Great for blending oil based colored pencils

These are the only blenders I have found that are effectively blend my polychromos colored pencils!

Disappointed!!

I bought these after watching several videos and reading reviews. I have to say I am disappointed in these pens. They were packaged well but once I opened them and tried to use them, I was seriously let down. I don't know if the pens were simply dried out or what but they didn't work at all! They didn't blend any of my pencils! I wanted these pens to make blending easier but unfortunately I ended up having to use a blender pencil instead.

Dry upon arrival

Great Blenders

I didnt know what to really expect out of these but as soon as i tried them. I loved them, they worked great with my prisma and my poly colors so i can say their great for both oil and wax based colorpencils. They allowed me to layer more when coloring, but also just a bit of warning their great fir blurrs so dont accidentally over blend.

Très bien!

Bon rapport qualité prix. Mais je constate qu'il est préférable d'en avoir plusieurs afin d'éviter de transférer des teintes anciennes déjà "blendées" à de nouvelles avec un même crayon... la pointe se nettoie mal. Mais peut-être que c'est moi qui manque d'infos sur leur entretien...

Very useful

I've used this type of blending pen many times over the years and more for colour-pencil work than graphite. There are two different size nibs, one for general blending and one for more detailed work. They give a smoothness and stop the pencil strokes from dominating. If you sue them just now and again they last a while, but if you want to work a whole picture they would soon run out. I think it's best to work on your drawing and shading technique rather than relying solely on these blenders. A lighter touch with the pencil is far better and then use these now and again. Useful to have and can be used in conjunction with the other Derwent drawing aids and accessories.

Fantastic

I bought these a few months ago but today i got my watercolour pencils out and then used these pens to blend instead of water. They worked great. I was very surprised as i thought these were for ordinary colouring pencils. I wish i could have posted a side by side with these verses a water pen but could not. My suggestion is give it a go. Another great thing i have found playing today is that it doesn't matter if you use Distress ink pads these pens don't make the ink merge into the image as water does and you therefore don't have to wait till the ink dries in the hope that when it does then you don't touch the line to make them run again. I will be ordering another set soon. I don't want to order too soon as i have read comments that they dry out quick. Mine are still wet I store them on their side. I am not a professional but love the way these have turned out today. Enjoy.

Effective blender pens - but I'd like more emphasis on a sustainable design

These work really well and having different sized tips helps with coverage (with the larger tip) and detailed work (with the smaller tip). I'd like to see some suggestions from Derwent as to how these can become more sustainable. I suspect the blending liquid will run out before the tips are used up. It seems silly to create a completely new pen when all you need is a way of topping up - as one would with an ink pen.
