Brass-great, plastic, not great.
The plastic shut-off levers do not hold up well in the Arizona heat. I'm replacing this one with a version that has all brass parts. Otherwise, it's functional and the threading is reliable.

worked, but valves become hard to turn
They worked initially for me, but the valves soon started to stick and got hard to turn after about 1/2 to 1 year of use.

High quality but could be better
Very durable and high quality. Two criticisms: 1. The levers/switches are very difficult to turn unless you switch them frequently; and 2. The hose gasket had to be switched out with a higher quality to stop leakage.

Decent, especially for the price
Decent construction, and looks like it will last a while. Another headline could be poor design, well-executed. It's a matter of design philosophy. If you have a 3/4" input, but the ball valve only passes 3/8", you lose half your pressure. This is fine, if your intent is to run both outlets at the same time. But I bet most folks use these one side at a time, and have the valve only to avoid the hassle of swapping hoses. In that case, you are losing half your pressure. I've yet to see a wye valve that considers this, so this issue doesn't argue against this particular valve. Now, a few comments about other reviews. As far as Too Much Plastic, if the plastic ring on the female side weathers and falls off, there's still the standard brass ring there, like many hoses for the last century have had. If the plastic breaks off the valve handles, it appears there is still a brass lever beneath it that will be usable. Those two issues are far better on this valve than most. I also cannot see any casting seam that could fracture and split. Looks like real brass, so hopefully none of the negative interactions I've seen on the steel / zinc ones that anodize and weld themselves into place. If you live in a cold climate, remember that these must either be removed or both valves left open each fall, or you will freeze your faucet!!

One handle was stuck but came lose with pliers
It's OK and it works. One handle wouldn't move until I grabbed it with pliers and now I can move it fine.

Good splitter
I decide getting this metal faucet splitter as I call it !. Because others made of aluminum will expand and contract according to tge weather. It serve its porque BUT the small handles that opens the divided sections are to hard to operate. I am a man not to weak and I barely can open it every time I do struggle because the tabs are just tiny. I think they should revise tge tabs somehow. So I open the main valve and leave both tabs open to avoid frustration lol

Working great so far
I tried another Y connector that leaked (and I returned). This one is better for a several reasons. For one thing, it doesn't leak. That's important. For another, the on/off switches are easier to turn and it's easy to tell if they are in the on or off positions because there is a marker in brass. When you have a timer on one side, you wouldn't necessarily know if the water was on or off to that hose when it's not time to sprinkle per your program. On the other side, I have a hose with a hand-spray nozzle that doesn't let water flow except when the trigger is squeezed so I can't tell if water is flowing to that hose either. I want to know that the water is on to the timer side, and off to the other, unless I'm using it, and with the raised brass markings, I can, plus I don't need to worry about the markings wearing off. My timer attaches to one side of this connector well, leaving just enough space for me to remove the programming module when I need to and then slide it back into place. Another huge benefit is that I've had other connectors that caused noise in the water line when an extension or a timer was added to one side and the water left on to that side. This one does not do that. I'm not phobic about plastic. As long as it works, I'm happy and so far, this does for me just fine. I've had other hose connectors with plastic shut off tabs that have worked well for years even when left out over the winter. For the price of this item, I'm very satisfied and recommend it.

Works very well
I added a self filling dog waterer to my hose tap and therefore the tap needs to stay on. The other half of the "Y" goes to the garden hose. All hose fittings sealed up easily with just hand pressure and the legs of the Y fully seal with the paddle handle so the watering hose doesn't leak. Sometimes these Y's impede water flow but this one flows better than the leaky Y that was on before. The only change I'd ask for is a little better ergonomics on the thumb handles. They're a little small and you have to push kinda hard to turn them.

Only got one summer
I had another plastic hose devider which leaked. After installing this brass one I was very pleased that it didn't leak & it's also very strong. The only issue I have is that I find it difficult to turn the clips to control the water flow. I have sprayed some WD40 on it & I'm hoping with more use these clips will loosen up a bit. Overall it's a great product & I would definitely buy another for the other end of my house. Update summer 2022. I went to use my hose sitter this spring and the brass end that screws on fell off in my hand unfortunately. Still a good product for the price but if you want to get more than 1 season out of it I would buy something different. If I purchased this again I would bring it in for the winter which I admit we had a very cold one!

Works OK but.....
Works OK but be aware that it fits very close to the water tap so not much room for hands , and the little toggle handles to direct the flow of water are so tiny and hard to turn open and close. I would not buy again, but I am using it for what I needed, just have to put up with the inconveniences.

Kind of expensive for what it is
I think this is expensive for a tiny hose connector. The shut-off valves are really hard to open and close. It's a bit leaky but hopefully some non-stick tape will help resolve that. I hope it doesn't rust or crack - durability is still to be seen.

“ Y “ water hose splitter
The left valve does not shut completely off . It can be forced , but is not seating properly. Other then that, I like the fact that it’s brass , and has a swivel top as it was needed because there was no room to turn the fixed kind.
