As expected, audible ticker, med-high quality band, would buy again.
I'm not crazy about the band, it is stiff and already show signs of wear after only a month of use. I am an active gardener, so this is not totally unexpected and I will replace it eventually. I bought it for the watch and I love it except for the audible ticker. I prefer to sleep with my watch on occasionally (naps, ya'know), but its too distracting and I have to keep it in a drawer at night. I love the look. I love the date window. I like the light. I'd buy it again. Also, I have a very small wrist and this is a comfortable watch size for me.

Practical watch, but don't expect it to last long.
This is my third Timex Expedition. I buy, use them (and even like them a bit) because they are the only analog watches analog with an effective lightening. It's especially bright in this Expedition model, so you may read the hour in your sleeping bag in the middle of the night. The design is OK, at the first glance the quality seems OK. too. Sadly, one of my Expeditions (and another Timex I owed & used) had lost its crown after just a few years of not-that-intensive service. The calendar of the second one was never working... On the other hand, a friend uses a similar one for many years already without any problems... I'd say, it's cheap, looks good and will work fine for some time, but will probably not last as long as you hope.

Almost perfect
The display is perfect. I already knew the strap was going to be too small and ordered a replacement when I ordered this one. I just wish the original strap was longer. Before I switched it out I noticed the fabric doesn't move smoothly through the buckle. This though is minor compared to the battery cover on the back of the watch. The edge of this cover is so sharp, it feels sharper than my fanciest kitchen knives. I worry one day my finger will graze it because that's going to be a hell of a cut. Due to it being so sharp, it is not comfortable to wear for long. My wrist starts to hurt soon after putting it on. It's so irretating, I end up taking it off. If it weren't a requirement to have this style of watch for nursing school, I would return it.

Well-priced smaller watch
Review 18 months after purchase. This is the third one of these that I’ve bought. Great to find a watch with a smaller face; most watches are uncomfortably big for my wrists Built-in lighting is great — Timex still seems the best way to get a watch that you can read at night, without paying for a fancy smartwatch that needs to be charged all the time. They don’t last forever. The finish wears off the knob and eventually off parts of the case. But I’ll keep buying them as long as Timex makes them, because they are the best option.

Basic watch, works, easy to read
This pretty much checked off the things I'm looking for in an everyday watch. It's inexpensive so I'm not too worried about it getting banged up. The strap is comfortable and even on a hot day does not get unbearably damp. Dial is easy to read with clear hands and numbers. I do miss some of the cooler tech features, especially NTP synchronization but it's not really a big deal. Time is accurate for what I need.

Great watch for the price.
Very pleased with this purchase. This is a fantastic watch for the price. Smart, field-watch styling with its slightly vintage, military look. The red arrow second hand (on this black-faced version of this watch) is a nice design accent. If there's any lume on the hands, I can't see it. What the watch does have is Timex's Indiglo backlight which lights up the whole watch face with a push of the crown. I'd much rather have the indiglo because modern (non-radioactive) watch lume fades faster than the daylight and isn't much use in the middle of the night. The indiglo backlight is truly beautiful and makes the watch very readable in the dark. As others have noted, there's a tiny flat spot at the bottom of the dial. Doesn't detract from the look as far as I'm concerned. Some reviewers have complained about the loud ticking. Other don't seem to notice. Perhaps this is due to differences between individual watches, or perhaps between individual ears. I don't notice the ticking unless the watch is within a foot of my ear and only when there's no other background noise. This may also be a matter of age; anybody above the age of 50 grew up with wall clocks and bedside clockwork alarm clocks so will have little trouble tuning out any minor ticking noise even if their ears can hear it. The watch takes a CR2016 battery which is one of the larger batteries to fit in a watch, giving it a claimed 10-year battery life. This is an important point because it beats having to change out a battery every year or two. Fewer battery changes translates to less cost and less disturbance to the waterproof seal. Over a 10-20 year period, if you're paying at the store to get the battery swapped, a 10-year period is going to save more than the cost of this watch (or even a much more expensive one). If you're the sort of person who does their own battery swaps, the stainless steel back is of the pop off style, with a small tab to get a knife or case toll underneath to prey off the back. It's probably the pop-off back which limits the water resistance to 50m (fine for swimming but not scuba). The watch has a 3-position crown (technically 4 if you include the indiglo function). The middle position allows fast adjustment of date, ie no need to wind the watch through 24 hours to advance the date window. Handy for day after the last day of a 30-day month. The watch has 18mm lug size, so it's easy to find/install replacement straps. Field watches tend to be very versatile and can take on a whole different character depending on the type of strap. Typical of inexpensive watches, as the the second hand ticks it doesn't always align very well with the marks on the circumference of the dial. If this bugs you, you should be looking at the $200 watches. The 36mm case size suits me (and my wrist size) fine. If you've got big wrists or if you like the now-fading fashion for huge watches then you might want to go for the 40mm version that Timex sells. Despite some of the imperfections, this is a 5-star review because I don't expect a $30 watch to have the same standard of materials and manufacturing as a $200 watch. If you're looking for this style of watch, it's hard to go wrong with this one for the price. If you're not using a watch to display wealth and you don't want to worry about loss/theft, this watch looks great and does everything you'd want for the price.

The ticking is loud but otherwise is great
The reviewer who said the watch is loud is spot on. I have to put my wrist under my pillow to fall asleep if I’m wearing it. Otherwise it’s great. Comes with a warranty, easy to set date and time. Strap adjusts down a lot which is great if you have a small wrist.

Very nice Timex Expedition Watch
Very nice Timex Expedition Watch for ladies. I purchased it for the low price and also for the date function. Have worn Timex watches for many years and appreciate their longevity. Wake up often at night and very much like the bright light up dial to indicate the time. So far has been very functional and dependable. You just can't go wrong with a Timex.

Small strap size 18mm watch. Good quality.
I only wanted the actual watch for a 18mm strap as I have a bioflow magnet for wrist pain. Watch is excellent quality and very well made too.

Good basic watch
It's a decent size, i was hoping it wouldn't be too big since women's watches are always lame & pink and mens are always so big and bulky. This watch size is just right. I'm a big outdoorsy person & wanted something sturdy and waterproof. Next time I'll look for a solar-powered one, but so far this one is great, just as advertised. When i got it and was setting the time/date, i didn't realize the dial had 2 settings to change the time & date so I sat there spinning the dial for 45 minutes to get from day 1 to 22, lol. I just figured it out today that if you pull the dial a little once you can change the date (backwards and forwards), and pull it out more to change the time. Very good to know!! When you illuminate at night the date doesn't glow, but whatever not that important.

It's a Timex
It's a Timex Scout. It's a classic. You should know going in that this watch won't boggle your mind with it's quality. The 'ticks' are insanely loud. Like... hear it from across the room loud. It's super light, and the band is just ok. But, it has a cool quality that prompted me to invest in a high quality strap and it totally transformed the watch. It's pretty sweet now, gotta say. And the Indiglo is fantastic. Worth the price for me for sure.

Good deal
Got the watch yesterday before the scheduled delivery day. It’s a cheap watch. Your getting what you paid for and more in my opinion. It’s comfortable on the wrist. The Indiglo light works well and it keeps reasonable time. I was worried about reports that it was obnoxiously loud but I haven’t had an issue with that. I needed a new watch and it serves its purpose on a budget. Can’t complain about that.
