Best one I have found!

This is an awesome BBQ tool I smoke a lot of meat and often use rub in my spritzer and most of the pump sprayers get clogged so I switched to this and it works excellent.

Nice idea but

I filled it with avocado oil and then used it to baste raw salmon. Duh. After turning the bottle right side up, I am sure salmon cells got into the bottle. So the whole idea is rendered useless. Might as well use a baster brush in a small bowl of oil.

Handy bottle for basting

I grill a lot, doesn't matter what kind of weather it is. Having this bottle cuts down the things I have to carry back and forth from the grill. Holds quite a bit, and the 2 different tops makes it easy to get the chunkier marinades out and onto the meat or food. For the most part, cleaning it is fairly easy, nothing that a regular bottle brush can't take care of. It also helps to soak it in warm soapy water first. The bristle top is a bit more work to clean, especially if there are food bits from the marinade that get trapped. Just have to make sure to use a brush or toothpick to get any bits out. Overall, a very handy item for the kitchen and grill.

Great basting setup with some minor nits

I received this product in exchange for my unbiased review. This OXO bottle comes with two tops, a silicone basting brush for barbecue and other sauces, and a squirt top for storing extra sauce. Like pretty much every other OXO product it's dishwasher safe. In addition, it fully disassembles for easier cleaning. The bottle has all kinds of nice features that aren't immediately obvious. The basting brush top also seals tightly into the bottle to prevent leaks, and the screw top that holds it in place has an integrated drip cup to help keep the sauce from dripping down the side of the bottle. The brush is self sealing so you have to squeeze the bottle a bit to get sauce to flow. The squirt top doesn't just screw on like other squirt bottles. Instead, it actually seals tightly into the bottle to prevent leakage with the attached cap really just holding it in place. The squirt top is also reversible for storage. The squirt has an attached cap that can be opened and closed easily with just one hand. We tried the basting brush on short ribs and it worked great! The basting brush worked really well and the drip cup kept the bottle clean. We also tried the squirt top. The lid generally keeps liquid from leaking out but it doesn't seal all that tightly. It's designed for sauces and with the relatively large 1/4" opening you won't want to use it for oils and thinner liquids. Cleanup was really easy - just disassembled it and popped it in the dishwasher. I really like this product, but it could be a bit better. First, although the tops are designed to come apart for cleaning, when not on the bottle the two pieces are really loose and I think parts are going to get lost eventually. I think it would have been an improvement if the two halves of the bottle tops snapped together so you could handle them as a single piece. Amazon sells this for $9 and I think it's a great value. Highly recommended!

Innovative design

Who knew you could take a squeeze bottle and improve it so dramatically?? OXO at work again!! The concept to this bottle is that you get both a built-in basting brush that doesn’t drip all over the bottle, then swap it out for a lid to store it away. The set comes with five separate pieces: - Squeeze bottle - Plastic cap with hinged lid - Plastic screw on ring to hold cap in place - Silicone basting head - Plastic screw-on basting collar Since the lid comes stored upside down in the bottle I was hoping that these pieces would all snap tightly together (nest) so that I don’t lose things in the cupboard. It sort-of works - to store: - Place lid upside down into bottle -Then screw on long collared ring with basting brush tips inside -Finally, place shorter ring to hold lid on top Don’t snap the second lid down onto the top of the first tightly - it will be SUPER hard to get apart. You can push it down a little bit to keep pieces together though. What I love about this set: The bottle is big (12 ounces) and has markings of quarter cup, ml, and oz so that you can use the bottle to measure with. - The bottle is made of thicker plastic than the cheap squeeze bottles I own. - I love that this has a long collar and a built-in valve that can regulate how much comes out of the basting tip so you don’t end up with sauce all over the outside of the bottle. - If you squeeze hard the contents don’t pour out of the lid or push the cap off. - I love the hinged cap on lid which stays put (open or closed). - The silicone brush heads integrated into the basting lid work well. The brush tips are 1.5” in lengt - of them 1.25 stick above the collar. - The bottle is BPA free. - This is easy to clean by hand or in the dishwasher. The only thing I’m not sold on is swapping back and forth between the brush head and the lid. We generally don’t grill out multiple times in a week so I wouldn’t have leftovers to stick in the fridge and use again (and I won’t use the raw stuff from marinading on cooked chicken). But regardless, it’s nice to have both options in one bottle without having to buy two different bottles. Overall, a neat innovative concept that really does work work well!

Great Choice Basting Bottle

This OXO Good Grips Grilling, Basting Bottle is a really great choice when it comes to grilling utensils. This basting bottle has really come in handy for me while grilling. You can mix up a sauce or marinade in this bottle and then use the brush end to baste or brush the sauce or marinade on your piece of meat. It makes it so much easier than using a pastry brush. I would highly recommend this basting bottle to all grillers!
