City Chicken Sticks are great!!
Perfect for city chicken - size is just right & there’s no splintering & a great price! Always got my sticks at butcher shop in Michigan but in South Carolina no butchers & they have no idea what city chicken is so a friend suggested I check on Amazon & there they were - thank you Amazon you made our day.

These are the right size and shape for skewering pieces of pork for city chicken.

Turning to dust, beetles?
Turning to dust. There are boring insects that affect birch and bamboo but no insects are visible. After some research, the powderpost beetle larvae does the most damage from the inside out so I guess they are inside the sticks. ??? I've added photos. The sticks that had holes in them broke very easily and dust fell out. You can see the bore holes as well as dust on the sticks. Another person asked if they were bamboo. They do appear to be bamboo to me as well. The wood grain appeared to be bamboo to me after researching bamboo cutting boards in the past but the end grain of birch and bamboo seem very similar. I questioned it as soon as I opened them but trusted the information on the listing. I specifically ordered them because they were not bamboo. The original packaging was a plain white box with out further details. I repackaged them immediately after receiving because there was dust in the box but thought nothing of it since it was a wood product and that could have been from manufacturing. I placed them in a plastic container as well as some in a baggie and both containers were affected so I can only assume they were affected prior to me receiving them. I hope this is not happening to anyone else but I felt this was important to share since so many are using these for food as I was. Hope this helps if anyone is having the same issue.

Not as Described. Dissappointed.
Not the same as stated in the description. They came as semi-pointed and not pointed. so no good for city chicken. Disappointed.

Great for Cake Pops with fruit!
Great to have for cake pops and mini BBQ skewers . . . . sturdy and handy, too, for veggie and fruit platters . . .

Worked very well for several craft projects that we had them in mind for, edible and non-edible. Would purchase again if need be.
