Keep Dry and Warm Walking - Running - Cycling With O2 Rain Wear
I purchased the O2 Rain Wear jacket first and quickly discovered the jacket kept me warm and dry and purchased the pants. I live on Whidbey Island north of Seattle about fifty miles yes, Whidbey Island is blessed with rain to keep our trees green and lush, both of the garments keep me dry and warm! The jacket and materials are very light and slightly stiff like heavy rain wear but, I quickly found the material repelled the rain and mist very well as my under garments were also kept dry and warm! The rain wear material slight stiffness is a benefit as it helps repel rain and mist from gathering on the pants and jacket. The material appears to breathe somewhat to vent your body heat to prevent you from sweating which can cause under garments to become soaked. I’m a very frugal guy who doesn’t like to spend “big bucks” on expensive running garments and shoes. I doubt the 02 Rain Wear are as effective as the well know and very expensive brand of rain repelling gear but, I keep dry and warm with the 02 Rain wear. A couple of thing you should know about 02 Rain wear, the garment pants and jackets don’t have pockets. The jacket has a very nice hood to cover your head securely with a shoe lace type of cord to tighten the hood to keep your head dry. The pants tops and bottoms have an elastic band to seal the rain from intruding on to your under garments. I think the 02 Rain Wear deserve five stars! Excellent value, keep you dry and warm!

For really cold weather
So far it hasn't gotten cold enough here in So Cal to give these an impartial trying-out. I got these for riding my bicycle in the rain. One morning when it began to rain I eagerly donned the pants and matching jacket. By the time I got to work my shorts were soaked... not by rain. By sweat! This product does an excellent job of keeping the rain off but it doesn't "wick" (a fancy way of saying "breathe") so your sweat stays put and saturates whatever you wear underneath the rain gear. If I was in North Dakota that probably wouldn't be an issue (I'm assuming it gets so cold in ND that there is no need to sweat)... but here in warm So Cal that presents problems. Our So Cal winter does - believe it or not - get a bit cold during the mornings, especially on a bike. So I'm sure I'll get the chance to put these rain pants through their paces. For the meantime, though, 4 stars.

pants are terrific
Just like the jacket, the only reason for missing perfection = no pockets. So, if you're not lifting up the jacket to get a tissue or your keys, you're pulling down the pants. They provide excellent protection, are breathable, and really roomy enough to put over jeans without a problem and still walk or hike. Size idea = 5'5'' | 145 lbs = medium over jeans / hiking pants. If you think you'll feel more comfortable in a large, they will be long for a 5'5" person. But, cuff the bottom and you're there.

Warm and dry. Sizes run large.
These pants are very warm and dry. I rode 8 miles in mixed snow and rain and was actually a bit too warm, although remedied by removing some other clothing. The sizes run very large. I normally wear medium or large so bought the large. It is quite loose but works if I use rubber band around the legs to avoid getting into the bike sprocket. I bought a small for my wife and found I could easily fit in it. So, I advise buying a size down. They would be better if there was elastic on the cuffs. I'm not sure about durability, but for emergency gear, they are light and pack small.

Very light weight. Very adequate.
These are very light PVC with some type of perferating fusing of the liner. Works well, easy on easy off. Remove shoes first because they are tapered at the ankle with room increasing up towards the knees and waist. I ordered the XL because of my winter riding and long legs. My dimension are 36 waist and 34 inseam yet, with thermal underwear and jeans these pants have sufficient room with easy pedaling and non interference with the action. If you would only wear this in summer or warmer climate I am guessing you MIGHT!!? be able to order a smaller size since I live in Southern Indiana on the Ohio River. Included is a small bag 8" x 12" that are used to stow the jacket and made of same material with a draw string. I do use it sometimes when weather is impending but when I return home I immediately hang it on a nice suit hanger with the drop tail jacket. Owned for 14 months no rips or tears.

Bright, Lightweight,I wonder about durabilty
I have black goretex rain pants I wear when it rains hard or is daylight. I got these to wear at night or when caught out in a shower. The pants are very light weight and come with a pouch, so I keep them in my panier and it doesn't take much room. I can pull the pants on (carefully) over my bike shoes, and use an ankle strap to gather the surplus material. As a driver it amazes me to see serious bikers on high end road bikes dressed in dark clothing at night. I may be imagining, but when I wear my radioactive yellow jacket and pants, drivers give me a wider berth.

Excellent for what you get
I bought the rain shield and the pants and the first time I rode my bike in them was awesome. It started out with just a little rain and then cats and dogs. When I got home I was dry. What more could you ask for. I know one day that they will fail on me and rip or something because they are not made out of the best material, but for this price what more could you ask for. It keeps you dry and folds up and stores easily.

These are great to squash down really small to pack as a ...
I bought these because I read a review from someone in Seattle. I'm in Oregon commuting to work 26 miles a day. These are great to squash down really small to pack as a just in case sort of thing but to depend on these for regular use is not practical. It feels like I'm wearing paper and I'm constantly aware of them fearing I'll tear them with every move. They have their uses but not for me. I've got about a 150 miles use out of them so far and they did keep most of the rain out.
