Solved my problem of belt slippage after engaging

Very poor belt

Did not work for my cub cadet rzt 42. I wondered if I received a fake product. It did not come in an Oregon package, just in a plastic bag. The belt was also poorly manufactured. Along the top edge of the belt, there was lots of rubber bits hanging off of it. The belt also had a very weird smell, it smelled like creosote. I put it on my cub cadet, it was slightly longer than the original belt. It kept getting kicked off the drive pulley when I would engage the blades. I kept it on for a week, but it got progressively worse. I went to my local mower shop and bought a cub cadet replacement belt. I put that on, and it works perfectly.

The grass hates my new belt.

Not much you can say about a great lawnmower belt, except it fits perfectly and makes the blades go round and round.
