If you have a pup that is heavy chewer you need this
We have a boxer pit mix and she is a HEAVY chewer. She loves anything from Nylabone. This bone is very heavy duty and can take the hours of chewing. Highly recommend.

One of my dog's favorites
this toy is one of my dog's absolute favorites. the only reason for 4 stars is how sharp it gets after she's been chewing on it. Like all the Nylabone items it does get sharp, don't know who they can help that but ouch, and it does tend to scratch her mouth and make it sore as well.

Perfect chew toy, but must be replaced
I really like these chew toys. I didn't think my dog would actually like them because they're hard as rock, but the second I hand it to her starts gnawing away and is occupied for hours. I would have given this 5 stars but there's a few little things I don't like. For one, these aren't meant to last very long. It says right on the packaging that it needs to be replaced once little plastic pieces start coming off. This would be fine if my dog chewed more evenly. She tends to bite on one corner and never touches the other sides, so we end up having to buy another one fairly quickly. And they aren't cheap when you have to buy them regularly. The other thing I don't like is the side that has little dots. As soon as my dog starts chewing on one of those sides, I'm super afraid she's going to cut her gums. The bumps get really sharp really fast even when the rest of the toy still looks brand new. The other ridges and styles work fine, just wish they wouldn't use those dots. Also, the middle orange part is just a waste. I've never once seen my dog chew on the middle so it really seems pointless. Overall, it will definitely keep your dog occupied for hours. Just keep in mind that its not meant to be chewed on forever. You'll have to buy another one pretty soon.

Best dog chewie ever!
These Nylabone Proaction Dental Chews are EXCELLENT! My Lhasa's teeth stay cleaner, with less plaque, and these chews are very, very durable. I keep an extra in his travel bag in case his gets left at home. The orange center part makes it easy to find when it gets misplaced. (And I always keep a backup -- no unhappy puppies here!) My only complaint is, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, list all the sizes of these on one page!!!!!!! It took freaking forever to find the medium size. I almost gave up and went to a different website where I would have to pay more and pay shipping but at least I could find it. There are three sizes and they are exactly the same except for size. PUT THEM ON THE SAME PAGE!!!! PLEASE!!! Thank you very much. PS They are the greatest chews ever, so hang in there and find the right size for your dog. Your dog will thank you for it. PPS Later on. Still love this chewie. But judging by some reviews, Nylabone might need to make larger sizes. I always buy the Medium size for my 20-pound (Small) Lhasa so that he can't get full leverage on the toy, and this does not inhibit his delight in chewing the Nylabone. Larger breeds and breeds with especially powerful jaws (like pit-bulls) may need a larger size than suggested by weight alone.

My little dachshund/maltese mix has destroyed many of the chew toys I have brought for her to gnaw at. Gladly, so far, this product has withstood her eager efforts to chew it to pieces (and she's had it for about two weeks now). Until I brought her the nylabone dinosaur a few days back, this was her favorite chew toy - now it's her second favorite. I prefer offering my dog nylabone products to chew, rather than a hard bone because I believe they are safer for her. I appreciate not having to worry that she might eat small pieces that might cause her a stomach upset or worse. The product does not leave a mess of little pieces all over the floor after she's been chewing on it. Something to watch for - when I first gave my dog this toy, after she'd had it for about an hour, she chewed one of the edges into a sharp point and caught her mouth on it. It made her bleed a little. To ensure the toy remained safe, we filed the sharp edge away and gave it back to her. We have had no problems with the toy since then. I am going to give the Nylabone Pro Action Advanced K-9 Dental Device - Medium three stars for two reasons: Firstly, because the edge became sharp and cut her slightly, and secondly because my dog doesn't really seem to enjoy gnawing at the middle (orange) portion of the toy. She likes the nylabone dinosaur much more, so when she needs something new to chew on, I will buy her another one of those instead.

My dog approves
My dog can destroy any toy, when she gets a new toy it's almost as if her brain goes "challenge accepted". So I have been in the market looking for the perfect toy that wouldn't result in landing itself in a trash bin the same day it arrives. I have purchased so many toys and so many brands that claim to be for extreme chewers, all have failed the test except this one. This is a tough toy, to be honest I'm not sure my dog enjoys it because it is so hard. She chews it with the intention of wanting to destroy the thing, every chew results in a little whimper followed by another chew and so on and so on. So far it has held up to my dog. It's literally the first toy ever that has lasted more than 24 hours in this house. I would recommend this brand to a friend.

I just don't get it
Whose idea was it to make a "bone" out of plastic and then flavour it, so that a dog is tricked into chewing it? Net result is that the dog ingests tiny pieces of plastic! The "bone" surface becomes extremely rough, with sharp pointed plastic spurs, that hurt the dogs mouth and gums if you don't continually sandpaper them down. Totally stupid piece of kit. Just give the dog a real bone (beef preferably), deer antler or similar. As a play toy it's too hard and dog quickly loses interest. Also, the added "flavour" can't be that attractive, as my voracious terrier pretty much ignores it most of the time. Eating tiny bits of plastic is not a good idea for dogs.

Perfect for a happy dog!
My Cocker Spaniel gets through rope toys, corded dog toys and alike pretty quickly. Bought one of these on the high street as it said 'for a vigorous chewer' and it lasted ages so I was happy to find them on amazon and at 1/3 cheaper too!! He now has 4 of these in differing shapes and flavours and absolutely loves them. They're brilliant for teeth cleaning too (particularly this design) with the ridges and bumps. Would absolutely recommend and I know I'll be purchasing more of these in the future.

This has so far survived my puppy's chewing
This bone is pretty durable in that it gets used regularly and hasn't been totally destroyed yet. There are bits missing off it, but altogether performance so far has been satisfactory.
