Sturdy, medium-strength magnet, adjustable stalk position
The big orange DIY store stopped selling their Everbilt model and changed to an Onward brand, which has a weak magnet and non-rotatable stalk. This National Hardware model recapitulates the good features of the Everbilt brand, with a decent (but not quite as strong) magnet, clean brass finish, 3-screw installation of the base plate, and a screw+nut stalk assembly, which is allows you to align the magnet stopper exactly how you want it once the stopper is screwed all the way down. As with all of these items, beware of breaking off screw heads when driving into hardwood baseboards with an impact driver - best to predrill holes with a 3/16" bit and/or use your own heavier duty screws.

Good doorstop
Finding the right color was the hard part. We have several of these magnetic stops. They don't hold unless you open the door gently, but once they catch the door, they hold it open without the need to mess with a doorstop. There is some spring action to gently bring the motion to a stop, but bouncing off is still too easy. Overall we like them.

Did the trick. Fairly simple. Looks good.
I can’t believe I dealt with this for years with so simple a solution available. I would 100% recommend for anyone struggling with a door that refuses to stay open and doesn’t want to spend an arm and a leg ripping the doorframe up. I saw one review that said this was too long but it seems to be standard/perfect size. For anyone that is a novice at installing/drilling/hanging things: 1- Align both pieces where you want them, hold the stopper (long piece) in place, mark around it. 2- Unscrew the stopper and tighten the nut FULLY (wrench + screwdriver) to ensure a flush fit with the stopper and the wall (or door, however best works for your orientation). Mark the holes and drill out shallow holes with a 1/8 bit. Attach the stopper. 3- Align both pieces again and mark with a pencil around the stub piece that the stopper magnetizes to. Disassemble the stub piece and then reassemble with the end off so you see the drill holes. Drill out with the same 1/8 bit and attach. 4. Don’t blame the hardware if you don’t take the time to line the pieces up correctly before drilling holes.

Holds back door with no effort on (my) part
Whoever thought of this is a genius! Simple to install (although the base if in the floor, as is the case in my situation can get a bit wobbly and need tightening). A real time and effort saver!!

Exactly what I was looking for!
Was looking for exactly this finish. None of the HD or Lowe’s stores where I am carry this color/finish. This worked perfectly!

No more scuffed doors! Easy to install, very attractive too.
I've purchased over a dozen of these for my own homes, and just purchased 4 more for my parents home. They are wonderful! My first purchase was for a rental unit of ours. It's an old Victorian in the Railroad or Shotgun style of floor plan. The front door enters into a long, narrow hallway and I noticed that over time, the bottom of the front door got terribly scuffed from all the times people walked in with their hands full of things and had to keep kicking the door to keep it open. A traditional wedge door stop would work, but that means having to have one handy and also taking a few seconds to put it in place. This magnetic doorstop is the perfect solution. It's simple to install, is very attractive, has a strong hold even in a breezy doorway, and comes in lots of different finishes to match your existing hardware. I'm buying a bunch for my parents because my mom uses a walker and is having trouble with her walker scuffing up their doors. In their case, the strength of the magnet is pretty darn perfect - - - it's strong enough to keep even their breeziest back door open, but not so strong that she isn't able to easily just reach behind her to release it as she walks through. My mom is teeny and not very strong (5' and 89 lbs). All in all, one of my favorite finds. Who knew a door stop could make such a difference.

Solved my problem
I have an inside door to the garage that is solid core and heavy. It opens into our front entryway and the knob lines up with the corner of a wall. Every time the door gets pushed or blown open hard, it hammers the dent in the corner of the wall a little deeper. After my last repair, I was determined that it _would_ be the last. Found this door stop, installed it and it works great! I was able to screw the stop into solid wood at the bottom of the wall out near the corner edge. And the little spring bumper went into the solid door, so everything is anchored down. The stop is long enough that the door knob is held about an inch away from the corner. The hardware looks nice, is good quality and I think it will last a long time.

Works great, install not too difficult
This product is perfect for holding doors open. The magnets are the optimum strength - hold well, yet release easily. The spring makes it fairly quiet to use. One of the three that I installed was assembled too tightly to disassemble using only fingers, but inserting needle-nose pliers in the holes and turning did the trick. If the surface is a harder wood, you might need to use a slightly larger drill bit.
