Nice quality plates, a bit pricey
I ordered these in the 10” and 8.5” sizes as my family uses a lot of paper plates. I like that these are recycled so I don’t have to feel quite as bad about the waste. I was worried that the recycled part would make the texture kind of weird and Kraft paper like but they’re actually pretty similar to regular Dixie paper plates. They’re ever so slightly less smooth/glossy but not enough to make much of a difference in how they feel in your hand and hold up. We like to use the 8.5” size for our kids to eat lunch and dinner off of. They’re usually too small for an adult dinner but are great for snacks or dessert etc. The 10” size feel big and a bit of a waste to give to the kids but are great for adult meals on the “I don’t want to do a bunch of dishes” nights. They seem to hold up to most normal foods great and even some pretty juicy foods of my kids don’t soak through. My husband likes that he can fold the 10” plate in half and stuff it in his lunch box and it doesn’t tear or compromise the integrity of the plate. I love that these come in such bulk options other than I have to make space in my pantry for them. I hate having to buy stuff like this so the less often I have to do it the better. My only complaint though is the price. I definitely think it’s acceptable to charge more for recycled product but the price point just seems a bit high for me for something I’m going to turn around and throw away. I would have. A hard time justifying buying more in the future considering I can get the nicer looking non recycled plates for a bit cheaper. I also am the kind of person that usually buys the odd brand at Sam’s club to save even more. So I guess the decision to purchase these comes down to how much you really want to do better for the environment. I definitely think they maintain the Dixie quality though so they’re definitely a good environmentally friendly option.

Good recycled paper plates
I have been using Dixie paper goods for years now, and they have never let me down. These recycled paper plates seem to be around the same size as their regular paper plates and hold the perfect amount for my kids' dinner. They feel a bit thinner than what I am used to, but they hold up well to most foods, both hot and cold. They don't feature any pattern or design, but are a natural brown color, since they are made from recycled materials. The price is fair for the amount of plates that are included, but it's a little higher than the non-recycled plates. Overall, these are a good option for paper plates and it's a nice added plus that they are recycled.

very sturdy plates
If you are looking for disposable plates with pretty designs then these are not the plates for you. However, if you care about the environment and recycling, then I can recommend these EcoSmart plates. They are made with 100% recycled fiber and are very sturdy. It doesn't matter to me if a plate is “pretty”. I am concerned about the plate saving me time from doing dishes and that it holds up to my family meals. I have used these plates for sandwiches, pizza, desserts, and even casseroles and I am very pleased with the quality.

Thin yet durable.
I got these recycled fiber plates to use for everyday use. They are thinner than others that I have tried yet they have been durable enough for everything I have used them for, including sandwiches, vegetables, fruit, and more. Even on hot spaghetti these have held up. They are a bit pricey but most recycled things are.

Finally, some worthy eco-friendly name brand plates
I saw Dixie finally came out with a line of eco-friendly disposable plates and jumped at the chance to try these. I already use Dixie's regular paper plates and love them. I find them to be sturdy and a better alternative to foam, because paper will at least decompose more quickly over time. Or at least that's what they tell us. Anyhow, I received this bulk box of 500 total (four bagged packs of 125 each) 8.5 inch plates in good condition. They come in a small cardboard box. I have tested these plates with different types of food and so far, we love them. The plates are light brown, as pictured, and are coated to prevent liquids from leaking through. I have not had this issue at all, even with wet food. The plates have what I would say an average sturdiness. Strong enough for a regular amount of food, but you may need a second plate underneath for reassurance with a heavy loaded baked potato and more. Though in my experience, they have never folded or bent under weight. I would say this size is perfect for one entrée, a salad, or small meal. For a full dinner, the 10 inch plates are a better size in my opinion. These plates are made of 100% recycled paper. I've also noticed that they do not shed or shred when cutting through food and into the plate, something that I've usually experienced with eco-friendly plates. This makes me more comfortable eating with them, that I won't consume any part of the plate. I am so far thoroughly impressed with this line of Dixie's ecosmart plates and I would definitely purchase more in the future.

Good disposable plates
If you are in need of disposable plates and a lot of them, these plates would be a good pick up. They are durable and can hold a good amount of food. They do not lose their shape even when they get wet. It is great that they are made of recycled material too. The plates are a good size too. Not too big and not too small. They are a little pricey but the plates are good quality and a name brand. Plus you do get 500 plates. Good plates if you need a lot of disposable plates.

The plates are nice, but they have an odd smell to them. I think it is the waxy coating on them. They are sturdy and don’t leak.

Nice
Very thick and sturdy! Have yet to have one of them bend while using.
