Bolster is NOT removable.
I bought the large size bed. Overall, I am happy with my purchase but disappointed that the bolster does NOT come off as the write up says. The material used for the bolster and sides is rather thin and I fear it will tear easily. Fortunately, my dog is a careful creature so I'm not too worried. There will be more 'wear and tear' on the flat black surface and that seems more durable. Other things to note that are not mentioned in the description: Made in China and the package was stamped with the California Prop 65 warning that the product contains chemicals known to cause cancer etc.

3rd One now, for 3rd Dog PERFECT BED
That's how much my fur babies love these beds! The first two, were for my Great Dane babies, and of all their different beds, these ones are the choice of my fur kids. They look like they might be thin and may rip, but no, not at all. They are amazingly durable. The Great Dane sized ones we have are still in use, after four years now, and this smaller one is for our Greyhound girl. She LOVES it! Happy fur kids make me a happy momma!

Nice bed with some issues
I bought this bed for my Great Dane and she fits on it just fine. The foam is nice and thick. I did have to remove the bolster and fluff it up manually (it is loose foam, not solid). However the bed did not fluff up all the way - it looks like one corner is permanently crushed, possibly a bit melted? See picture. Still, not bad for price. I wish they still made this bed in the oval shape instead of squares as those are the ones my dogs all prefer.

Great Bed for an amazing price!
We have two Great Danes and for the price this is an excellent bed! I read mixed reviews and was hesitant about buying it at first. We have a bully bed already which was quite pricey but very high quality...that is in our living room and when we had just one Dane that was fine as he slept with us at night. However we have two grand kids and got another Dane this year...so even though we have a king size bed... my husband, I, sometimes our granddaughter, and two Danes do not fit comfortably! Our Danes are very spoiled, we love them alot and so I wanted a bed that was comfortable, and big enough for them in the bedroom, if even just for one of them to free up some room in the bed and not make them feel like they are isolated or being to be made sleep in another room, and yet not have to pay $200 - $400! This bed did just that, although not the quality of the Bully bed or the barker bed...The quality is still there...we opened it and before it even got a chance to air out the dogs were all about it...when they lay on it, it does not sink to the floor at all and yet is still soft for them...our oldest dog is 120lbs. the bolster pillow does need to be fluffed up by you, it will not rise on its own and even when done is not much, honestly that part could ahve been left out of the bed for all it does (not much) but as for the bottom it rises up pretty fast after opening, is soft but not so soft that it sinks to the floor...perfect for their comfort. The cover does seem a little thin but other than that is great and the black top is soft enough. My final thoughts...I paid like $64 for this bed, which is the biggest one they have...at this price you are not going to find anything even close to its quality! Of course it is not the best or fanciest one out there, but you get what you pay for...and I am actually very satisfied with the quality and comfort of this bed at such a low price..I highly recommend this bed if you need a good bed, especially for a larger dog and are on a budget. while not perfect it absolutely does the job.

Very impressed
We have had these beds since October 2016 and our dogs have loved them everyday. During the summer we leave them like they areZ when it starts getting colder we put their fluffy bed and a comforter on top that they can snuggle down in. Many have said the bolster didn’t fluff up. When I got these beds I manually fluffed up the bolster due to instructions telling me to do it. I did not have any issues with the zipper until 3/2021. After washing the end of the zipper came apart and when zipping the bed back together I zipped the tab right off the zipper. I undid the other end and put the zipper tab back on, but did the same thing, smh. So I just sewed both ends so they would not get undone and started my search for replacement covers. Very impressed with the durability of this product.

Love the bed ... The zip on the cover not very strong
The bed is awesome, my dogs love it... But when I took the cover off to wash it, the zipper broke and I was not able to zip it up. I requested a replacement and received the new bed within 2 days. It was a bit of a challenge to find a box to return the broken one. I am now afraid of washing the cover.... I will post again after the first wash. Ok, time for the update after the 2nd bed arrived. As I've said before, I was afraid to wash the cover again..... I did and the zip broke again, and after a couple of weeks the cover started to rip along side the edge of the bed. I have to say, the mattress is great and my dogs (two 90 pounds Labradors) love it, but the cover is really poor quality and I now have to buy a new cover for the bed and it has proven really difficult due to the size of the Mattress.

Best bed I’ve still 1 year later!
This is an AWESOME bed!!! I will be buying two more. I purchased this for my older dog with hip problems and she loves the bed. She is an Aussie Shepard mix and actually could of used a much smaller bed, I got the xl. Our Great Dane and male English mastiff loves the bed as well and both will be getting an xl each. They fit in the bed wonderfully by themselves of course. I have spent thousands of dollars over the years on top brand dog beds like Serra and none have held up like this bed. Hence why I have waited so long to write this review. I brought this bed March of 2018...almost of full year later the bed looks like new still. None of the padding has sunk. I would absolutely recommend this bed!!! Xl is perfect for large breed dogs and also perfect of older fur babies too!

Seems to be OK
I agree with the folks who say the bolster is pretty flimsy. It is not foam, but some kind of crinkly material, and absolutely does not puff up like the rest of the bed. The foam bed is pretty nice, though, and my dog was on it almost immediately and seems to love it. The cover is thin, but I put a blanket in the bed for her anyway, so it's ok. For the price, when compared with some in excess of $100, I'd buy it again.

good to start then it stated to tear around the seams, wash as per the washing guide on the label now shrinking and zips gave up for the bolster would have expected a lot longer before anything went wrong for the money paid for the item. Would not recommend this bed to anyone.

Our Boxer seems to find it comfortable, but the finish is poor for the price. We've only had it a short time and unzipped the cover to wash it. The zipper pull for the bolster fell off in my husband's hand. Now the seams are coming undone. I've had to re-sew some of it. I would expect a lot more quality for this price. Not happy. Update as of November/17 - we've already had to make a new cover for it. Not at all pleased with this purchase.
