My wife and I have several Good Grips products at use in our kitchen, so when I had the chance to grab this OXO Good Grips Prep & Serve Kitchen Tool Set I took it. We already have a solid group of cooking items: spoon, fork, tongs, and the like, but all are rubber and she thought the addition of the metal would work better in certain situations. So far we are happy with this OXO Good Grips Prep & Serve Kitchen Tool Set, though using it slightly differently than “designed.” It arrived in a good, product familiar box, well suited to basic use or gifting. The base holder is nice, albeit too short. Our others are slightly more narrow, but also slightly taller, keeping things from leaning over too much. This is an annoyance rather than problem - having these tall spoons and forks leaning out and catching things. But, we also didn’t really need another base holder - yet being a Good Grips metal holder it still offered us something good. We have an area by the sink where we keep a lot of the plastic and tall items to dry post-wash. We have added this Good Grips base holder to this area so we have a place to hold the tall items coming out - the additional reason being, it has a removable rubber base over holds in the rubber bottom - see pictures. This means we can take things out of the dishwasher, put them in here, and let them dry, then if needed, pull off the base and clean or dry it out. Works perfectly. The spoons and forks are great - again, very tall, but the metal works great for us in many situations. If you have used Good Grips before, this OXO Good Grips Prep & Serve Kitchen Tool Set has the familiar handles with the rubber grip and the side “ridges” that allow for, well, a good grip. it’s comfortable and easy to hold. These are longer spoons and forks - along with the metal - from what we have, so we can use them for things our others are not as good at. For example, our only forks at present are designed for service, so using them during cooking can be a bit problematic. In this case we can easily reach the back of the stove without issue. So far they clean up and are great for use, so in the end we are really happy with them and happy that we once again grabbed a Good Grips product.
