I'll frame this 5-star review in the context of graveyard/low-light work and comparison will be with the Casio W736H8BVCF 'Vibrating Alarm's model. Both are negative-display, similar size, and in the same price range. Display: This was my top priority in looking for a new watch. While both boast of a bright illumination, the Timex wins hands down. Large time, Indigo provides brighter, more uniform illumination than the Casio's single bottom LED. Day, date, time, all easily readable- the main reason to buy this. Does it have a stopwatch or alarms or dual-time zone functions? I think so, but it's irrelevant to why I bought this. Size: the Timex's case is slightly wider but shorter than the Casio's. Overall, it wears better under long sleeves. The Casio did get bumped noticeably more in day to day activities as well. Band: the Casio is the typical ridged resin band for the brand, while the Timex is a silicone band. Both wear well and while the silicone band of the Timex is noticeably softer, both were equally comfortable and neither caused discomfort. If you need a watch to simply tell day/date/time and have amazing illumination, get this. The Casio looks and feels nicer/higher quality but the Timex wins solely on display and illumination. Niche? Yes. Helpful? Maybe.

Good all around
The strap is highly adjustable, great for scrawny wrists. Easy to set, looks great, and doesn't get too sweaty. My only small gripe is light isn't too bright. Still works well at night, though.

Does it's jobs well, easy to use, wear and forget, lasts for years, without even a new battery.
I am a professional geek of more than 40 years and Military/Combat Arms 25 years. Thus I need to know precise and reliable time. In uniform, the Timex Expedition series served me well, through some of the harshest environments. In 25 years I only replaced it once...with the same. They do last and even the batteries last at least a couple years and easy to replace. Once I retired from the military, and as part of being a professional geek, I "retired" my tactical watch from daily wear. I decided to test several of the newer, "smart watches" ranging from Apple Watch Series 1 to several others in the $30-$50 range, with varying degrees of success meeting the same requirements of my "tactical watch". I subscribed to the concept of, "Function over Form," in all my professions from Military to Engineering. In my opinion, at this time, "Smart Watches" do not meet the requirements of two main functions - Rugged and Reliable Time when you need it. Even with smartwatches that claim 4-7 days between recharges, all of them, invariably needed me to recharge it at the worst possible moments. That is already a show stopper for me. With regards to rugged...there is little doubt they do NOT meet the same standards as old school time pieces like this one. Thus I switched back, bought a newer one, and already love this updated version.

Timex is the best
I always buy Timex watches. They last forever and it’s simple to use the features.

Nice watch for the money.
Very nice watch for the money. Easy to read digital screen and simple to set. As others have mentioned, the OEM strap is a bit still and not the most comfortable. I bought the watch with the intention of putting it on a NATO strap, so this was not a big deal for me. A really nice feature about this watch is that it has 22mm lugs, so strap changes are easy!

Awesome watch
I have been wearing timex rugged Ironman watch for 7 years, after the batterie went out I took it to the watch shop and the guy messed it up. I ordered two more and both times the indigo was jacked up. I seen this one and gave it a try…. Best decision I made with timex… it’s a great buy!!

2 year review
I have now owned this watch for 2 years. I knock it around on mechanical things, swim with it on, and have had several different chemicals on this watch. LOL, it still takes a licking and keeps on ticking. Everything still works on the watch. I do clean the face with toothpaste every few months to remove small scratches, but no other maintenance. I will buy it again if I lose this one.

Great looking watch, nice clear display too
This watch looks even better in person than in the pictures, and the display is nice and clear too. Love that it fully backlights when you press the button too, it's bright and clear without being glaring. A very good watch overall.

Cracked screen after a few weeks. Didn't even bash it
Screen cracked after a few weeks, didn't even knock it hard. Poor quality. For something that's supposed to be shock proof it's pathetic. I continued to use the watch for a few months after the face was damaged, the battery went flat and the housing broke during replacement This is the worst watch I have ever had , I will never buy a Timex product again.

I absolutely love this watch
I absolutely love this watch. I've been wearing it with increased frequency since I got it and it's replaced my gorgeous Seiko Prospex diver as my go-to daily watch. The only thing I would change would be the duration of the Indiglo light - it could last a couple of seconds longer. Otherwise, this is a great, cost-effective and (IMHO) stylish digital watch.

The most important thing about these watches.
Indiglo is the best watch illumination on the market..
