For the semi pro and landscaper. Echo CS 305, 14".

Echo CS 305, 14". I changed up my bar to a, Oregon 140SDEA041 .050" Gauge 3/8" Low Pro Pitch 14" Double Guard Bar, I bought this pro level chain to go with it. Bought them about a month ago and just go started using them this week. The bar and chain are an awesome combination. I only bought one chain to see if the bar and chain performed as expected. They do. I hit a rock today and had to come back to the shop to reshape the cutters. I usually run 4 chains with each bar. So today I am ordering two more chains so I will have backups in the field. Depending on the future condition of the bar I may order more chains to go on this bar. I am a landscaper and I do lots of tree work. I have 4 chainsaws all the way up to a 30". This 14" is my go to chainsaw and I cut everything up to 4" with it. Of course I clear small areas and de-limb everything with just this chainsaw. It's 12 years old.

A great cutting chain

I bought 4 of these chains as replacements for the dinky little safety chains that came stock with my Echo CS 303T 14" limbing saw. Those stock safety chains are not worth spit when it comes to cutting through anything bigger than 3" wood and were constantly bogging down, even in soft pine. These 91VXL052G chains , on the other hand, cut through anything I throw at them (except the occasional rock) and do so with plenty of speed. So far I haven't used them on anything bigger than 10", but the cutting power is there. Two words of caution: 1. This is not a safety chain and will buck if provoked. On a lightweight mini saw, this bucking is tolerable , but it may become something to deal with on a more powerful machine - especially if the user is inexperienced using non-safety chain. 2. This chain - like all new chains - will stretch considerably when new. That makes it very prone to loosening up enough to come out of the bar rails during use. I strongly suggest readjusting the chain tension after the first five to ten minutes and then checking it for the first tankful. I didn't follow this procedure and ended up mangling one of the chains, but that was my own fault. I just ordered another 4 of these little gems.

Replacing my low kickback chain on HF Portland saw

Unbelievable unless you try it. AWESOME chain!!! Some time ago I purchased a Harbor Freight Portland chainsaw (green one) and had never been satisfied with it's performance on logs 10-12 inches. It would always end up binding and have to turn the logs over to finish even with a new low kickback chain. This pro series chain is simply outstanding, with just the saw weight on the bar it falls through softwood logs effortlessly. Hardwoods just a couple of seconds longer. Throw away the low kickback style chains and remember to safely cut and wield the blade carefully as it is very grabby . Like another reviewer mentioned this chain leaves mulch instead of dust. Recommend 5+ stars!

Awesome cutter

Absolutely awesome chain. Cuts through anything I try to cut! The so called safety chains were next to worthless and would last an hour or so of cutting if I was lucky. On a pepper tree the safety chains would get gummed up and last about twenty minutes. This chain refuses to get gummed up with pepper tree pruning. I have used this chain for at least six solid hours of cutting and it is still going strong... If I could give it twenty stars I would!

the XL designation means faster cutting

This chain saw blade aggressively cuts firewood. The manufacturer tries to dissuade users because this blade is deemed a bit dangerous for use by inexperienced users. However when one is trying to get the firewood ready for splitting, and if you're a serious wood user, its best to utilize the least amount of effort doing the job. This blade does that nicely. If you are holding on to your chain saw properly, are always present to what you are cutting, this blade does a good cutting job in any chain saw that has a good bar, and is functioning properly.

I would give 10 stars if possible

This is the single biggest improvement a person can do to their saws that have those "anti-kickback" chains. I put this on an Echo cs-310. For a 6" limb, I used to have to rock the saw back and forth and use tons of pressure. It made something I find fun into a job. I put this chain on and all I can say is "WOW!" It blows through like butter. No more sawdust piles, this thing makes mulch! It made my little saw feel like a big ol powerhouse. It did not even need full throttle to quickly dispatch 4" and under limbs. Very impressed. It did require 2 re-tightenings during the first tank but held up after that, as to be expected with a new chain.
