It works, but is it really necessary
So, it works great. And I have no fear using it on my dog. The gaurd keeps my dogs paws safe. That being said. You could easily use a standard grinding disk to do your dog's nails. You just have to be careful. So it comes down to your comfort and experience level of using your dremmel on various things and at various angles. If you have any doubt about how good you are using your dremmel. Then get this. It takes all doubt away. Because it just has a slot big enough to get your dogs nail in. So it's a good product.

A Miracle
We have three pups who we struggle to trim the nails on. One in particular just won’t allow it. This is the first product we’ve found that they let us use. We attach to Dremel 8220 (rechargeable), and run on lowest setting to keep nice and quiet. AMAZINGLY all three pups let us use it! Thank you!!!!

Works as expected
I normally use a standard sanding drum with coarser grit for my large dog. That works well, but managing the large tool (Dremel 8220) can be cumbersome. I was interested in this so that it could be used end-on instead of sideways, which woks a little better for how we like to set up when doing nails. All of that works fine and as expected, and it makes cleanup of the nail dust quite a bit easier. I would prefer the disks has a coarser grit, this would bring my review up to 5 stars.

Works good for my large dog.
The guard gets in the way sometimes but for wuick rough trimmings this works well enough

Great product, be sure it’s right for you before buying
Just got this today to use on my 6month old, 46lb Golden Retriever. I had his nails professionally cut the first time in hopes he’d get use to his nails being cut. This time I opted to do it myself with this product and it worked perfectly. I started on a low setting so he would be use to the noise of the dremel. After a minute when he seemed more comfortable, I turned my dremel to 1500rpm which is adequate for this task. Had his front paws trimmed in about 5min. It seems a lot of negative reviews are from people who buy this and don’t have the correct dremel. You must make sure the model dremel you own will work with this attachment. Also, your dremel will determine the height of the tool. If you follow these basics things, I think most people will be satisfied w the product. Go slow and take your time and I think you’ll like it. Final thought, this product may not work as well with smaller pups. I could see this possibly being harder to use if your dog has smaller paws and shorter nails so do keep that in mind.

Read the box!
For all those saying the slot positions don't work - that's because they're not "levels"! The side idea the box shows which slot you should have the guide set to, depending on which model # Dremel you have :) Just tested it out on 2 nails of one of my dogs, and I think it'll do just fine! The Dremel we have is model 8220, so it's a little cumbersome but if they get used to this, I might get a different model JUST for this purpose.

Ummm, works....but....
Works better than the nail trimmer we had before. Still a total pain in the arse to trim the beasts nails, though that is not fault of the tool, just the dogs attitudes. The dogs would rather fight us, squirm, shake, kick, fart and just be all around bone heads. They’d rather drag the task out sooooo much longer than give in, submit, and be done super quick.

Works wonders!
Both my big rough tough German Shepherds turn into little winy kids when it is time for grooming. With their nails being black, trimming them was especially challenging. All that changed with this fantastic Dremel attachment. Now nail trimmings are actually enjoyed! They have long seen me use my Dremel for other work, and are quite comfortable and careful around me when I am using my power tools. They have both see it work with a bit in the chuck and have become indifferent to its sound. With this attachment and a course (60) sanding disc running at a slow to medium setting (around 4 on my #300 model) both dogs are comfortable getting their nails "power filed". Each has their own preferences - Max like a higher speed and lighter touch, while Fritz wants it slower and tries to shove his nail in. Both now see pedicures as a special 1-on-1 time where they are the pampered "star of the show." Now the only problem is getting one to wait for the other to be finished. I have to swap dogs every paw or they fight to be next. LOL. I have ordered a rechargeable Dremel to dedicate to this task as there is not an outlet comfortably close to their couch, where they prefer to get groomed. That's right I said "THEIR COUCH". As my service dogs, they gave me my life back, so yeah, I have spoiled them with their own couch. If you visit, they will gladly share it with you, but they will also make it clear they own it.

Great product for dog who is scared of nail clippings
I was trying to find a product that would allow me to get my dogs nails done because at her old age she does not like to have them clipped. I started taking her to the vet, but then COVID-19 happened and had to find something else. This does the trick. I had to get her used to it, but she is much better with this than the clippers. However, I do find it easier without the guard on it because I cannot get her nail in at the right angle and the last time I used my dremel to file her nails down I did it without the attachment altogether and with a sand dremel attachment and it seemed to work just as well, but have to be careful with her hair getting in the way. I still may use the guard and attachment again.

Make sure your dremel is listed!
AWESOME!! I own several dremels and the one with the variable speed, it fits it perfectly!! Busted it out of the package as soon as I got it, attached it, which is very easy to do and then grabbed my bluetick coonhound to do her nails first... in less than 4 min I had both front paws done!! She tolerated it well and make sure you don't put the speed up too high or I think the dogs will not tolerate the vibrations. I have a German Shepherd to do next but, at 95lbs, it will take a couple of people to help for him but, once he gets use to it, I am sure he will be a breeze to do!! Better than Clippers cause you can see how much you are taking off and check it frequently and sometimes the clippers will not cut the first time and I own 3 different kinds, even the ones with the guard so you don't take too much and one with the adjustable length guard that is also a problem at times. This has taken care of all those issues!!

Truly a time saver ...
I used to struggle quite a bit before, especially with the hind legs. But with this tool installed on my Dremel, filing my dogs nail is a two to three minute job. It took me a little bit of practice before I felt comfortable with it; but after 10 to 12 sessions or so, I think that this tool is excellent. Not only does is quick and efficient, but it is also very safe for both the dog and me. Without it, even though I wear eye protection, I would occasionaly get nail dust/particles in my eye. Not with this, everything stays inside; and all I have to do is to lower the dremel down towards the floor and turn it up to highest speed to vent everything out. I highly recommend the Dremel AT01-PGK Pet Grooming Nail Guard Attachment.
