Nice material, run large

The linen of these shorts is good quality and the color is terrific—it is very true to the picture shown. They are loose on the leg which helps keep you cool on hot summer days. The only issue I’ve had is that the waist and hip area stretches out significantly over the course of the day. After washing they fit well, but within a few hours they feel a whole size bigger and by nighttime almost 2 sizes up. A dear friend asked me why I was wearing shorts that were so saggy in the bottom. I love how these look so I gave 4 stars but I should have sized down. I find NYDJ sizes to not be very uniform as I have many different sizes that fit—it all depends on material and cut of fabric.

Nice, but the cut could have been slimmer.

I like the quality of these shorts. But I dropped them one star because the legs are quite wide. I ended up tapering them in from hip to knee for a more flattering fit.

Would wear these every day!! - Update - received size 6 today, PERFECT!!

This is my favorite brand of shorts. Wanted to try the linen & these are wonderful. Worth the cost. So well made as are all their shorts. I am between sizes heading to a 6 down from the 8 that I purchased, so these are a bit lose which I prefer. The color is also perfect. Just a nice creamy almond that goes with everything! 1/9/19 Update! Made it to size 6 & received my new pair today, perfect fit as expected thanks to this wonderful brand of shorts. Come on summer!

Comfortable and fit well

Very nice shorts and they fit well, I'm between a 16 and 18 so I ordered 16. Surprisingly they do not wrinkle as the are linen.

I was looking for linen shorts to go with several linen shirts I just bought and these are perfect! I'm a size 10 and (as usual) I could almost have gone down to an 8 but I like linen to hang a bit, so I'm satisfied. Topiary is a good neutral - sort of a dusty grey/green.
