One great wand for all your watering needs
if you have a garden, a dog, a car, a patio or windows and you haven't purchased this SunMate yet, WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?????? This thing makes quick work of all your watering chores. It is incredibly well made, doesn't leak and offers not only nine difference spray head choices, but also has flow control built in. Its like a group of water engineers got together and said.... lets think of everything we might ever want to do with a garden hose (get your mind out of the gutter) and lets put all that in one wand so folks have no need to ever change watering heads. I can (and do) water plants on a deck (I have a full vegetable garden on our deck here), and then turn the wand towards some raised beds farther away. A simple turn of the front ring and I have a more powerful spray that can reach the 20 or so feet away I need it to reach. Twist the front ring again and you've got a nice flat spray perfect for washing the car or even rinsing soap off from windows. Dog rolled in the mud? No problem.... depending on the degree of mud, the flood, jet or shower modes come in real handy. I need to call the company because the product page states that this is for cold water only and I have hot and cold running water outside and prefer to warm the water slightly before washing the dogs. I need to find out what the risks are. The design of this is super comfortable. You can squeeze the handle to turn the water on (providing you have the spigot turned on of course (but you knew that, right?) and in the handle is another ratcheting button that enables you to keep the sprayer on in varying degrees of intensity so you don't have to keep squeezing the handle if you have a long watering job ahead of you. Seriously there is only one thing that would make me love this wand even more.... if they built in an attachment for your liquid fertilizer. I keep my liquid fertilizer attached at the spigot but it means unless i keep running back to the spigot I have to apply the same about and type of fertilizer to everything I water. A simple attachment to this wand would mean easy on and off. I hope the folks at orbit read this. I'd be happy to be a product tester. BOTTOM LINE: This is a well constructed wand. There are many imitators but this one is the real deal. For my money this is the best wand on the market.

Not a metal hose fitting but sturdy none the less
I am getting tired of replacing my watering wands, they all seem to have plastic fittings that fail after a year (or less), so I went looking for one with a metal connection to my hose; the pictures show this as possibly metal but it is not. I have been using it in a normal manner and so far it is holding up well, I do take all my hoses and accessories in for the winter, I am sure this will make it through this season but next year will be the telling point. It has a good selection of spray patterns and the on-off lever work well to control the flow for more delicate watering, this too is an area that will bear watching for durability. For now, it appears to be a better replacement and has the potential to hold up to multiple seasons, only time will tell.

The little wand that could.
I bought this watering wand just over three years ago, and it finally broke. But it lasted about 2 3/4 years longer than the one I got at Home Depot. I wish it lasted longer. I also wish I could return it for a new one, but it has a 1 year warranty. It has a whole bunch of settings for different kinds of spraying, but I always just used the rain shower setting. It seemed to have pretty heavy-duty construction, and it worked very reliably until it broke. The plastic housing of the head came loose, and water started gushing out of the back of the head. During each of the past three winters I disconnected the wand from my hose and placed the wand in my garage, so it was not directly exposed to the elements, which can be severe at times here in southeastern Michigan. However the garage is detached and not heated, although the residual warmth of two cars keeps it significantly warmer than outside. That said, it still gets pretty cold in there, and some freeze/thaw action may have worked against this watering wand's survival. I'm not sure if it is fair to deduct a star because it broke after three years, but I will say this: I'm buying a new one (same model) today. Maybe I'll try keeping it in the house over the winters and see what happens.

The Wild Sprayer
This is not the Turret Wand Sprayer for me, nope it is not. I received this spray wand the same day as I got a never kink water hose. I thought I would look super cool standing outside watering my flowers and plants and that my neighbors would look over and think oh there is Ms Monday watering her flowers. That is not what happened, the never kink water hose was stiff, the wand was difficult to turn on and off. Once I got the sprayer wand turned on it got away from me and I sprayed the roof, and the patio, and myself and my lawn chairs. I eventually got the hang of it and watered my flowers. So instead of looking super cool while I watered my flowers my neighbors were thinking oh look at Ms Monday dousing herself with water. I just couldn't hold this wand in a comfortable manner when I had small spaces to water in. I guess I should have bought a regular sprayer instead of a spray wand. The one complaint I have is that the foam on the handle is too short, when you are trying to find a properly grip the wand the length of the foam gripper is not long enough. I will be going back to a regular sprayer/nozzle in the future.

VERY happy the first year.
The first year, I truly enjoyed using this. The settings and off and on are in the right place. I left it in the garage over the winter and when I went to use it this spring, the water leaked from the off and on. I put a washer inside it and it solved the issue but then the water leaked at the joint just above the off and on. Nothing I could do to fix that , so I have to resort to the old reliable nozzles

Trigger requires some force
This is a sturdy watering wand. Didn't care for the green colour though (no choice in this matter). It does the job, and I especially like that it gives a fine mist for watering my tender seedlings. The trigger does require some force to get the water going, but at least there's a lock press to hold the flow without continuing to press the trigger down.

Works great!
The dial for the spray head spins great, good quality. Strong sturdy neck and the cushion on the bar is nice. I also like I can regulate the rate of flow. I just wish I paid attention that it wasn't a thumb lever so have to switch hands to push the toggle to the side.

arrived with factory defect
Exceptionally nice product but could not attach it to a hose because of a factory defect. No threading in the handle. Returned item.
