Great reel LOW PRICE
I been using this reel for about 15 years and had no problems with it. when I did give problems, Okuma stood by their product and repaired and replaced it. I'd been using it on a 7' pole casting 250ft consistently. I recent bought this reel again, this time I paired it with a 12ft pole, and I reached 495ft casting. That nearly doubles the distance on a 7 ft pole. This reel is by far worth the $50 you're going to spend. When it comes to fishing, I've used it in Big Rivers like the Mississippi in Port Allen Louisiana, then James River, The Chickahominy River and Northwest River in Virgina as well as the Gulf of Mexico in Louisiana, the Atlantic Ocean and Chesapeake Bay in Virginia and in the Pacific Ocean in California. This Reel has pulled in Catfish 60+ pounds, Grouper, 56in red drum, 60+ inch cobia, mahi mahi, red snapper you name it. I am a huge Penn fan and I tell you this Okuma will stand up to just about any application in and above its class, especially for the price. Pictures coming soon.

WHAT SHOULD YOU EXPECT FOR FIFTY DOLLARS
I bought four of these in a single purchase. I wish I had only bought one to try out. Purchased for trolling for walleye. One the line counter randomly stops counting at ten feet no matter how many times you reel reset it before letting line out. No fun trolling with dipsey divers release diver wind back in reset counter try again uhg.. All the reels are temperamental with the spool release lever. Often you can not move the lever to free spool without reeling in line. Not good when your dipsey diver is near your rod tip and you have to release the drag to pull line off so you can turn the handle to get the spool to release. What really is bad the lever is made of plastic and my fishing guests not knowing put pressure on the lever to released and broke two levers. Replaced the two levers a week later another guest broke another. They are inexpensive reels but I wished I had paid more for better quality. It costs a lot to go fishing and when you gear brakes its costs even more. Hoping I can sell these 2 month old reels on Market Place for half the my purchase price.

Awesome reel for kayak fishing
Got the ma20dx and paired it with okuma 7' 6" downrigger rod. Very happy with this. I put on 800' of powerpro braid 50lb test and use flourocarbon leader in 15lb. Line counter is accurate and gets me where I need to be for depth using 4 and 6oz cannonball weights on a slider/dropper setup.

Only one issue
The lever to put spool in free spin will not release, sticks to the point where it feels like it is going to break. And of course it happened 2days past the limit to send it back to get a replacement. I love the reel other than that.

Satisfied, but a couple of issues
You really need to watch the line counter. Sometimes the reset button seems to stick and then it doesn't work. I just need to push it again to "unstick" it and it works fine. Just a bit annoying when I'm letting line out and look down to watch for the desired depth and it's not working, so reel the line back in, "unstick" the counter and release the line again. Also, sometimes the level to set the reel in free-spool doesn't release. I need to wind the reel a bit and try to release the lever to free-spool a second and rarely a third time to get it to work. For the money, this was definitely a good buy, just a couple of quirks.

Exceptional for the price point!
Prompt shipping, good pricing for this reel. Line counter so far is good. Have caught several striper and it has held up just fine. It is not quite the smooth reel that you could find for 5 times the price, but exceptional for the cost. Drag is also doing a good job for me. I have owned for approximately two months, so I don't have enough fish in the boat to give an accurate opinion on how well it will hold up over time. At the moment, I am very pleased and would buy again! Good job Okuma and Amazon!

Impressive reel
I bought two of these reels MA-20DX for trolling the upper missouri river and lakes. So far so good. I am confident in my lure presentations with the line counter. I recommend reading the manual for tips on how to extend the life of the reel. Most importantly don't leave it with drag set real tight for a long period of time as it can wear out. the model i purchased is a RIGHT HAND crank. If you prefer to reel with your left hand make sure to order a model with an L in it. ie MA-20DLX. I gave it four stars because there are better out there, but probably not in this price range.

Very good for the price
I’ve had this reel before the only problem i have had is the counter quits working. The only reason I bought these is my son took over my others

Good Quality
I have just started using these reels and they work just fine. Caught a huge muskie and the reel handled the fish easily. Alas I had to cut line as I couldn't lift fish into boat!!
