The packaging wasn’t the best but I was able to straighten them pretty easily

This hing was definitely worth the money It did exactly what I needed to do But packaging stunk very flimsy cardboard was able to straighten it out so no problem but you would think it’ll be in a better package

Excellent hinge at a great price!

Best price, perfect product. I bought this for a blanket chest that I made. I just cut the hinge to exact length with an angle grinder (any abrasive metal cutting blade will go through it like butter) and screwed it down. Hinge installation is not for everyone, but if you have the right vix bit and know what you are doing then this product will create a virtually indestructible and visually perfect hinge joint for your project. I would not be surprised if inexperienced consumers find it very difficult to install a piano hinge, and/or end up with poor results but that is not due to a problem with this hinge. I recommend creating something with scrap lumber that will allow you to clamp both sides of the workpiece into the exact alignment, then mark where the hinge needs to be. Depending on the workpiece, you may want to remove one side of the workpiece at that point if needed in order to use a straightedge to ensure the hinge is being is being fastened down in a perfectly straight line. Then clamp the workpiece back into position and fasten the other edge. That part is essential because it is super easy to introduce a slight curve to it, which results in a very poor hinge joint that will bind. Again, the installation issues are nothing specific to this hinge, but technique is critical to getting good results with any piano hinge.

Bad packaging

The product is great. But they are delivered in envelopes. Everyone has been ripped and either one of the few have one missing or the product is bent or in one case all the screws fell out.

Item Name incorrect. Only 12", not 30"

Just received this via UPS. I was expecting "National Hardware V570 Continuous Hinge, 1-1/16 by 30-Inch, Brass", which should be 30" long. What I received was a National Hardware item V570, but it was 1-1/2" by 12". It was brass, but certainly not the 30" mentioned in the item name. Looking back at the description, it says the product dimensions are "14 x 1.8 x 1 inches". If I had noticed this, I would have ordered a different item, as I need a 30" hinge. The good thing to note is that, as always, Amazon is taking care of it for me. I give Amazon 5 stars for that. I planned on giving this item only one star, but only because it was 12" instead of 30". The product itself, looks well made and would be fine if I had been expecting a 12" hinge. So, I'm giving this two stars because the item is fine, but I won't give a higher rating because the size stated in the item name was incorrect.

smooth hinge

At first it seemed like this hinge was a little thin and might not be strong enough. But once it was mounted, it worked just fine. I used it to mount a 24 inch TV in my RV bedroom, replacing the old unit. Now I can raise the TV up because of the hinge, and take advantage of the space formally lost by the depth of the old unit.

Good hinge

I used this hinge on a window seat. I was a little concerned about the 3/4” plywood seat lid being warped, that it might warp the hinge. The hinge didn’t warp, and it pulled the warp out of the plywood. It came with enough screws.

Finally

It was a nightmare to find a piece of piano hinge long enough for our project. This was easy to cut to length and came with its own brass screws. Good quality.

NOT BRASS

Junk plated steel and its flimsy steel at beat. The page says MATERIAL : Brass. it is not
