I HAVE more than one now!
I am finally updating this review after owning more than one of these bags for more than a year. I cannot say enough good things about this bag! There is only one fault - I still believe the only fault in the original design is that there is no dedicated key fob inside. I have tried many permutations of attachments for my keys since this first review (with photos of the modification) and have yet to figure out a way to carry all of my keys without them falling to the bottom of the bag or totally getting in the way at the top. I realize that this is an issue only because I carry lots of keys on different carabiners rather than it being a true fault of the bag, though! Don't let my one complaint deter you, though. Key issue aside, I truly believe this to be my bag soulmate. I have been carrying a black one now for over six months as my daily carry bag to my new office job and there is never a day that goes by that I can't fit everything I need to take to work - except my lunch and my laptop - in this bag. I tend to be a person who carries lots of devices, cords, toiletries, and, obviously, keys, in my bag. Even carrying two or three devices and all of my other stuff, I can still fit a couple of snack bars, gloves, a knit cap, or anything else my heart desires into this bag without it looking overstuffed or not zipping. The zippers have given me no trouble and that little outside zipper pocket which is hidden under the flap has been incredibly useful for carrying things to which I need quick access like lipgloss or money for tolls. It has also been helpful for carrying my ID and boarding pass when I have flown. I have pretty large hands, and I can still reach inside that pocket and get to the bottom of it to find things. So there has never been a need for me to unbutton the flap in all this time that I have owned this purse. Having carried the red bag in the black bag almost exclusively, and having purchased the blue bag last year sometime, I have now actually started lending and giving away this bag to other women because I know it is so fabulous and I want them to try it. Currently, my best friend has borrowed my red one (I am about ready to buy her a black one so I can get my red one back!), and I my boss from my previous job my practically-new blue one with the polka dot lining. I hardly ever used it because I rarely wear blue. Of course, I am using these "acts of good will" as an excuse to buy more and different colors of this bag for myself! Two of the bags I have had were with the 2014 polkadot lining. At first, I did not like that lining but it really grew on me. The light color made it very easy to see into the bag and find things that had gone to the bottom. (Though to be honest, because of the multitude of pockets in this bag items rarely do fall all the way to the bottom. Except keys.) The 2015 lining, which is a very pretty black and white chevron pattern, makes it a little harder to see into the bag. However, the black purse with the black-and-white lining looks really classy! That is about all I can think of to update. I hope that you will read the other positive reviews and realize that they outweigh the negative ones. This is a sturdy, useful, nice-looking bag. I hope now to gather enough versions and colors of it that I have one for the rest of my life! ********* Original review follows: I wish the manufacturer had more pictures of this bag on this product page. I have posted some, and of the modification I did to it. I bought it based mostly on the good reviews rather than knowing at all what the inside of it was like. (I just saw today that other product pages for the same bag, different colors --OGIO International Brooklyn Purse Sling Bag -- have more photos.) Turns out, it might just be perfect for my needs. I've only had it one day, but so far, so good. It's a great size, fairly lightweight even when stuffed to the gills, and the strap is not a bad length for me (I am 5 foot 4). I bought the red, and am seriously considering buying it in another color. I have spent years searching for "the perfect bag" and this... this might be it. (shivers!) I am downsizing from a fantastic and well-loved Osprey FlapJill laptop bag that had basically become my go-to bag because every other smaller bag I have didn't have enough pockets. Everything including my keys and phone would continually fall to the bottom of the bag, and that just made me mad. Since I no longer routinely carry a laptop around, I, like another reviewer, wanted a smaller bag that didn't scream "I have electronics in here!" I am a woman who carries everything in her bag, too. Need a snack bar? I probably have it. Need something cut or a bottle of wine opened? I have a pocket knife. Bandaid? Something to read? Covered. This bag has pockets in all the right places for all the crazy stuff I carry, more than one way to carry the tablet, and enough room that if I want to stuff it full, I can. I posted a picture of the bag, full; the pad is not in the middle compartment, however; I use that for all my little things like chargers and headphones. I love that it has a long, zippered compartment in the back, too, for things I don't use often but don't want to lose. One complaint I have so far, and it's a big one, is I didn't find a key fob inside. (If there is one I have missed, please, someone, reply about it). I ended up making my own. One side of the bag has a longer edge, and that edge, where the zipper meets the strap. is the perfect place for a small, zippered, outer pocket for phone or keys (ahem, Ogio!). To use that space, I sewed a small ring on the seam inside, to which I can attach my keys via a carabiner. I have a picture of that as well. The other complaint I have is that I wish the zipper was actually double-sided, so it could close anywhere along the zipper rather than having to zip it all the way from side to side. The way I hacked the key fob, though, having the zipper pull close up that side works beautifully. Some reviewers have noted that the front zipper pocket, behind the buttoned strap, is basically useless. I have to agree there, though you can reach up under the short side of the flap to access it. I only keep some small things I don't need all that often in there, like cough drops and business cards. Unbuttoning the buttons is a hassle, and the purse doesn't look as awesome with them undone. It sure seems secure from prying hands, though. The only other improvement I might make to this bag, were I to take it traveling, is run a steel cord through the strap so it becomes uncuttable. That way, it might be a great bag to take overseas in addition to every day. I will update the review as I use the bag and test its limits. Pros: Great medium size for people who carry a lot of stuff; well-padded tablet pocket, enough pockets for small items, great color Cons: No key fob, could use a double zipper, front pocket not easily accessible

