This pant vs. other Columbia styles: Saturday Trail, Just Right Capri, Aruba, etc.
I purchased the Just Right capri, the Aruba capri and the Saturday Trail Capri in identical sizes. I also order the Saturday Trail pant and Anytime Outdoor boot cut pant. There is quite a bit of difference in fit. In some of the listings there was a chart which described the cut of the garment and that should be in ALL the listings and not just in some of them. It should also be clearly stated how the particular garment you are looking at falls in that chart. The Just Right capri is much looser in the waist and leg when compared to the Saturday Trail knee pant. They are not baggy, just not as close to the skin. Definitely a more relaxed feel. They are also a few inches longer. The Saturday Trail comes midway across my knee cap, the Just Right capri come a good 2-4 inches below my knee. I like both and will keep both, however the Saturday Trail is a bit tight at the waist and as there is no give in the waistband or the ability to custom size by having snaps in several locations along the waist band, I had better not gain any weight! They have a more athletic look to them. The Saturday Trail line of knee pants and longs pants can NOT be "dressed up" as it really looks athletic with a fit very close to the body. The Saturday Trail knee pant has an adjustable stretchy elastic through the bottom which you can slide to make it completely closed against the leg or leave open/relaxed where you then have in my case at least a couple inches or so loose. As that piece (which I can't for the life of me remember the name of it right now) is outside the hem, it is visible when worn and gives a very casual sporty look to the Saturday trail capri. I had ordered the Aruba pant that could be rolled up to a capri length that was said to run small so order one size larger. It did fit around the waist but was so baggy around the butt and particularly around my legs that it looked terrible. Only if overall the cut is a size too small or size to big can going up/down work for you. When it is just the waist which is small and the remainder is cut a size too big it makes for a terrible fit. If you are built with larger hips and legs and a small waist I recommend the Aruba otherwise the fit just won't work for you. The other issue with the Aruba is it had only an exterior button to hold the cuff in place so the inside of the leg kept coming unrolled (especially since it was already too large in the leg). So if you are looking for pants that turn into capris I would recommend the Saturday Trail Pant. Yes it runs slimmer just as the knee pants do, but when rolled up it fits closer to your leg and has buttons on both the inseam and outside seam to hold the cuff in place. I really appreciate the versatility that having the capacity to wear as either a long pant or a capri that the Saturday Trail pant provides. When cuffed it looks like it was intended to be that way as opposed to looking like you just rolled up a pair of long pants! I had also ordered the Just Right long pant in a boot cut. I loved the fit, not as tight as the Saturday Trail around the waist and not as close to the body over all. But a boot cut without wearing a boot just looks a bit silly! I tried them on with sandals and from the side they looked great but from the front and back they looked "bell" shaped on the bottom as a result of the boot cut which is really not flattering on most women. If I end up wearing these in the fall and winter, I can see going back and getting one with a boot cut as I have so man pairs of boots. Unlike the Saturday Trail, the Just Right long pant doesn't really work well as a rolled up capri so you loose that bit of versatility. The first two pairs of Columbia pants I purchased were at Marshalls and I paid no attention to the name of them. When I went to get more I had to order one of most styles to find the pant which came closer to the ones I purchased last year which must have been discontinued. (If you know how to find the style number/name from interior tags let me know please!) While I have not tired other companies versions of the Columbia bottoms, I tend to be brand loyal when I find one which is so well made, which washes well, fits well and will last for more than one season. I can't compare to the Eddie Bauer for example because the Columbia ones while more expensive had performed so well that I had no interest in trying them. I would be interested in reviews which compare other manufacturers pants f

