Ordered for both my boys
Ordered for both my boys who are different sizes. Got the correct size for the older son and did not get the correct size for the younger son. I ordered an XL for my youngest and a large form of my oldest. I got the large for my oldest and the XL were super small and they fit like a large

I bought a size up since my son is built like a bear cub. But he may be able to wear these for 2-3 years ????

Fits bigger but good quality and recommended
I bought a few of them.in Large and XLarge and they ran big. My son is very tall and is wearing the large but he could have done the mediums. I'd say Large fits big on a 12 year old. Quality is great and at $5 it was great price

Sizing Not the Same As Previous
This brand/style was previously sold exclusively at a popular large retail store (the one with the red bullseye) and I always bought them each summer because they were affordable and durable...the mesh never tore. I was disappointed when that store stopped carrying the brand but relieved to see Amazon was now selling the C9 mesh shorts. However, if you are looking, like me, for the same type of C9 shorts previously sold at that large retail store you should be aware the sizing/cut is not the same as it was in years past. My 10 yr old, tall/skinny son wore a Medium in C9 Mesh shorts when they were sold previously at the other store but the Amazon C9 medium is much bigger and super baggy. Looks sloppy. Tried a Small and they are way too small/short for him. So he won't be wearing C9 Mesh shorts this summer. Similarly my 6 yr old son consistently wear's an XS in this brand, and while he can still wear the XS sold from Amazon it is baggier and has more fabric than his other ones.
