only stretches one direction
Thermajohn Long Johns make these feel pretty bad. See Item B018DQI504 for the ones I'm keeping.

Perfect fit and very warm
Fits perfectly even after several washes. Very warm! I use these as a base layer during deer hunts in single-digit temps, my legs couldn't tell it was cold outside.

and because I am small I get cold easy. I have to wear multiple layers every day
+warm +wicking +not bulky -expensive -wind goes right through I live where it is cold, and because I am small I get cold easy. I have to wear multiple layers every day, but I don't want to look like snowboarder when everyone else is in jeans, so I layer underneath the jeans. The usual long-underwear type base layers are warm, but they are thick, they stick to the other layers and bunch up, and they don't manage sweat well. I wear these man-tights as my first layer over my normal underwear. They are smooth and slide past other layers well. They are also a little bit warmer than long johns, and wick away moisture as well. For serious cold weather, you will also need a mid layer and/or a wind-cutting layer, as these tights aren't meant to do the heavy lifting. Wind goes right through. I haven't compared them to other tights, but they sure do the job. They seem expensive too... Update 12/31/18: These are not as expensive or as warm as I thought. They are a little sweatier too compared to merino. Anything with a bit of merino wool will be a lot warmer. My current stack is tighty whities, then a merino wool blend one (which is much warmer than this one by itself), then this one, then the Nike windbreaker pants, then jeans on the outside. That stack works almost as good as full snow pants, but thin and all under the jeans. I am annoyed that my wool one, a '200 gram' thickness and this together are just barely cutting it. I want a single layer to do the insulating under the windbreaker. I am gonna try a '400 gram' one next. Be careful about pure merino, as pure wool sorta frays and won't last. This is still a huge upgrade from those cotton longjohns you wore as a kid, but there is better out there if you are willing to spend money.

I just received these and wore once to check them out this is what I can tell you
I am a older man who gets cold easy and whose health can't tolerate temp issues . My waist size can vary often as much as 50 pounds in a year . I currently am 195 pounds but been as much as 285 before . I get afraid to spend too much on clothes that won't fit . I read the reviews that these ran small and to buy one size up . I usually wear a xl now and have a 41 inch waist . I saw they had a draw string so I thought get the larger one if you need to you can draw it up so I bought the xxl . They are tight enough I don't need to even tie the draw string at all . They are very comfortable and I put them on for a bike ride at 15 mph under some tactical pants and I was sweating in 45 degree weather that I froze on without them at that speed . I will comment later on how warm they are but I am very happy and blessed I listened to others who complained they are right . BTW these are made in Jordan and the company is owned by Hanes International . They are very high quality and very soft . The sweat was dry in no time and I only use cold water in my wash and with expensive clothes like this I have no problem line drying to make sure they stay new . It is better for the environment anyways . I have had heavier artic underwear but again I will comment on warmth after it gets cold . Buy one size up you wont regret it if your honest on your size and they do not have a fly . I will take a star off later for that if it is a problem but I think I can pull them down through my ski or tactical pants . They say it is warmer , cheaper to make plus proper . We will see .

Warm, a bit tight
These have kept me warm at -6c (21f?) under fleece lined pants, so they serve their purpose; not enough under jeans or single layer pants at those temperatures, I got them as didn't want to pay $100 for merino thermals and thinner thermals weren't cutting it. They sit a little low and feel tighter than I'm used to, but are comfortable.

Excellent customer service
This thermal was of good quality but I wanted something thicker for our cold Canadian winters so I returned it. I mailed it back and emailed a receipt of the postage paid. Their customer service was first rate and was refunded right away.

falls down
There a comfortable pant keeps me warm while i work. My only problem with them would be the back always falls down and my back/ass is cold. front stays up high and everything but the back falls all the time. Im not a small guy im 6 2 215lbs. Very annoying while working. I do pull the string as tigh as i can but doesnt help.

Somewhat snug but exactly what I was looking for
Somewhat snug, but exactly what I was looking for. Tight fitting, like compression pants, but a bit thicker, and definitely cheaper than other options. About -5 to -8 and I am wearing this under a slim fit jeans and holding up pretty well.

Standard stuff
Thick and warm. It is not as elastic as I would expect. You may want to buy one size larger
