!

Almost worth 5 stars, but it comes with a few drawbacks

I love this jacket. But things like the small hood and lack of any breathability in the jacket drops the rating for me. First and foremost the hood not only looks small but its length does not cover the top of my head. It reaches above my forehead and sits on top of my frontal lobe area exposing my face the the elements defeating the purpose of a Hoody. Secondly, the lack of breathing in the fabric is amazing at keeping rain/snow moisture from penatrating inside. BUT... it has an opposite yet equal reaction to my own body keeping all that heat and perspiration trapped inside. This jacket is perfect who any type of precipitation below 50°F. Above that this jacket becomes too "hot" for both the outside Temps and humidity. You will find yourself with a sweaty back unless you remove this jacket everytime you enter a vehicle or go indoors. Would still recommend this jacket regardless of my own opinions. I still use it myself with no regrets.

No cleaning instructions

Well I haven't been hit by a car but this jacket gets very dirty very fast. Do not want to ruin it. Did not come with any washing instructions.

Tough

I have worn this jacket now for 20 days in the field. It is super durable going through brush including thorns and has not ripped. I have taken it through multiple barbed wire fences, in the rain, and an ice storm with no problems. I would recommend the product to any field worker. If I had any complaints it would be that the front pocket could be larger to accommodate a cell phone.

Probably want a size bigger

Great for the price. Definitely high vis which is great if you do road work or near highway work. Lightweight and has removable liner. Pockets are a little less than desirable. Zipper pockets are great if you also have nonzipper ones so your wrist doesn't get scratched when shielding hands in your pockets but this jacket only has zippered ones on outside. Size fits arms but just a bit short on torso so buy one size larger. Very crinkly when new. For $50 price range you won't find much better. All things considered, it does what I need so I'm mostly happy with it.
