Good Product in All Respecs

After starting with a little one-hole feeder, I wanted one with more capacity. This one works very well, and I have lots of satisfied customers. It's easy to clean and fill, no ants, just works very well. Good capacity. I put half a cup of white sugar in a measuring cup, fill it to two cups, stir it until it dissolves (no need to heat it), and pour it in the bottle with a funnel. Screw on the base, and turn it over, wobble it to settle the bubbles, and it's good for a week or two., when I refill it.

Hummingbird Heaven!

I love it ! My cat really loves it and so do the hummingbirds ! Attracts more birds than my neighbors feeders!

MANY DESIGN FLAWS!

1-sharp flowers risk injuring hummer bill 2- sharp base i got a paper cut putting it together! 3- red film on bottle not red glass. Hummers will come without the red bottle or red syrup!! Washing is safer in a clear bottle! 4-no rim for hummer to rest on. NEVER PUT A HUMMINGBIRD FEEDER IN THE DISHWASHER-CHEMICAL DETERGENT RESIDUE WILL KILL THEM!! hand wash rinse very well!! Put enough syrup in for 2-3 days then empty and clean carefully rinsing very well ! I clean mine every third day regardless of the weather! ( 1 cup organic/regular sugar and 4 cups DISTILLED water. ( I buy bottled water, you don't need to boil) refrigerate remaining syrup bring to room temp before using. PLEASE-** HAVING and FEEDING HUMMINGBIRDS IS A RESPONSIBILITY NOT FOR THE LAZY!!!!! once they start coming to your feeder they will depend on you to keep it clean safe and full of syrup! If you don't plan on being responsible for these little flying jewels DONT PUT UP A FEEDER!!! READ about hummingbird care so you know what to expect before you put up the feeder!! you need 2 feeders/ hang in the shade/dont change its location/keep it clean! Red is a myth i never use red bottles or red syrup and on any given day there are 4-11 hummers at the feeders every day* they don't like this one i have only seen one or two go to it and immediately leave and go to another one! I think its the sharp flower edges! *although “pretty” its not safe or practical! I have fed Hummingbirds for 35 years!

I have two different red glass feeders. I prefer the other one. Likes Red glass look Well attended Preferences - Red glass look Well attended Needs Wider jar mouth for easier cleaning. Needs longer wiring for hanging without spilling. It spills with both of my hangers. One of the flowers falls out with cleaning... Not good but not a deal breaker but concerned about accidentally going down drain. ***NOTE - I know leaking has been mentioned on multiple feeders. I was not having a leaking issue until I went straight from the refrigerator (refrigerate balance of nectar left over) to the feeder (back to hot sun or even shade if humid). Something about the condensation process caused it to leak out (on both of my different built feeders). I let it get to room temperature before putting it out and I’ve had no leakage.

Review Update

UPDATE: I did love this feeder, however, I found out the hard way that this feeder is NOT red glass. I hand washed for months but I threw it in the dishwasher and the film melted off. ORIGINAL REVIEW: I'll start out by saying that I never give 5 star reviews because I personally feel that perfection is difficult to achieve and ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ should be saved for when it is. I was very nervous about buying this after reading some of the reviews, but it is exactly as described. The hummingbirds were instantly drawn to it. It has never leaked in the 6 weeks that it's been hanging on my tiny balcony even when people bump their head on it (not a short person problem). If you choose to have a leaking tray, you'll need to mount the bottle horizontally ????. I've never needed to add gaskets or any sealant as described it some of these reviews. It's very easy to assemble and clean. Don't hesitate, you'll love it.

Great feeder BUT

I have used two of these perky pet bottle feeders for about two years. I bought these because no plastic. They have been great except the center of the flowers have a rubber feeder insert. They rot. That is understandable sitting in the sun. But the company doesn't provide replacement parts. None!!! So throw away a still usable feeder? Crazy. Beware before you buy. Both feeders have done this.

Beautiful, but not easy to maintain and can be dangerous...

This is no doubt a very beautiful hummingbird feeder and I love that it has a classic antique look. I have over 2 dozen hummingbird feeders and this is the most beautiful of them all, but it is also the least used. I now occasionally use it for decorative purpose on my front porch, but the feeder is not the easiest to fill nor clean. The bottle mouth is too small for reliable filling without a funnel, and the extreme curvature inside the bottle makes it difficult to clean well with my brush tool. In addition, I've gotten a deep cut on my index finger from cleaning the underside of the metal base that has the feeding ports. There's razor sharp metal ridge where the bottle mouth meets the base, so please be careful while cleaning or you'll end up with a painful cut on your finger tip that tends to heal very slow. If not for the ease of maintenance, I would've given this feeder as presents for many of my friends and relatives. Hummers are drawn to the bottle, and they often perch on the edge of the metal base rim although the feeder lacks visible perch. I own another red glass bottle feeder "More Birds 60 Classic Brands Red Vintage Hummingbird feeder" and I tend to use that feeder more often (albeit less beautiful but that could be subjective) for the ease of maintenance.

Sturdy, holds a lot of feeding fluid but only one hummingbird using so far after 3 weeks.

I had another feeder that was a different make in the same place and more hummingbirds came to that one - I 'm not sure if it's the difference in feeders or hummingbird habits/territories - they do seem to fly to it, hover and then fly away. This is a nicely made product, red coated glass which appears to be red glass and the ports have a rubber-like rim inside. No problems with wasps or bees. I will keep observing to see if more birds come to the feeder. Easy to fill and clean and does not spill when hanging it up as much as the other one did. Update: have observed for another week and birds seem to fly up and not stop., even attempting to reach the nectar but quickly retreat. Have changed the nectar for fresh but no difference. We’re wondering if the ports are too long inside the feeder because for the hummingbirds to get their beaks into the nectar, they would have to be at a particular angle. We’re cutting two of the ports down to make it easier for them to reach the nectar. Will report back!

It's pretty. no birds use it though.

At least not in my yard. I really love the look of it, and Hummers usually love red. We get a lot of those little critters around here, but after we put this up, none of them used it. I saw a few check it out, but then they split. I bought another one, cause why not. The second one was plastic, with a red top piece, a clear part where the solution goes, and a red bottom for feeding with a perch ring around it and little plastic yellow flowers around the feeder holes. That second feeder gets all the hummingbirds, all day long. I don't know what it is. I still kept this glass bottle unit up, but I've never seen a hummer use it. But it looks pretty?? You'll need a thin bottle brush to clean it. This one went up and

Visually gorgeous but...

This hummingbird feeder is beautiful. Red glass is perfect. However, the base, which is the part where the hummingbirds feed, is not a colour that seems to attract the birds. They come by but do not stop. Instead they go to my other hummingbird feeders who have bright red "flowers" to drink from. I am going to try and paint the base a different colour. Bottle itself is beautiful.

Happy hummingbird

A friend who is into hummingbirds told me that these little flyers prefer glass bottles to the cheaper plastic one. And that is correct. Immediately a hummer was at the feeder and there for some time. Happy bird…. Filling requires turning the bottle upside down and the wire hook on the bottom of the bottle made filling a bit awkward. Still a happy bird and we all enjoy watching them.

Quede enamorada y muy contenta con el alimentador de colibríes ya que veo más seguido en las mañanas y por las tardes a mi amiguito gracias al comedor… es duradero, de muy buena calidad y tendré por mucho tiempo este producto ya que sus materiales se sienten muy buenos además de que se ve hermoso ya que le da un toque más bello a tu jardín…. lo recomiendo 100%
