Love this oxo skillet
We threw away our "nonstick" coated skillet and now have all stainless steel . Easy to clean after soaking a short time. Following product directions and experiencing good results

Love this!
I am not a fancy cook, just a mom trying to get away from non-stick pans who's coating tears and leach carcinogens into my family's foods. Theses are easy to clean, and easy to cook with. They feel sturdy and heat evenly with a bottom that works wonderfully with my glass top stove. The bottoms won't warp, like some of the other pans I've had did. I bought this brand and style in particular because Consumer Reports recommended them, and I am not disappointed.

A workable but not perfect replacement for non-stick pans - 3.5 stars
Since learning about the harmful chemicals in most non-stick surfaces like Teflon, I've been trying to replace our pots and pans with other surfaces, but I admit it's hard because I like the non-stick feature. Stainless steel is a decent alternative, but, to state the obvious, it is not a non-stick surface. Using this pan I find that I have to keep stirring more, especially as the liquid boils off, in order to prevent sticking and burning food to the bottom of the pan. With that said, however, the sticking issue is not as bad as I feared it would be. Because food is more likely to stick, clean-up is more difficult as well. I find I need to soak this pan for a while before food will wash off easily. The product information says to hand wash this pan, which is not a problem since we don't even own a dishwasher, but possibly inconvenient if you do. Also, I've already noticed a couple of mildly discolored spots. I am also mildly annoyed at the design of the handle, but I admit my problem stems from my own lack of grip strength. The handle is smooth and rounded, so when I try to tip it to pour out food (for instance, to drain ground beef), the handle just slips back and it's difficult to keep it tilted. You probably have greater wrist strength than I do, so this may not be a problem for you. Overall, I'm pretty ambivalent about this pan. It does cook evenly and adequately and I do use it a lot, but I have also discovered ceramic coated non-stick pans that I greatly prefer.

Heavy duty, functional, and beautiful
I appreciate quality cookware that will stand the test of time, but our 40-year old, hand-me-down, 12" stainless skillet is warped on the bottom and showing some pitting. With that in mind, I seized the opportunity to test the 12" Mira tri-ply stainless skillet from OXO. The Mira skillet is beautiful and notably smooth. While it has the taller sides expected of a skillet, the sides also have a gentle slope that makes it very easy to wash. The skillet is heavy. This is an asset, because you can tell it's solidly constructed. It is not as heavy as cast iron or carbon steel, but it is certainly hefty for stainless steel, which I assume is due to the three-layer construction with an aluminum core. Those who have arthritis or difficulty lifting may want to look for a lighter cookware. The metal handle also feels solid and is comfortable in my hand. Another feature I noticed is that the rivets for the handle are flush against the inside of the pan. This is a nice touch, as it creates less of a food trap and is easier to clean. Thus far, I have tested the skillet by cooking grilled-cheese sandwiches. It heated evenly and resulted in crispy, browned perfection. The lighter corners of bread in my photo are due to bread shape and buttering, not the pan. I'm excited to sear meat with the ability to finish it off in the oven. Our former skillet did not have an oven-safe handle, whereas this one can handle oven temps up to 600 degrees. I'm a big fan of the 12" OXO Mira skillet and anticipate it will remain a workhorse in my kitchen for many years to come.

excellent pan - should last a long time with care
I like well-made and solid cookware. This OXO fry pan is awesome. I think it looks so attractive it is almost a shame to cook with it. The pan is heavy and it quickly heats evenly. The photo sequence shows the empty pan though the process of making an Indian dish and cleaning. I found I needed a lower temp setting setting than with my older pan. After browning the chicken the pan looked like it might not clean up well but deglazing and scraping with a spatula while making the sauce took care of it. (For what it's worth, I used avocado oil.) The next to the last photo shows the pan after the meal has been served. After it cooled off, all it took to clean was a soft sponge and hot water. I then dried it with a soft towel and hung it up. I'm going to enjoy cooking with this fry pan. I haven't yet decided if it will go into the dishwasher. OXO says it is okay but since I have the pan hanging where it is visible, I don't want to risk tarnishing the surface. Very definitely 5 stars. I gave a slightly lower mark on the cleaning topic since it does require a little elbow grease with the sponge.

Worth its weight in copper.
This pan reminds of the old days, with the old Looney Toons shows or Tom and Jerry, where they take a frying pan and bop someone on the head with it. This thing has some serious heft and weight to it. If you aren't use to heavy frying pans, this will either turn you off to it or give you a work out with your forearms. This thing is mean and heavy, and gets the job done. It's great for grilling and frying, built for it. It's all stainless steel and you can go to town with utensils and whatever else you want to throw at it. It's not scratchproof, but it'll take the hits and beating and still last. The rivets are extremely sturdy as well, solid and flush, no movement. Some pans I have, they have some play already brand new and only worsen and loosen more over time. With the weight this pan has, they look to hold for quite some time. Clean up, as expected, depends on what you cook and how you clean up afterwards. Heavy grilling/frying, expect to let it soak for a bit in your sink with soap. Then you can scrub to your heart's content with a Brillo pad, like the old days. No worries, just stainless steel ready to take a beating.
