Best stripper I ever paid for!

Why didn't I buy this thing years ago? This would have saved me so much time! Amazing that it works on almost all types of wire. There are some electrical wire crimpers on there, but it doesn't work that great. If you're in a spot where you need it, it'll do the job. There's a wire cutter on it that seems to work okay as well. The crimper and the cutters aren't the best, but I think of them more as an afterthought or a backup if I don't have my snips or crimper on me. The only time I had an issue is trying to strip wires that have a really hard plastic sheath on it (like on certain romex electrical cables). For these types wires, I had to repeat the process a couple of times to strip it completely. Over all, I found this tool very handy and it makes installations go a lot smoother.

VERY GOOD FOR 14 AWG – 10 AWG - NOT GOOD FOR ELECTRONICS SMALL AWG WIRES - These self-adjusting wire strippers work fine for 14 AWG to 10 AWG solid and stranded stripping in wiring houses. However, they do not work consistently well for the smaller electronic wire gauges like 20 AWG and 22 AWG as claimed. I also do not like the “Adjustable Stopper” for stripping a lot of the same lengths over and over. The “Adjustable Stopper” is made of plastic and it is positioned toollessly by your finger and it slips. My buddy has a different brand that has an “Adjustable Stopper” that is made of metal and can be securely set with a screwdriver for accurate and repeatable stripping. If somebody steals this Irwin self-adjusting stripper I am going to buy the other brand.

If you do any electrical/ electronics work, this is a must!

These are so useful I don’t even know how to begin. They never nick the wire, always cut a consistent length of insulation, are incredibly fast and easy. Works on anything from 12 to 26awg in my experience. Can strip pairs of wires at once(great for paired speaker wire. Works on solid and stranded wire. Just make sure the wire isn’t too short or it might remove the wrong side of the insulation. The crumpets aren’t great, and the uninsulated crimps just don’t work, but that’s not its job. The cutters are also handy and effective.

I have several wire strippers and will probably never use them again after using the Erwin Vise grip wire stripper. WOW, these were easy to use. This stripper is awesome. I am so glad I found these after watching someone use them on youtube. I cut my time in stripping wires by 90%. Very impressed. Highly recommend.

It will strip a lot of different sizes of wire without adjustment needed.

I like the fact that it is quick and will adjust automatically to the size wire you have. You do have to make sure that the insulation piece that is removed drops out of the tool before you strip another wire. If you don't it doesn't clamp down on your next wire to strip. I also like the movable stop for changing the amount you want to strip.

Fantastic

I took the plunge and bought these wire strippers having constantly been battling with the pull type ones. They are fantastic, makes stripping all types of wire such a breeze. Did take some practise to start with to get the hang of them. They are now my go too tool. The extra functions like the cutters and crimping bits are very handy too if you only have the one tool to hand or forget your proper crimpers. I have a lot of Irwin Vise Grip tools because of their robustness, which these fit in very well.

Superb Product

I purchased this product after watching it's video on You Tube . I loved it esp as a DIY user . Now you need not struggle with wire stripping process and cutting is very clean and effortless. You can strip multiple wire easily. It's costly as it is imported from USA and not made in China
