Dimmer is hit/miss...
Purchased to replace trusty, similarly-styled lamp that used 27W fluorscent bulb but which, unfortunately, died when apparently defective replacement bulb fried it. It is the sole source of room lighting and illumination for task work so needed something reliable. While the range of illumination for this lamp, provided by the dimmer, is appreciated (reduced levels late at night or in early morn ...and that lamp remembers last setting), the location of the dimmer is awkward. Locate it by touch and, as a result, the moment fingers get anywhere near the switch, light goes on or off, sometimes several times. As a migraine sufferer, sensitive to flashing lights, this proves very annoying. When attempting to check or change the light level by pressing the switch, using firm, direct pressure to prevent light going on/off, that often results in nothing happening. After several weeks of use, have yet to find the 'sweet spot' of what kind of touch facilitates the on/off and how to change the light level once on. Also, fear the dimmer switch is the vulnerable feature most likely to fail making the lamp useless. As some other reviews have mentioned, except for when the light is maxed out to either extreme, difficult to gauge what level of light is being emitted such as could be determined by the visual of a physical knob. Given that this lamp is used for many continuous hours each day, especially in Winter, like that it never gets more than a bit warm. Assembly was fairly straight forward. However, the idiosyncrasies of the dimmer remain a source of frustration. (3.5 stars)

Gets the lamp off my desk
This is a great lamp and just the right height for my desk. I had a lamp that sat on my desk but wanted the extra space without the compromise of the light being too far away. This lamp sits on the floor and reaches to all the areas I need it to, not that I move it that much. Brightness is good for lighting up the whole desk area and for use if I wish to not turn on the full light in the room. This lamp is a great lamp all around and seems to be very sturdy once all the neck pieces are screwed into place. I thought it was a little wobbly until I realized that the bottom piece also screws in and it made is a whole lot more sturdy. The neck swivels great for adjusting where I want the light and I have not issues with any of the lamp. Just a great overall lamp in my opinion.

Very Innovative!
I love, love, love this lamp. I'm a very hands-on person, so building it up was like therapy to me. Otherwise, it is easy to build, regardless. So, you do not need to hire anyone to build this lamp unless you really do need the help. The button on the lamp is so innovative! All it takes is a light touch to turn it on and off. My roommates love using it too! I definitely recommend this lamp 100%.

Can't beat this type of light fixture at this price point
It's a bit on the light side, but at this price, can't complain. Most important, at brightest setting it spreads a lot of light. I like the dimmer. I just wish it was placed somewhere besides right by the light where you can't see. Maybe on top or side? But overall, I recommend

Bright clear light
I assembled this myself it was easy. I bought it for jigsaw puzzles through the winter. Gives a bright daylight type light, it’s very easy to see the pieces. Sturdy and weighted down so it doesn’t tip over but light enough to carry to another room. I love that you plug it in so no need for light bulbs.

Good standing lamp
Been using it since June 2019. Product works very well. Easy to assemble and stable. Able to adjust brightness easily. Bright enough for work but also can dim it for less light. Flexible to use as a standing lamp or move near the desk as a working lamp. Highly recommend it.
