Defilingly a cooking upgrade
I purchased this after reading modernist cooking. The main reason I picked it up was for stocks but this pot is great for much more. The ability to cut down cooking times has been great for hosting multicourse meals or even quick dinners after work. The lid was a bit of a struggle to get on the first time until I saw the arrows after that I was very easy. I have not had any problems with cleaning the pot yet. My only real problem has been getting the glue from the sticker on the side off. After a few months of owning it I am happy with my purchase.

2.5 starts for spontaneous steam leaks
Spontaneous steams leaks have ruined many a pot of food as I fight to maintain pressure through turning up the heat and usually scorching the bottom of the pan. Smells up the house and pot for quite a while. Normally wasting precious food is a bad thing, but with food prices the way they are in 2023 the waste is a horrible thing.

A very high quality pressure cooker
This is my second Kuhn Rikon pressure cooker. I've had a 7.4 qt for years and wanted a smaller one. Kuhn Rikon build quality is very good and it's a pleasure to use. The simple design and high quality materials make these utilitarian tools beautiful as well as functional. They don't vent unless over-pressured, so you don't have to worry about managing water loss during cooking. I've never had anything burn in it. I have a third pressure cooker made by a reputable company that I use sometimes, but it's not in the same league. The Kuhn Rikon is easier to use and much easier to clean. The Kuhn Rikon also has a superior silicone rubber gasket. There are parts in my other pressure cooker that just aren't accessible to clean properly. I can't really think of a negative for the Kuhn Rikon other than the sticker shock!

Perfect for a smaller kitchen/ apartment situation.
Had to save up for this one but it was worth it. Are there cheaper options out there? Absolutely but they don't seem to equal the high quality, design and simplicity of this line.

It is exactly what I wanted. Could not be happier!!
I have used a Duromatic pressure cooker for more than 10 years. I needed a smaller one and this one is absolutely what I wanted. Love the updates also!!

Built to Last
Extremely Solid Cookware. We had our last one for almost 20 years until it disappeared during a move. Works great!

Missing a part
The little stem that regulates pressure is missing a spring. I called Kunh Rikon and the woman said they would get a part out in "the next day or two". That was two weeks ago and no part. For a company that touts their stuff as the best of the best with a price to match this is unacceptable. Unacceptable crappy quality control and unacceptable customer support. (Unacceptable)^2. Well they can keep their overpriced junk. It is going back. I am going to buy a pressure cooker for half the money that actually works.

I love it!
I love this pressure cooker, it's not so big as the 8 qt ones, which means faster cooking time! (less pressure to build up), the construction is "real" steel, not like the alumonium pressure cookers that have taken over the market. This is a plain and simple pressure cooker to use!

Love this little Pressure Cooker
Good quality built, small but big enough for 2. This is the first Pressure Cooker I use, because I've been scared of the old style pressure cooker in the 80s. I thought it would be difficult to use, how wrong was I, it is very easy - the user manual is well written, how to use it and also giving guide times for different ingredients. So far I've cooked different vegetables - potatoes, carrots, kale, broccoli, etc; and find that the veg are softer than I would like, so I jotted down less time on the manual so the next time they were perfect for me. I've also cooked oxtail, chicken and beef joint, and very happy with the result. I am particularly happy with how much faster it cooks compared to normal or slow cooking. I've saved time as well as money as I use less gas for my cooking. I should've used this pressure cooker years ago! I have since bought a larger (28cm 8ltr) Kuhn Rikon to cook larger meals. One niggle - It's a bit difficult to keep this beauty spotless, but I still give it 5 star for the performance.

Love my new p.cooker.
I bought the 3.5l version for the stove on the boat, it's exactly the same diameter of base to the kettle so the pan restraints don't have to be moved! The p.cooker is easy to use and easy to clean, I have made a lovely tagine in about 1 hour starting from scratch. iI's great to have a lovely warm meal when it's gone wet windy and cold; made in much the same time as heating up some 'cans of'. It also makes great marmalade! I am so impressed with it! So unlike the aluminium p.cookers I have used in the past.

It lives up to the reputation of "Swiss made"
I have three pressure cookers over the past 20 years (all still in use), but this is by far the best (although priciest). The gasket is very soft, and after five years it still stays like that, while the Tefal one went stiff and lost air-tightness after only 1.5 years. Another advantage of Kuhn Rikon over Tefal is that the gasket does not smell. The build of the lid is also superior. There are very few places to trap or lose steam, so it is far more energy efficient, and less liquid is lost. Being Swiss made, it is not only sleek but beautifully engineered. The only gripe I have is that it does not go into the dishwasher.

Major design flaw
The top steel cap has 3 very delicate plastic prongs 2 of these have broken off after a few months of buying it. Terrible design, why didn't they use a more robust substance.

REVIEW
Excellent quality. However, it was initially sold with a cooking book, which was never reached me. Also, I had to request a letter from Amazon to confirm that this would be my warranty in case I need it. But if I had not requested it, I would not have receive it and that was another important feature that the maker highlights.