Cute city purse with a few minor flaws
I purchased the OGIO Brooklyn Purse in Terra (essentially a woven/heathered medium brown color). One thing to keep in mind when looking at OGIO products they were meant for an urban market, people who are used to being on the go with subway travel, lots of walking etc. The purses and other bags are day-time casual, with a touch of school-girl character. Details and Character: * Large buttons are just for detail, the don't serve a true function. There is a VERY small pocket under the buttoned flap, but getting to it is cumbersome and the pocket is really too small to hold anything useful. That being said, for a girl on the go all day, storing something sensitive like keys that only need to be accessed at the very start and end of day would work well in that little pocket. I would prefer a key strap on the interior of the purse, but OGIO provides a hard to access pocket instead. * Interior lining of all the OGIO products I have used are the same slick polka dot fabric. People love it, people ignore it or people truly hate it. I mostly ignore it. No one has ever made a negative comment to me about the lining. I only hear "cute purse" or "cute backpack." The dots come back to the school-girl character for me, so you will have to decide if an internal lining is your deal breaker. The liner has held up with no snags or tears. * External fabric seems the same quality as the backpack I own. With the Terra color, spots and stains (if there are any on the purse) do not show. My backpack is red and is more likely to show spots or stains. I have been able to spot treat and machine wash (cold water) the bags with no issue. I air dry the bags. The external fabric has not snagged, ripped or shown signs of wear. * Stitching: externally and internally has held up since 2014. I have not found any loose threads or ripped seams. The buttons are still held on securely still. I do not know what the OGIO logo is held on with, but the logo is still securely attached, too. * Closure and Zipper: zips only one direction. I prefer a 2-way zip option so the zip can be at the front (city dweller) and in site regardless of which shoulder I wear the bag over. The zipper is secure and I do not experience snags or slips. The closure is is not a flat X axis deal, it sweeps up into the shoulder strap above the buttons. It bugs me a little, but on the taller side you can fit a taller item, like a water bottle. Back to the dark side, you have to unzip the full purse to get to the water bottle. * Internal pockets: The tablet pocket (padded pocket in the center of the purse) also has a zipper. It is a great place to secure your more delicate items, from tablets to phablets to sensitive documents. You will have to fold the documents, though. There are 2 additional pocket areas (no zipper) either side of the tablet pocket. I would have preferred the padded tablet pocket at the back and a larger pocket at the front, As it is you have to pick where your more bulky items will be stowed and go with it (think sunglasses case, wallet, water bottle). This MAY render the 3rd pocket nearly useless or hard to access. There are a couple of stitched in mini pockets to hold keys, pens, fem-products, charger, tissues, etc. They are adequate, but I can't rave about them. I've has difficulty accessing them, at times, and things have fallen out. * Shoulder strap: This strap is a fixed length strap. It is perfect length for me, but can be incredibly uncomfortable for someone else. I am about a size 4-6 adult top, height about 5 foot 3 inches. With the strap over the shoulder, the top of the bag falls just at the top of my hip. The wide strap is cut so that it lays flat and remains in place, minimizes unintended swinging around or knocking against your hip when walking. The shoulder strap is not an internally reinforced. Sometimes there is an internal cord or chain to reinforce the strap and minimize theft by cutting and running, I am surprised that OGIO did not reinforce the strap. The straps on the backpack are more secure. * Purse size: Big enough to hold a collapsible/retractable umbrella. Depending on what else you are carrying, MAY be big enough to hold a slim file folder or 8.5 x 11 notepad (not in the tablet pocket, though). Tablet pocket is big enough for a tablet or phablet with a basic cover. Tall enough at the peak to also hold a basic 16.9-ish oz. OTC water bottle upright, and still zip the purse securely closed. Overall I like the OGIO purse. It isn't my favorite purse because it is a bit too big and cumbersome even for my daily use (which I secure inside my OGIO backpack). But I do like it. I usually use this purse for travel and other around the town occasions.

A good bag
It is of good but not exceptional quality, the interior lining in particular is a little basic, but I think this is reflected in the price which is fair for what you get. I like the overall design and shape of the bag which I think is minimalist, smart and contemporary. There are plenty of pockets inside and a useful padded and zippered section for holding tablets or other small tech. Personally I would have preferred the strap to be a little longer, or adjustable, as I prefer a cross shoulder bag to sit on my hip, this sits just above my hip (5'6" average length torso) but I appreciate this will be different for everybody. Overall, a good product worthy of 4 stars.

LOVE it, even after a year of using it.
It has been a year since I bought this bag and I am still in love with it. The bag is still very beautiful, nothing ripped or broke. I use this bag as a purse, the color is a beautiful, light red, and the inside of the bag is white with a colourful polka dot pattern. The bag has 2 main compartments, separated by a padded zippered pocket to fit a tablet. My iPad 2 with a smart cover fits perfectly in it. On one side of the bag, there are 2 pockets that can fit a cellphone or a pack of gum, and 3 small pockets for pencils. The other side of the bag has one big zippered pocket, and the bottom of the bag is padded. There is also another pocket outside the bag, under the buttons. This pocket is perfect to put your feminine stuff, but you have to unbutton the flap to reach it so it's a bit tricky. Finally, the strap is not adjustable but the bag falls on my hip, so I am not bothered about it (I am 5'2" tall).
