Looks ok in the package.
I was very concerned about the metal this set was made of before I bought it: i bought a very similar looking set before, the one with blue handles. The seller also claimed it was stainless steel. It wasn't. So I sent NY Cake an email asking for some kind of proof that it was in fact stainless steel. I did not get any proof, I got this: "That is correct our ball tool set if the official James Rosselle Ball Tool set.We were the first one to manufacture the Ball Tool Set with James Rosselle his self.We also carry his full product line of silicone flower veiners." It came in that plastic packaging that is not easy to open (this is a gift) so I could only examine it through the plastic. I have to say that it looks a lot better/cleaner than the set with blue handles. However, I see rust in one spot on the handle. It still could be low grade stainless steel. If the coating starts peeling off i will update this. And although it is advertised as "James Rosselle" ball set, there is nothing on the package remotely mentioning James Rosselle. Update: i am happy to report that after first use the balls are still intact: nothing peeled off into the fondant. And it makes the petals so much more delicate.

Size range is great
These ball tools do a really good job. They're easy to handle and the range of sizes is great. Only four stars because set arrived out of its packaging and jumbled in the box. The balls screw onto the handle, and some were rolling oround. I've noticed since that the balls come unscrewed easily. A minor issue compared to their usefulness.

The very best.
Beautifully made, high quality tools. The stainless steel ball ends are smooth and seamless (unlike plastic ones) and glide easily over your gumpaste without catching or tearing. Covered handles are easy grip, even if your hands have been greased a bit. The set includes every size you could want. Highly recommended.

Did not buy this tool for cake making. It makes a great caulking tool.

The Mercedes of ball tools
I can't say enough good things about these ball tools. Not only do they work great but they are very comfortable to work with. I've noticed a big difference in my gum paste flowers.

The first day I used the largest ball tool the metal started flaking off on my gum paste. Super.