Excellent travel pants! Long length, needed hem, water resistant, stylish, comfortable and verrrry flexible. Love.
I've been calling these my airplane pants. We just recently took a lovely trip back home to Nova Scotia. It's summer, I don't really need the heavy warmth of regular jeans but I thought that something thin and flexible for wearing on the lonnng plane flight would be good. I wanted something lightweight, dark to hide spills, flexible and something that could withstand hiking about the woods in rural Canada. These were perfect! Mind you that was after I hemmed them. I am not sure who these pants were made for length wise, lady giants? I had to cut off a good 4 inches of length and re-hem them before they were the perfect length for my leg. Not a big deal but if you are short on time, want pants like these for a specific travel purchase as I did, keep the long length in mind. I am 5'6", so what I consider average height and found these reallllly long. I'l post pics of what I cut off and what the final length was. The material is indeed lightweight and has a beautiful stretch to it. That stretch means when you hem you'll need an appropriate stretch stitch so your stitches don't bust. I spent some quality time googling my hem options and familiarizing myself with my sewing machine's stretch stitch option before beginning. I was a bit nervous cutting my new pants but I went slow and ironed them, pinned them, took lots of precautions and they turned out perfect. Can't even tell they are not the factory hem unless you get down at ankle level and stare hard at the stitches... The pants are so lightweight and rolled into such a tiny little ball of fabric that I, quite geekily, weighed them! They weigh the same amount as a single pair of my most worn/favorite cotton cargo shorts. Suuuhhhweet. As for space in my luggage they hardly took up any. As I mentioned though I wanted these first for wearing on the air plane, it was an overnight flight and wanted maximum comfort. I was indeed verrrrry comfortable. My one complaint...WHY DO MANUFACTURERS NOT GIVE WOMEN DECENT POCKETS????? Seriously. It's stupid. Put the deep pockets in and let us decide if we want to stuff them and add pack mule like bulges to our thighs. If I am traveling I don't care if my cell phone bulges my front pockets or a wad of tissue or cough drops...I'd just like the option of carrying those things. Women's pant's pockets are notoriously short and I find it insulting. I purchased a pair of Columbia brand hiking pants for my husband at the same time as mine and they of course had wonderful, usable pockets. I won't ding them a star because it didn't affect my opinion of the over all feel, use and comfort and also it seems to just be an overall annoying clothing trend. But Columbia.....you'd impress me if you changed this antiquated habit of short, unusable pockets for future pants. I read up on these pants before committing to the purchase so I knew they were water resistant but WOW. They are VERY water resistant. Like if you take a handful of water and toss on your leg (there's that geek testing again) the water just rolls off. Of course if you submerge the material they will get wet but for spills, splashes, light rain the water literally rolls off. When we were outside in some light showers I just gave them a flick on the way inside and knocked the water beads off. They dry pretty quickly as well. We had access to a washer and dryer on our trip but I suspect these would be the sort of clothing you could hand wash in a sink and wring and dry in the air. I will try that out some time. I was careful the first time I dried them, keeping my eye on them and checking every few minutes. I find with these modern fabrics they either go nutso and shrink or do something weird or they are super star space age modern marvels, these are modern marvels. I followed the instructions, cool water, gentle cycle for drying (no high heat). They washed well. They can wrinkle a little, so if you fold or hang them right out of the dryer they look best. However I do find the wrinkles relax away after wearing or hanging so again, no big deal. We were in a humid environment, East Coast summer so quite moist, we didn't need long pants like these the whole time and I did find they got a bit stuffy after the sun was up. Not a biggy, just letting you know they're not as cool as shorts, despite their light weight etc. They look like dress pants. This is actually really awesome. They look like I'm "dressing up" instead of heading out to hike a trail or wander around the woods. I received many compliments on them when I was wearing a nice white t-shirt with them and kept having an internal mental giggle because I was wearing hiking clothes...nothing "fancy". I am a size 18 usually for most average department store pants. Considered "plus size" These pants fit my hips and legs etc really great. In fact for the first time in a while I wondered if I should have went a size smaller... These were actually a little loose on me but again I wanted maximum comfort not maximum style so loose sounded good for long airplane travel. I may try the size 16 in the future because for one, you save moolah in the smaller sizes and also it might be nice to have that slimmer option.. I did find after an all day wear the pants got even looser, stretched a bit...but they tighten back up after a wash. They have a VERY HANDY draw string cord as well as the snap and zip. I saw some one else mention the zipper falling down. THANK-YOU to who ever commented on that. I took the precaution of black undies for travel and halfway through the airport I realized things were feeling a bit breezy and lo and behold my zip was down..er....not cool...well it was cooling but not "cool". Anyways, be aware of that as well. It only happened once but once was enough for me to check every once in a while ;) I did find cat hair really clung to these, just remembered that...but I didn't have any dryer sheets at the place we were staying so maybe that's not an issue if they've been dryed with those..hmm, I'll look in to that further. I was visiting my Mom who had a verrrrry cat-hairy spot to sit and after I stood up I realized I'd taken half the cat hair with me haahaha. Let's see...That's all I can think of for now. These are really awesome pants and my minor complaints are just that, minor and don't feel they warrant dinging a star. Their supreme comfort and stretch that let me do anything from deep squats, hiking up a hill, sit for long periods in a plane seat are what I wanted and these excelled there. They satisfied all my needs and I hope they are long lasting in their wear. I'll do a longer term update in 6 months or a year or something.

My new favorite pair of hiking pants!
I bought these pants and a few others for a hiking trip recently and this pair is by far the best purchase I made. For reference, I purchased these in a medium. They are so cute and I’m obsessed with the flared legs. These fit so well on me and they make my rear look great lol! However, I will say that you may show some crack when squatting if you have a thicker lower half (I wore leggings underneath so this wasn’t a problem at the time). Speaking of squatting, I had no issues with seams popping when squatting or other strenuous movements that may cause tearing. The material is not only very comfortable, but very durable as well. I did a lot of climbing and sliding down rocks on this trip and the pants held up very well. Also, It was really cold in the mornings when I wore them on my trip, and these definitely kept my legs warm but we’re still breathable enough so that I didn’t get hot when it warmed up during the day. Also, these pants are very stain resistant in addition to being water resistant. There were moments where I thought I would definitely have a grass stain but they seemed to wipe right off! I can say enough how much I love these pants!

Great Pants
I have owned a pair of these pants before and they lasted 10 years. I was so happy to find them again. I have used them for travel and find them to be very comfortable and flattering. I am 5"4'' and wear a 10 Short and don't have to hem them.

Best pants ever!
I bought the same type of pants 10 years ago and still wear them today. The only reason I bought a new pair was I accidentally ripped the pocket. Comfy and lightweight.

Love these pants
I love these Columbia pants. Fit perfectly. Universal as I am able to wear these when hiking/camping or running into the grocery store, etc. Very comfy. Shipping took a bit longer than other Amazon shipments but well worth the wait!

Excellent work pants...for a good while.
Pros: Lightweight, very light stretch but in all the right places. Business-casual, work-appropriate technical pants. Washer and dryer- friendly. Best stored on hanger. Cons: Snap closure does not hold up to time.

I live in these pants now.
I bought a size 6. My waist is 26ish and butt is 36. Fits a little loose but I reckon I can wear a thermal during winters and be super comfy. I love the fit. Easy to wash. Quick to dry. Fabric feels comfortable to the skin. Pants allow me to move in any way. Can do yoga in these pants as well.
